ANDREW CHALK's was active as early as 1985 under the Nine and Ferial Confine aliases. He also worked with many associates over the years, such as David Jackman (Organum), The New Blockaders, Darren Tate (as Bird Cage Walk, Accoy, and Ora), Jonathan Coleclough, Giancarlo Toniutti, and more recently with Robin Barnes (as Isolde and Marsfiled, the latter with Vikki Jackman and Brendan Walls) and Naoko and Daisuke Suzuki (as Ghosts on Water).

- "Old Hive" was recorded by Andrew Chalk in 1986 and remixed and re-edited by Christoph Heemann in 1998.
- The split 7" with John Duncan comes in a numbered limited edition of 300 copies on black vinyl. The first 55 copies are signed.
- A second pressing of 110 numbered copies on red vinyl. The last 30 copies came with a laser printed insert instead of regular cover.
- The track was released in its original form on Andrew Chalk's cassette "Crescent" in 1986, and it appeared again in its final remixed form on Andrew Chalk's CD of the same name in 2000.
