This concert was Current 93's first ever performance in the U.S., and along with the second show at this same location the next night, it was quite a beautiful experience for all who attended. Tiny Tim had also been scheduled to perform on these two nights, but unfortunately could not due to health problems. The event was held inside New York's oldest synagogue. A special limited edition CD was made available for concert-goers at this performance, as well as t-shirts and small posters (many of which were signed) commemorating the event. This event was reportedly described by Ticketmaster (who handled ticket sales) as the fastest-selling concerts ever by a group they had never heard of.

In 1999, a double CD called All Dolled Up Like Christ was released documenting both nights.

The following was the official release information for the October/November 1996 Current 93 performances in New York. Tiny Tim was unable to attend due to suffering a heart attack. He passed away on December 1, 1996.

World Serpent and Cosmic Conspiracy Productions are happy to announce that the VeryVoice of VeryGod, CURRENT 93, will be playing a Hallowe'en celebration in New York City at The Orensanz Foundation (old 1850 Synagogue), with special guests TINY TIM (cancelled) and LORETTA'S DOLL. This is their first Hallowe'en show since 1992, and their only U.S. appearance.
