It comes as a double gatefold album featuring the bonus track "Laika" (14:35). Biosphere is widely-regarded as one of the legendary names in ambient/electronic music. Residing in Norway, near the Arctic Circle, he has found the focus to slowly and steadily create a self-contained aural universe, made up of reflective and immersive sound sculptures. For almost 15 years, he has released a string of critically-acclaimed albums. 1997's Substrata, which marked Jenssen's embarkation towards an intensely minimal style, is not only often considered to be Jenssen's best work to date, but is also seen as one of the all-time classic ambient albums. VA Fly Rocket Fly: From The Jungle To The Stars LP+CD
LP version. Includes CD. Long before Elon Musk reached for the stars with his SpaceX project, a Swabian engineer by the name of Lutz Kayser harbored his own childhood dream of a voyage into space. Fly Rocket Fly - Mit Macheten Zu Den Sternen ("To The Stars With Machetes") tells the remarkable story of how he and a dedicated band of Stuttgart engineers founded the world's first private space exploration enterprise: Orbital Transport-und Raketen Aktiengesellschaft, or OTRAG (Orbital Transport and Rockets Inc.). Having enlisted Wernher von Braun as scientific adviser, this early start-up developed a rocket in the late 1960s on the principle of low cost rather than high tech. Windscreen wiper motors were deployed in valve control systems, for example. Kayser's search for a suitable development site led him to African dictator Mobutu Sese Seko who signed off on a deal to allow OTRAG to establish a launch facility in the Congolese jungle. OTRAG built their very own German Cape Canaveral in an area the size of the former GDR, complete with its own butcher's shop and marijuana plantation. They successfully launched several rockets to suborbital altitude before the global political crisis of the mid-1970s put an end to OTRAG's activities. Nobody wanted to see German rockets in the skies over the African jungle (or anywhere else) 30 years after the war -- Fly Rocket Fly is a madcap mix of adventure, political thriller, farce and economic drama -- somewhere between Fitzcarraldo (1982), The Wages of Fear (1953) and Tintin: Explorers On The Moon. The documentary's soundtrack, to be released on Hamburg-based label Bureau B, features songs by the likes of ESB, Camera, Conrad Schnitzler, Günter Schickert, Die Wilde Jagd, as well as new productions from film composer Heiko Maile. Also features Solyst, Dennis Young, Rolf Trostel, and Moebius Neumeier Engler. CD includes three bonus tracks.

LAPRE Auferstehung: Elektronische Musik aus Berlin 1983/1984 LP
LP version. In 1983, electronic musician Rudolf Langer (Tyndall) and guitarist Peter Preuß teamed up to form a duo by the name of LAPRE (LAnger + PREuß). Aligned with the second generation of the Berlin School, their output is incredibly varied: from repetitive sequencer patterns via playfully cheerful synth pop all the way to atmospheric, hypnotic minor key expanses. It's all there. By 1984, LAPRE had released two tapes and a 12" vinyl. Bureau B's compilation presents the most compelling tracks from these releases. Rudolf Langer began his musical career as one half of Tyndall. The duo released four albums on Sky Records between 1979 and 1983. By the time the two musicians reached the fourth album (BB 289CD/LP), they were barely on speaking terms, so each recorded one side of the LP on his own. The split from his former partner turned out to be a liberating experience for Rudolf Langer, both in a personal and artistic sense. As luck would have it, Langer was riding home one night with a colleague from work, Peter Preuß, and a tape machine was lying on the back seat of the car. It turned out that Preuß was also a musician, a guitarist in fact, and they decided to hook up for a jam session. The results were hugely promising and a plan was made to record together. What should they call the project? The answer was simple -- take the first letters of their names. LAnger + PREuß = LAPRE. They worked on track after track after track and produced two tapes over the next two years ("Tedan" in 1983 and "Flokati" in 1984), each numbering 30?50 copies, intended for sale at concerts. A 12" single on their own label (Oeso) followed later in 1984. Although guitar features on every track, LAPRE's early recordings relate to the Berlin School, with their music, specifically their use of synthesizers, echoing the tradition of Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, et al. LAPRE's mix of analog synthesizers, acoustic guitars and drum computers saw the duo occupy a previously uncharted niche in electronic music. How wonderful to see these recordings being made available to a wider audience over thirty years later. First time CD release for all tracks.

LUCIANO Sequentia Vol. 1 2x12"
Luciano has arranged Sequentia, a special series of four releases as part of the 2018 celebrations for the fifteen years anniversary of his own Cadenza Records, launched here with Sequentia Vol. 1 to begin the festivities. Each episode is coming out in a different season of the year; the present one, dedicated to the summertime and contains five enchanting tracks with an exquisite sound. This series is just one of the astonishing surprises that Luciano has set aside for the birthday of his beloved label. The show begins with "The Amazing Lilou", a crispy ariose tune with elaborated percussions and calypso-flavored synthesizers. "Hiding Hearts" is a Latin prelude with pleasant guitars and restful melodies, flowing with joy and peace. "Nabusima" is another Caribbean spell, with carefully mixed drums and elevating harmonies. "Magik Mechanics" explores complex broken beats and electronic textures, drawing a colored narration in between a fairy tale and a sci-fi movie. Finally, "Tirana del Oriente", as disclosed by the title, is a trip into the ardent magic of the Orient. Sequentia Vol. 1 is a collection of five long, summery compositions to accompany our hot pleasing days from the dawn 'til dusk, holding our hands during a never-ending daydream. Gatefold sleeve.

RESIDENTS, THE I Am A Resident! (Two-Disc Special Edition) 2CD
Two-disc special edition. "The Residents, long known as the world's most mysterious and reclusive band, are pleased to announce a new chapter in their lengthy and legendary career. Teaming up with PledgeMusic, the group is releasing not just a new album but a completely new concept: I Am A Resident! After inviting their fans to create original versions of the band's songs, The Residents were blown away by the submission of 197 amazing pieces of music. Stimulated by this outpouring of creativity, the group molded this material into the ultimate mashup: editing, looping, over dubbing and regurgitating, The Residents reinterpreted their fans' interpretations, resulting in layer on top of layer on top of layer. Hauntingly familiar and achingly wrong at the same time, I Am A Resident! is both original and completely unexpected. It also only fits into one singular category -- a Residents' album."

The Brazilian-in-Barcelona known as TERR takes time out from her new live show to touch down on planet Correspondant with Neuromancer. Authentic down to the last wavy synth idiosyncrasies, both the title track and "Multiverse" further extend the analog dialog for which TERR is known. The title track swaggers with loose drum charm but swoons with sweeping synth emotion while the latter struts with late night neon fantasies and a stirring sense of synth triumph, while Krystal Klear contributes a remix. This is TERR at her most adventurous, detailed and ultimately hopeful with a strong sense of sci-fi mystique.

TRYAD If Only You Believe In Lovin' LP
Restocked, new lower price. Del Val Records present a reissue of Tryad's If Only You Believe In Lovin', originally released in 1971 as a private press. Ultra-deluxe LP reissue on the newly resurrected Del Val label -- obscure but legendary label previously responsible for early editions by The Brigade, The Bachs, Bent Wind, D.R. Hooker, Fifty Foot Hose, etc. Long overdue and much delayed reissue of this 1971 NYC private press few have heard and less have seen. Comparable to the best UK folk-fusion LPs of the era, this is like a Yankee version of Hunter Muskett's great Every Time You Move (1970) with co-ed vocals plus bass/drums/pedal steel/flute/keys accompaniment and East Coast haunted not West Coast hip, though you'll be reminded of a certain revered private from out there that wouldn't exist for another five years: Relatively Clean Rivers. Comes with a four page lyric insert and the cover is what they were made like fifty years ago."Low key but really cool. Hard to believe it's an NYC piece from '72 from a sonic aspect. There's a kind of innocence to overall heft that puts me in mind of very early Bay Area stuff, like the second We Five LP (1967). That same sort of psych-is-hanging-unnamed-in-the-background vibe. The only thing that really places it in the '70s is that pedal steel which has a definite post-Sneaky-Pete feel. Very cool." --Byron Coley

It's also a nostalgically-observed piece of electronic jazz, the dominant motifs of which transport one into a crepuscular world of uncertainty and disquiet."

CAPITOL K Goatherder LP
Goatherder is the seventh album from underground London producer Kristian Craig Robinson, AKA Capitol K. This ace manipulator of audio and punk warlord of groove has crossed a tapestry of styles and approaches with his own secret compass since 1998. Along with everything from Chinese pop to the marching band music of the United Arab Emirates in his early musical vocabulary, the influence of rave, new wave, grunge, and noise-core would collide to create a bold new sound. The last seven years have seen Capitol K's stature as a producer elevated with his establishment of the renowned Total Refreshment Studio and recording work with musicians such as the Mercury Music prize nominated The Comet Is Coming, global dance act Ibibio Sound Machine, the pan-Arabic Flamingods, Serafina Steer and her BAS JAN project, and contemporary folk artist Rozi Plain, among many more. This latest work was developed and recorded in his native Malta, where he built a studio in a cave (a former goat stable). K gathered bamboo instruments collected around the world, including an ancient Quecha reed-pipe (his new-found lead instrument), and various resonating vessels and percussive objects including dry fennel storks collected from Punic troglodyte sites, and atonal flutes built from fresh cut farmland reed. Ritualistic improvisations took place over a series of seasonal visits, awakening genetic memory and plant communication. Back in London the tracks were interfaced and expanded with post-industrial machine beat and bass guitar lock down. Homage is paid to new age synthscapes, while a spirit jazz overtone arrives from K's recent years as the sonic muscle behind a plethora of luminous albums born in his Total Refreshment Studio. Goatherder follows on from the 2016 collaborative incarnation Loose Meat and sonically abridges 2012's Capitol K album Andean Dub. Outside of studio production and his solo repertoire as Capitol K, Kristian has toured as guest musician with multiple bands over the last 15 years, including Brazil's Cibelle, Archie Bronson Outfit, and Du Blonde. His last project, Loose Meat, was a collaborative album of poetic dance music received lots of radio play in the UK and toured across the country for a year, performing a number of festivals. He established the Faith And Industry record label which handled his subsequent releases. He now releases a number of other artists through this label that he develops and produces.

JELINEK, JAN Zwischen LP
Repressed. Faitiche release a short version of the radio play Zwischen (German for "between"). Devised and produced by Jan Jelinek for German public broadcaster SWR2, Zwischen brings together twelve sound poetry collages using interview answers by public figures. Each collage consists of the brief moments between the spoken words: silences, pauses for breath, and hesitations in which the interviewees utter non-semantic sound particles. These voice collages also control a synthesizer, creating electronic sounds that overlay and merge with the voices to make twelve acoustic structures. We all know the speaker's fate: you falter, you mispronounce, there are breaks, silences, and false starts. This results in delays, a language noise compared by Roland Barthes to the knocks made by a malfunctioning motor. Such gaps can be disconcerting, standing as they do for a failure of the speaker's rhetorical skills. But what happens when they become a constitutive, poetic factor? Zwischen consists of twelve answers to twelve questions. The answers were all recorded in interview situations. From the speech of the interviewees -- all eloquent public figures -- the pauses are extracted and edited together. The result is a series of sound collages of silence. But this silence is deceptive, as it is only meaning that falls silent. What remains audible is an archaic body language: modes of breathing, planning phases, seething word particles in search of sense that can break out into onomatopoeic tumult or drift off into sonorous noise. In a further step, each of the twelve collages controls a modular synthesizer via its amplitude and frequency. Supposedly defective speech acts conduct synthetic sounds and the speakers regain their composure -- not via the spoken word, but through sound. The opening questions in the various interviews are answered by: Alice Schwarzer, John Cage, Hubert Fichte, Slavoj Zizek, Joseph Beuys, Lady Gaga, Ernst Jandl, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Marcel Duchamp, Friederike Mayröcker, Yoko Ono, and Max Ernst. Jelinek extends his thanks to Frank Halbig and SWR2. Includes download code; Edition of 500.

MONTGOMERY, ROY Suffuse CD
"Despite praise and acclaim throughout his career, Roy Montgomery hates his singing. From his point of view, it's done out of necessity, when he doesn't have anyone else around to substitute. Roughly one quarter of Montgomery's epic multi-album 2016 release R M H Q had his singing, and those are his least favorite tracks. Grapefruit has done the best they can to argue that his basso undertones are the center of his appeal throughout his entire body of work, from the first The Pin Group single on Flying Nun in 1981, through his work in Dadamah, Dissolve and on to his legendary '90s solo releases. However, is it a surprise he jumped at the idea of composing an album for other vocalists. This began as a series of alternate takes of the material on Tropic Of Anodyne, the tracks with vocals off his last release. That concept morphed into assembling vocalists to sing on new songs, and he conceived instrumental material that would fit each singer. Half of the songs came together, resulting in Suffuse. The album charts a slow progression from those who share similarities with Montgomery's rumbling vocal technique to those who come at singing differently, with minute contrasts throughout. Haley Fohr (Circuit des Yeux) and Jessica Larrabee (She Keeps Bees) bring the first two tracks, with Katie Von Schleicher following with a raw expression of emotional loss, and the sisters Clementine and Valentine Nixon (Purple Pilgrims) expressing emptiness by stripping away words, weaving their voices together through Montgomery's elastic webbing. Julianna Barwick adds drive and nuance to the foamy sonic waves of 'Sigma Octantis,' as 'Landfall' crashes in slow motion chaos over Liz Harris's (Grouper) multi-tracked layers. These compositions generously embrace their guest leaders, and for the first time in his career, Roy Montgomery has made a cogent artistic argument as to why he shouldn't be singing these songs himself."

PERRY VS BUNNY "STRIKER" LEE, LEE Dub Soundclash LP
LP version. What two great producers other than Lee Perry and Bunny Lee would be best suited for a Dub Soundclash? Both producers were integral at the birth of dub music and would share many rhythms and sessions -- their musical paths would cross all through their careers. It was in fact Bunny Lee's rhythm that provided the back drop to Lee Perry's "Shocks Of Mighty" cut. Jobs were passed from one to the other, Bunny Lee taking over Lee Perry's position at WIRL Records. Yes, two producers whose paths always seemed to cross as it does with this release. Jamaican Recordings have selected some of Lee Perry's rhythms, the first half of this set, against some Bunny Lee rhythm on the second half. You can hear the distinctive sound of Lee Perry's Black Ark studio with his echoplex giving his trademark whirling sound against Bunny Lee's rhythms cut at many different studios. The winner of the Soundclash? That is up to you the listener... But in this dub session there is no loser...

MIGHTY DIAMONDS Leaders Of Black Countries CD
The Mighty Diamonds are one of the most famous vocal groups to come out of the Jamaican reggae scene. Their perfect harmonies ride over the wholesome and Garveyite influenced lyrics to such great effect that they will always evoke memories of that time and place, but also like all great music, it never seems to date. The Mighty Diamonds consist of Donald 'Tappy' Shaw (lead vocals), Fitzroy 'Bunny' Simpson, and Lloyd 'Judge' Ferguson providing those fantastic harmonies. They began their recording career working with producers Stranger Cole and Rupie Edwards but found their breakthrough success with producer Joseph 'Joe Joe' Hookim at the legendary Channel One Studios recording "Hey Girl" and covering two foreign tunes, namely "Country Living" by The Stylistics and "Stoned Out Of Mind" by The Chi-lites, which suited their vocal styles perfectly. The vocal group also cut tracks with other famous producers of the time Joe Gibbs, Gussie Clarke, and Tappa Zukie of which are a focus on this release on. These tunes work perfectly with harmonies, weaving together and lifting the songs to another level. The group also leave some room for a history lesson in the shape of "Morgan The Pirate" and the thought provoking "Do You Want To Spend Your Time Wasting Time". Waste no more and enjoy this set by one of Jamaica's finest vocal groups. "Pirates (DJ Version)" features Tullo T. CD version includes three bonus tracks.

"Muddy Waters changed everything. A singular powerhouse whose electrified approach jump-started an entire new musical era, he crafted a modern blues reality so potent and loaded with soul deep appeal that it was like a portal to a new world, one where all who entered were made a gift of Muddy's singular philosophical rhythms and truth. And as a ringmaster for rock & roll -- a Godfather who not only facilitated but also participated by leading Chuck Berry to the recording studio, inspiring and touring with the Rolling Stones -- he is completely unique all over again. His legendary 1950's band's epic Delta funk meets high South Side voltage approach was without peer, and Muddy's warm, self-possessed authority, together with the audacious, aggression of Little Walter's harmonica and Otis Spann's moving, expressive piano made for an irresistibly raw, insanely perfected unit, one that is captured here in all of its splendid, hard-driving grandeur."

LITTLE WALTER The Best of Little Walter LP
"Blues harmonica innovator Little Walter was a critically important creative force. Between his brilliant, combustible playing and revolutionary technique -- the very first musician to bring the microphone right up to the instrument, cupped within his hands -- Little Walter exerted an influence so pervasive and profound that he has assumed an almost mythological stature in blues hierarchy. Whether on his own or as a member of Muddy Waters' band, Little Walter's classic recordings redefined and elevated mid-century Chicago blues to a bold new artistic plateau. His was an innate musicality, equal parts intimacy and intensity, never predictable, always deeply expressive and completely original, a stunning, unprecedented combination that has won Little Walter universal recognition as one of the blues premier stylists."

HOWLIN' WOLF Moanin' In The Moonlight LP
"Howlin' Wolf's voice, once heard, can never be forgotten -- coarse, rasping, his almost violent growl and eerie falsetto ruled the blues. A larger than life, almost mythic figure whose significance and influence still echoes through American music, Wolf's canny synthesis of Mississippi tradition, aggressive creativity and expressive power elevated him to the pinnacle of blues demonology. Equally at ease conjuring full throated rampage and lowdown contemplation, Howlin' Wolf's mixture of raw dynamism and subtle emotion was unrivaled. When soon the singer walked out of the Arkansas cotton fields and into a Memphis studio in 1951, the blues were never the same again, and when Chess released 1959's Moanin' in the Moonlight, the first ever Wolf LP, everything changed. Packed with unforgettable classics, the album showcases Wolf's full, powerhouse blues spectrum, and it's an electrifying experience from start to finish."

WILLIAMSON, SONNY BOY Down And Out Blues LP
"One of the blues all-time finest practitioners, singer-harmonica player Sonny Boy Williamson's earthy yet elegant approach was as distinctive as it is irresistible. And this bonus-track loaded edition of his 1959 debut album -- enhanced by 11 classic bonus tracks -- is a perfect showcase for the famed musician. A sensation since his 1941 start broadcasting on the famed King Biscuit Time radio show, Williamson's dynamism and soulful execution were second to none. Captured here at the height of his formidable powers, Williamson's swinging, evocative style is given ideal support by such famed accompanists as Muddy Waters, pianist Otis Spann and bassist-composer Willie Dixon -- a stellar summit of blues talent whose combined impact and authority qualify these tracks as some of the genres very finest."

HOWLIN' WOLF Howlin' Wolf LP
"Howlin' Wolf's intense, soulful brand of blues was unrivaled. Larger than life, brilliantly expressive, Wolf's mix of raw emotion and far reaching, almost mystical songs grab ahold of the listener and refuse to let go. His supercharged shout still resonates across the decades, both as an unforgettable, profoundly influential voice and as a maverick artist who completely redefined the blues. Wolf's powerful fusion of Delta tradition and his own highly personalized style is never less than electrifying, a hot, sweet, rampaging bellow unlike anything that came before or after. As Sam Phillips famously said, Howlin' Wolf 'had such a soulful sound that when it came out, it was as if everything just stopped, everything that was going on. Time stopped. Everything stopped. JAMES, ETTA At Last! LP
"Etta James' extraordinary transition from bawdy, romping teenage R&B brat to one of the key female originators of classic smoldering 60's soul was a madcap escapade full of controversy, fireworks and high times. A stunning natural born talent whose earliest recordings showcased her gorgeous set of blues-belting pipes to tremendous advantage, James consistently demonstrated a preternatural depth, one that really came into its own with this revered 1960 set. Her first full length album, it's an audacious mix of pop and jazz standards served up with a twist of blues, and all are artfully rendered to perfection. A brilliant, unpredictable vocalist, James' fluid, graceful phrasing showcases a rare, instinctive prowess, one that effortlessly ranges from a steam heated murmur to the glorious, sweeping highs that made At Last a stone classic."

AOYAMA, MICHIRU Brilliant Days LP
The second vinyl release on Mirae Arts comes courtesy of Michiru Aoyama, a Japanese ambient producer from the quiet seaside city of Kamakura, just south of Tokyo. Michiru Aoyama's music was hand-chosen by legendary composer Ryuichi Sakamoto in 2006 for a Japanese radio audition and he later flew out to Berlin in 2008 to further his studies in electronic music production. Since then, Michiru has released projects on prominent ambient labels such as Organic Industries, taâlem, and Somehow Recordings. Michiru Aoyama's Brilliant Days comprises of two long tracks featuring untitled songs that weave in and out of each other. Michiru's signature guitar harmonics are treated with serene electronic filters and met with youthful under-layers of electronic experimentations and glitchy backdrops. Instead of telling a story, Brilliant Days leaves the listener to their own narrative of nostalgic youth, love, and memories. Artwork illustration is done by Sydney-based architect, Patti Bai. Mastered by James Plotkin. 180 gram vinyl pressed at Gotta Groove Records, Cleveland, Ohio. Includes insert and download code.

LALI PUNA Two Windows LP
2018 repress; LP version. Printed inner sleeve; Includes download code. The world has changed rapidly since Lali Puna released Our Inventions in 2010 (MORR 098CD/LP), a fact that is also reflected in the band's fifth album, Two Windows. Written and produced over almost two years, these twelve new songs meet those changes head-on both musically and lyrically. Songwriter and singer Valerie Trebeljahr and long-time band members Christian "Taison" Heiß and Christoph Brandner -- Two Windows is the first album recorded after Markus Acher's departure from the band -- opted for a more dancefloor-friendly sound while not neglecting the pop sentiments rooted in Lali Puna's sound. Taking its cues from a brand of music spearheaded by the likes of Caribou, Ada, or even Mount Kimbie, Two Windows sounds lush and focused, balancing the emotional qualities of Trebeljahr's songwriting with energetic rhythms. A tour in South Korea rekindled Trebeljahr's urge to make music after she had focused her career as a journalist as well as on her family. While she was mostly working on new material with Heiß, Trebeljahr also sought out collaborations: Keith Tenniswood (Two Lone Swordsmen) contributes as Radioactive Man; Dntel, aka Jimmy Tamborello, is featured; harpist and Ghostly International alumna Mary Lattimore and experimental artist Midori Hirano (MimiCof) also appear. While Two Windows is thus partly a collaborative effort, it is first and foremost an album about emancipation and a new beginning for Lali Puna. The album explores topics including personal freedom, the presence of surveillance technologies in our lives, and the progressive gentrification of urban centers. Two Windows is not an explicitly political album however. In fact, much like a window, Trebeljahr's lyrics always allow their listeners to look at things from two sides. While they emphasize problems, they also empathize with those who have to put up with them. Trebeljahr has not come to preach, but wants to forge emotional connections. Musically speaking, the lyrical subtleties are reflected in a well-defined sound that likes to shake things up as well. Gender-flipping an old Kings Of Leon tune to present a great piece of music in an entirely different context? You possibly wouldn't expect that on a Lali Puna record, but as Trebeljahr sings herself in "Wonderland": "Cause all things will change / Cause all things must change". Two Windows, an album about emancipation, presents the Lali Puna sound in a different light than before. Glossy artwork and printed inner sleeve.

HENRY BLACKER The Making Of Junior Bonner LP
Third full-length from Somerset trio Henry Blacker, follow-up to 2013's Hungry Dogs Will Eat Dirty Puddings (REPOSE 045CD) and 2015's Summer Tombs (REPOSE 045LP). As with the first two Riot Season is again taking on the release. Henry Blacker formed because there's nothing to do in Somerset. They formed because the other band they play with (Hey Colossus) rehearse in London and they wanted a band they didn't need to travel the width of the country to jam with. This nine-song, 40-minute record lyrically covers the downtrodden, shaking them with lysergically gloopy riffs of both the upbeat and downbeat nature. It is perfectly suited for 30 people in a bar having a night of pints. Or a packed venue in some exotic hot spot full of characters having a night of white wines. Or would sit nicely soundtracking a person at home secretly having a night of cans alone, drowning their misery under the weight of an eight-pack of European strength lager. Inspiration comes from all the desert rock bands and angular punk rock bands that always get listed on these things, you can imagine. Bands that list bands on these things and want you to think they sound like them are ridiculous. They did recently get included on Bandcamp's "Top Ten UK Noiserock bands", but that list didn't include Drunk In Hell so it's not to be trusted. This record was recorded in Bristol and Barton St David by Ben Turner. Look up Barton St David, it's in the middle of nowhere and it's really lovely. It's also where Henry Blacker rehearse. It's got it all, and biscuits on top. Housed in 350gsm printed sleeve; Includes download code; Edition of 300.

BLACK HELIUM Primitive Fuck LP
Black Helium are a four-piece that formed in 2016 for a special one-off Halloween gig at the notoriously heady Guild Navigator club in East London and have since spread their sonic gumbo of hard-edged psychedelic head-fuckery and Neanderthal glam rock swagger across the country. Heavy friends Stuart Gray (vocals, guitar), Beck Harvey (vocals, bass) Davey Mulka (guitar), and Ben Davies (drums) went on to record their debut, Primitive Fuck, at Hermitage Studios with Margo Broom in March 2017. Although, Ben Davies disappeared abruptly after recording his drum tracks after experiencing a "profound life-changing mystical occurrence". Influenced by bands such as Black Sabbath, Hawkwind, Amon Düül II, and The Stooges, Primitive Fuck channels an era when psychedelic rock stood for mind expanding eclecticism and hip-shaking sonic hedonism in equal measure, moving from motor city heroism, to shapeless kosmische, ambient ego-death via space ritual riff worship. Now, with new drummer, Diogo Gomes on board, Primitive Fuck represents the birth of a band your psychiatrist warned you about. "An absolutely epic fucking performance from Black Helium who were heavy as fuck and destroyed my already fragile mind with their Flying V twin attack sounding like Sabbath, Black Angels, Hawkwind and The Sweet battling in a monster riff shop." --Spencer Hickman (Death Waltz Records, Transmission Records) Full color sleeve with insert; Includes download code; Edition of 300.

AG KAEDY, AHMED Orion Congregation LP
LP version. Orion Congregation is a live recording that perfectly captures the palpable raw excitement of a particularly memorable evening, the concluding date of a series of packed concerts which took place in various venues around Berlin in June 2017. Led by Ahmed Ag Kaedy's entrancing guitar licks, which seamlessly merge blues and rock with the traditional "Assouf"-style of his homeland, the pace soon quickens as the band pick up the gauntlet. The double-drummer, double-keyboard line-up produces a genuine Sensurround sound, enhanced by depth charge levels of bass action, blasts of saxophone fury, and storm clouds of electronic whooshes, sending the listener on a sonic rollercoaster with the controls set to the furthest constellation, with the volcanic drumming of Mahalmadane Traoré acting as rocket fuel. The audience hollers and whistles that crop up from time to time are an accurate reflection of the electric atmosphere that pervaded at every gig. Ahmed Ag Kaedy, who is featured in the documentary film Mali Blues (2016), founded the band Amanar de Kidal in 2005 (two records on Sahel Sounds) and worked with Fatoumata Diawara and Samba Touré. Kidal is a small town in North-East Mali which despite its size and relative isolation, has been the focal point for uprisings of Kel Tamasheq rebels against the Malian government for several decades. Ahmed Ag Kaedy's conscious lyrics stress the importance of education and development in a country plunged in deep turmoil. When the extremists took over his hometown, the suppression of music was one of the main points in their agenda. After being threatened with having his fingers cut off if he ever dared to play the guitar again, Ahmed Ag Kaedy decided to move to Bamako, where he still lives. Orion Congregation (or in Tamasheq, "Amanar Assafou", as it stands on the cover in the Tifinagh script) features a floating line-up revolving around Ahmed Ag Kaedy and drummer Mahalmadane Traoré from Amanar, and key members of two bands representing two generations and contrasting approaches to trans-continental fusion. Keyboard and duff player Michael Wehmeyer has been a member of the legendary German band Embryo since 1977, and the remaining musicians, saxophonist, flutist, and synthesizer player Johannes Schleiermacher, and keyboard player Jörg Hochapfel (both members of Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra), drummer Bernd Oezsevim (who, along with Schleiermacher, plays in Gunter Hampel's Trio), and bassist Kalle Enkelmann (Julia Kadel Trio). Recorded live at BLO-Ateliers, Berlin, June 28, 2017.

MATTSON 2 Play "A Love Supreme" CD
"John Coltrane's 1965 magnum opus A Love Supreme is one of the most revered and influential recordings in the history of jazz, widely regarded as the iconic saxophonist's masterpiece. It might seem audacious at the very least to undertake a new recording of such a foundational album, but twin brothers Jared and Jonathan Mattson are nothing if not sonic risk-takers. With their new release Mattson 2 Play A Love Supreme, the duo reimagines Coltrane's avant-garde epic through a 21st-century lens, creating a new interpretation that remains faithful to the questing spirit of the original while pushing the music into bold new territory-- which itself is fully in keeping with the composer's forward-looking vision. The album translates the Coltrane Quartet's acoustic jazz explorations into a modern language swathed in a haze of analog synths, ecstatic guitars, transcendent grooves and enveloping atmospherics. The duo undertook an intensive study of the original composition, Coltrane's notes, and every available recording by the Coltrane Quartet as well as later versions by the likes of John McLaughlin, Branford Marsalis and Alice Coltrane. They used that vocabulary to create their own take, which they honed through invaluable live performances before audiences largely unfamiliar with the original. 'It was so incredible to see the way that a rock fans connected with the music,' Jonathan recalls. 'There was yelling and crying, people getting really stoked and devouring every note we were playing. Seeing people's minds getting blown by Coltrane's music, was an inspiration for us.' Those visceral reactions attest to the continuing impact of Coltrane's bold vision. This album channels that vision with both reverence and inventiveness, creating a vibrant and electrifying new interpretation that will resonate with new generations of open-minded listeners."

Blue Chemise documents the hermetic sound world of Australia's Mark Gomes. Daughters Of Time follows 2017's brilliant full-length Influence On Dusk, released in micro-edition on Gomes's own Greedy Ventilator imprint. It is an elegiac set of vignettes recorded straight to dictaphone with minimal post-production. These pieces function in a manner akin to Loren Connor's evocative "airs", conjuring poignant, intangible senses of longing and nostalgia then disappearing well before overstaying their welcome. Regarding their genesis, Gomes points to a quote from Australian artist Robert Hunter: "It's like I'm external to them. They develop their own assertion and character; their becoming finished is a thing they decide themselves. It's unexplainable."

WOODWARD AND THE WINTER ORPHANS, DAVEY Davey Woodward And The Winter Orphans LP+CD
LP version. Includes CD. Davey Woodward has been a prolific songwriter with his bands The Brilliant Corners and The Experimental Pop Band. An indie pop legend to some, obscure outsider to most. He approaches his fourth decade making alternative music with the same enthusiasm and single mindedness as he did in the first. Having recently finished recording with Karen, Davey had an idea that he wanted to record an album of songs quickly with people he had never worked with before. Davey knew the songs had to sound effortless, in many ways go back to a time when artists like Bowie would go into the studio without finished songs or someone like Dylan would work the song out while the tape was rolling. He did not want the songs to sound labored. The Winter Orphans were born. Julian (guitar) had not been in a studio for over a decade. Steve (drums) was playing in a million other bands but found time. Steve knew Mark who was a guitarist. Davey said well he can play bass and piano then! Davey played them the songs -- the lyrics were unfinished and the chords changed many times over the five rehearsals they had prior to the recording, which took place over a long weekend in July 2017. The band said they liked the songs. They told Davey the songs sounded very personal, were they? They said it reminded them of English folk, Courtney Barnett, the Velvets, The Band and Johnny Cash. With those kinds of references, it's no surprise that this record takes you back to a time when albums were a collection of songs that transported you to another place. Where you would be lost in someone else's world for half an hour. The words and music swirling around in your head for days on end. Feeling a connection with the artist. That's a special moment that is increasingly difficult to capture in the fast-forward world we now live in. A culture where actually listening to an album of songs in one go is a rare thing. So you need to make time, sit down, relax, and listen to this debut album. It won't disappoint. Davey Woodward And The Winter Orphans enjoyed recording this album so much that they plan to record another one.

ECHO BEDS Buried Language LP
"In December of 2016, Denver, CO industrial act Echo Beds suddenly found themselves locked out of their rehearsal space. Their gear was being held hostage as city officials all over the country cracked down on unsanctioned artist collectives and the various DIY structures where many outsider creators lived and worked. This weighed heavily on the duo, who spent the next eight months experimenting and writing the material what would become Buried Language in their living rooms. Deprived of their usual tools, they were forced to improvise using unfamiliar electronics and various cobbled together devices in order to flesh out the embryonic ideas. With the plight of their colleagues fresh in their minds, these new working conditions served to shape the industrial landscape of this release, their second full-length album and first for The Flenser. Formed in 2010, Echo Beds is comprised of Keith Curts and Tom Nelsen. The project began as a one-off live set played in a local warehouse and quickly grew from there. Sensing immediately that they'd only scratched the surface of their potential, the duo began experimenting with hand-built instruments and manufactured sounds -- such as recordings of broken glass and a metal filing cabinet -- in order to explore and interpret the sounds of industry as a sonic landscape. Over the years they have made a name for themselves with their visceral and abrasive live shows that often include a modified oil drum as percussion. This album should be viewed as a kind of exorcism steeped in metaphor and brimming with social commentary. The title references widespread overnight evictions and boarded-up rehearsal spaces / DIY venues across the country. It deals with a lack of transparency, and is the culmination of all the heartbreak, frustration, grief and rage and the cyclical nature of these space closures."

DICKS, TED Virgin Witch LP
Unreleased baroque jazz horror score to controversial lesbian sex cult witchcraft exploitation drama from 1973, composed by Ted Dicks, the man who wrote the Catweazle theme. Ted Dicks is not that well-known as a composer these days, but back in the mid-1960s he was composing library music as well as penning some of the greatest comedy songs of the era, including "Hole In The Ground" and "Right Said Fred". His work was performed by Kenneth Williams, Petula Clarke, Bernard Cribbins, Topol, and more. But until now, little has been known of his brief flirtation with film music. Virgin Witch was his first brush with film scoring -- one of only two score he wrote. The film was produced by legendary wrestling commentator Ken Walton (under his sexploitation pseudonym of Ralph Solomans), with the help of Hazel Adair, a woman famed for co-creating the long running UK TV soap Crossroads. Virgin Witch was a racey film, turned down at least once for certification by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), passed uncut with an X for release just in London, then cut and passed for general release shortly afterwards. The score itself is a unique and quite beautiful pop baroque work, utilizing the cimbalom, an instrument more than likely played here by Ipcress File (1965) musician John Leach. A very limited release of a most unique 1970s pop horror lesbian witch score. Full color, eye-catching sleeve with great sleeve notes.

GEMMY Unruly EP 12"
Bristol dubstep mainstay Gemmy, a key figure in pioneering the city's electronic music identity, releases his latest EP Unruly on his World Of Wonders imprint. The new three-track EP shows off Gemmy's keen talent for crafting purple wave influenced dubstep. "Na Tek Bak Chat" is an intensely rhythmic and darkly spacious production, whilst the searing "Sonicboom" bristles with funky, grime-inflected rhythm. The propulsive "Stop Dat!" is a vividly expansive and minimal exploration of bass music.

PARMEGIANI, BERNARD Les Soleils De L'ile De Paques / La Brulure De Mille Soleils 2LP
Double LP version. 140 gram vinyl. Gatefold sleeve. Includes liner notes (French and English). WRWTFWW Records announce the release of two never-released-before soundtracks by French award-winning composer, audio experimenter, electroacoustic, and musique concrète magician, and all-around sound visionary Bernard Parmegiani, sourced from the original reels, and with English and French liner notes. Les Soleils De l'Île De Pâques (1972), by French director Pierre Kast, is a sci-fi feature which secured itself a well-deserved place in the pantheon of mysterious cult films thanks to hallucinatory (and superb) cinematography, exploration of supernatural phenomenon and occult symbolism, and one hell of a trippy atmosphere. La Brûlure De Mille Soleils (1965) also comes from Pierre Kast, but this time with the help of none other than writer, photographer, multimedia artist, homme à tout faire Chris Marker -- notably known for films La Jetée (1962), A Grin Without a Cat (1977), and Sans Soleil (1983) -- who edited this bizarre short to brain-melting results that live up to the promises of its synopsis: A depressed millionaire poet, accompanied by his cat Marcel and a sign language robot, travels in time to shake a persistent feeling of ennui and falls hopelessly in love with a woman from another planet. 'Nuff said! A renowned member of the prestigious GRM (Groupe De Recherches Musicales, the French equivalent of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop) and frequent collaborator of Pierre Schaeffer, Iannis Xenakis, and Pierre Henry, among others, Bernard Parmegiani does what he does best with these two rare soundtracks: create moods with electroacoustic experimentation, elevating the weird and hypnotic with soundscapes from other dimensions, and cementing his status as a true innovator.
