The Hafler Trio have been concerned with the communication of the incommunicable for over twelve years. Now they have reached the point of no return; compromises have been swept away. This compact disc, released in April 1992, is designed as a litmus test for all areas of their spheres of influence. Fuck is an expression of need rather than whimsy, a response to the simulacra engendered by dealing with the most taboo of taboos — male sexual reflex. The aim of the project is to disperse the shadow which hangs over all expressions of male sexuality and to remove the conspiracy of silence which deadens the life — force. In short, to wash the wound which bleeds in male and female alike. But this approach to language flattens. Experience, we are taught and believe, must first be explained and then felt. The reverse is of course the method we always use, but this time is the most exciting of all; the groundswell of realisation that it can be done differently is assuming enormous proportions.
