LEGEND: From the Fjords LP (ANM 009LP) 29.00
"1979 progressive heavy rock masterpiece that set the flame for the epic metal genre a few years later. Connecticut's Legend had their record released as a private pressing of a mere 500 copies, which now changes hands for $700 and more. Over the last 15 years and specially due to the internet share of information on underground cult gems, this monster grew and grew in popularity and price. This power-trio shared their love for Sabbath/Heep/Rush and others of the genre, but also fusion rock like Mahavishnu Orchestra. Their imaginary revolved around epic fantasy, especially Viking mythology. Legend was a power trio, full of great musical ideas and concepts that unfortunately didn't had a place in a 1979 garbage filled music industry. The band ended up in 1980 and changed name to Mercenary which only released a single in 1981. Acid Nightmare proudly releases this heavy/prog classic on a limited edition of 400 copies with lyrics insert. Do not miss this. If you still don't know Legend, you're playing in the wrong league."

PHAELEH: Tides 2x12"+CD (AFTR 002LP) 22.00
Double LP with CD. Since his debut release in 2008, Phaeleh aka Matt Preston has developed an inimitable style of cinematic electronic music, which floats between the shifting tempos and timbres of dubstep, garage, electronica, and house music. Phaeleh's last two full-length releases on Afterglo records -- Fallen Light and The Cold In You -- have cemented his position as one of the most exciting new producers to emerge from his current hometown, Bristol. Phaeleh's downbeat and heartfelt sound honors the tradition of Bristolian forefathers Massive Attack, Smith & Mighty, and Portishead, with a fresh outlook and penchant for sub-sonics. This time, he's skirted round the easy option and stepped away from any formulas that seemed too comfortable. Tides is very much an album that Phaeleh wanted to listen to, rather than one that he thought people wanted to hear. Aiming to achieve a more cinematic, musical experience while still retaining the same emotional content of the early releases, he's filtered in influences ranging from Philip Glass to Massive Attack and Boards Of Canada but maintaining a sound that is distinctively Phaeleh. His back catalog has already seen him establish a strong fanbase. Fallen Light and The Cold In You have sold over 200k downloads and contributed to a staggering tally of more than 2 million monthly views on YouTube. This is supplemented by 65k+ Facebook fans and a Soundcloud following that turns over 75k plays per month, while he has also been readily embraced on the airwaves as well, picking up support across Radio 1, 6 Music, 1Xtra, Kiss, and Rinse FM. He's also risen to prominence as an in-demand remixer, reworking artists as diverse as chart-topping dance outfit Rudimental to classical composer Ludovico Einaudi, via much-hyped pop acts such as Charli XCX and Niki & The Dove. His second album proper, Tides, is an evolutionary step with taut songcraft and melancholic tones. It features vocals by Jess Mills, Soundmouse (who collaborated on his most popular songs), and Augustus Ghost (one-half of Snow Ghosts with Throwing Snow), who will also be performing alongside Phaeleh on his live dates in the U.S.

BURKE, JOSH: Prana LP (ZORN 001LP) 20.00
2010 release. "Relax and imagine yourself hovering above the returning current, submerged in the presence of universal water." Josh Burke continues his endeavor into new age. With relaxing synths, and the occasional outbreak, the man behind Sky Limousine and the illustre Midnight Star Media takes you to space and back in just over 30 minutes. Iasos seems to have been watching over his shoulder when recording this album. There are some faster, more layered tracks varied with some bare, minimal, classical new age tracks. It makes the perfect mix and relaxing listening experience. Comes with an insert and released in an edition of 330.

MCCANN, SEAN: The Capital LP (ZORN 007LP) 23.00
2011 release. Second vinyl release The Capital by rising drone star Sean McCann. These recordings prove -- once again -- his ability to keep his stretched-out and richly-textured ambient drones right on track. The A-side opens with synth spirals and ecstatic sounds -- there's no going back now. The B-side is full of violin explorations and lo-fi field recordings. This is an amazing effort by one of Earth's most promising musicians.

STELLAR OM SOURCE: Heartland's Suite LP (ZORN 012LP) 23.00
2011 release. EP/LP by Christelle Gualdi which compiles little masterpieces from the same time period when Trilogy Tapes was released. With influences ranging from new age to experimental electronic music, Christelle creates a wonderful and carefully layered album. After the release of the Trilogy Tapes on Olde English Spelling Bee in 2010 and the Rise In Planes from 2009, this is Stellar Om Source's third vinyl release to date. More to come! Recorded in 2009 at Angel Transfer, The Netherlands. Limited to 500 copies. Housed in a full-color thick cardboard sleeve. Pressed on 160 gram vinyl. Cover artwork by Christelle Gualdi. Mastered by Anders Peterson.

2011 release. This split LP sees the man/wife duo of Grant and Rachel Evans performing under their own solo projects. In recent years they have released a bunch of awesome tapes and CD-Rs on their label Hooker Vision. They also record and perform as drone-duo Quiet Evenings. This record was created to celebrate the crystal anniversary of the couple. And indeed, on both sides Grant and Rachel create sounds which sound like the perfect marriage. With stunningly beautiful collage artwork by Grant Evans. Mastered by Lawrence English.

PULSE EMITTER: Aeons LP (ZORN 017LP) 23.00
Pulse Emitter joins the Aguirre catalog with a stunning album full of clear cosmic tones for the new space age. Aeons, as the title suggests, is about different periods in time. "Pangaea" is ancient earth, "Hermits" is based on a panel of the Ghent Altarpiece representing Renaissance Europe, "Spaceship" is the future, and "Immortality" is an even more distant future where consciousness has been uploaded to computers and people live without bodies. Pulse Emitter (Daryl Groetsch from Portland, Oregon) began working with synthesizers while in music school in the '90s and took the Pulse Emitter name in 2003, creating synthesizer pads and patterns which drift through cosmic and nature settings. A veteran of the noise scene of the mid-2000s, the music has returned to something more melodic and layered in recent years. David Keenan has said "No one is making synth music that feels so organic, so rapturous and so 'in tune' with the contours of outer and inner space as Groetsch."

PANABRITE: Sub-Aquatic Meditation LP (ZORN 018LP) 23.00
Panabrite is the solo project of Seattle-based Norman Chambers, utilizing analog synthesis, vintage drum machines, various effects and occasional guitar. Inspired by science fiction, new age music, soundtracks and library production music, nature/science documentaries, and vintage electronic sounds. His first LP release Sub Aquatic Meditation is an exciting record replete with underwater tunes. The outer space & the deep blue sea collide into two sides of spellbinding adventures reminiscent of the early work of Oneohtrix Point Never, Jürgen Müller and Dolphins Into The Future. Panabrite works in the hazy, analog synth-laden zone between kosmische drift and new age waft. He launches beatless symphonies of fibrillating, smeared whorls and drones that make you feel like the star of a weird nature documentary or a sci-fi blockbuster from 1977. Chambers excels at evoking both the intimate and the epic with his scrupulously wrought arpeggios and ostinatos. Norm also runs the fantastic Lunar Atrium blog and has previously released tapes and CD-Rs on Digitalis, Hobo Cult Records, Cylindrical Habitat Modules and Gift Tapes.

CVLTS: Realiser LP (ZORN 024LP) 25.00
The Kansas post-hypnagogia psych enigma CVLTS create a strange distillation of improvisation, keyboards, loops and field recordings. Song-length carpets of sound with the occasional attempt at dream pop. CVLTS are the Kings of Haze and they will make all your dreams come true.

AU 1002CD

RUSSELL, ARTHUR: World of Echo CD (AU 1002CD) 15.00
"Audika Records quietly celebrates it's ten year anniversary with a revised artwork edition of Arthur Russell's seminal classic, World Of Echo on CD in an edition of 500. The packaging is loosely based on the original LP cover art from 1986 now housed in a tri-fold digipak with a rare image of Arthur (and same liner notes + music as previous edition). 18 tracks are featured including drumless versions of his Disco classics 'Let's Go Swimming', 'Tree House' and 'Wax The Van' along with four previously unreleased tracks from Sketches From World Of Echo. Originally released on LP in 1986, World Of Echo is a deeply intimate and meditative work of awe-inspiring grace and remains a timeless work of sublime beauty. Arthur's aim was to achieve what he calls 'the most vivid rhythmic reality', with just cello, voice, and echoes. Arthur achieved all of this and more on one of the most amazing albums you will ever hear."

VANGELIS: Blade Runner Original Motion Picture Soundtrack CD/SACD (AFZ 154SACD) 29.00
"The Blade Runner soundtrack was composed by Vangelis for Ridley Scott's 1982 film, considered one of the finest sci-fi movies ever made. The soundtrack holds legendary status and at the time was well-received by fans and critics. It received Best Original Score nominations for a BAFTA and Golden Globe. Yet, it was not released in 1994. The movie remains a classic, with a long list of popular stars including Harrison Ford, Daryl Hannah, Rutget Hauer, Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos, most of whom on this SACD in movie dialog samples mixed into the 12 tracks. Vangelis makes each one flow into another. The 12-page booklet includes many colorful stills from the film. Blade Runner is a time classic on film. Now remastered and available on hybrid SACD. Will play on all CD players. We've even added a red tray!"

DARGE AND LITTLE EDITH, KEB: Legendary Wild Rockers 3 CD (BBE 238CD) 16.50
"Here we are again the third volume in the compilation series of Keb Darge and Little Edith, another glorious collection of rare rockabilly and surf from the '50s and early '60s." Artists: Ganimian & His Orientals, Angie & The Citations, Round Robin, Gene Maltais with The Gibson String Band, Johnny Knight, Phil Barclay and the Slidens, Tony and Jackie Lalmie with The Swing Kings, The Shindigs, Ole Miss Down Beats, Riki and The Rikatones, Marlon "Madman" Mitchell and The Rocketeers, Johnny Powers with the band of Stan Getz & Tom Cats, Eddie Gaines and The Rockin Five, Ray Taylor and Alabama Pals, Everett Carpenter, Untouchables, The Page Boys, Joe Lee and Orchestra, The Rebel Rousers and The Country Dudes.

DARGE AND LITTLE EDITH, KEB: Legendary Wild Rockers 3 2LP (BBE 238LP) 23.50
Gatefold double LP version.

BD 230EP

CONGO NATTY: Jah Warriors 12" (BD 230EP) 11.00
"The warm-up for the first full artist album by Mikail Tafari aka Congo Natty aka Rebel MC in twenty years -- the brimstone-heavy Jungle Revolution -- continues with the first full single taken from the record."

H-SIK: Sonic Rage/No Promises 12" (ACRE 043EP) 12.50
Amsterdam local, Ivory Coast progeny, and grime-juke-jungle gene-splicer, H-SIK makes his Black Acre debut in rude style with two concrete-junglist chemical weapons. First up is the muscular drum workout "Sonic Rage," which layers a ridiculously powerful, yet deftly-chopped 808-amen bombardment with delicate citric pads, bleeps and lost Droideka language. On the flip is the Orwellian "No Promises," a natural pairing of Vangelis-like atmospherics and committed drum-funk workout, building with undead voices and B-boy breakdowns.

LUSTMORD: The Word as Power 2LP (BLACKEST 004LP) 29.00
Gatefold double LP version. Lustmord first emerged as an associate of SPK in the early '80s, before embarking on a solo career that has yielded such classics as Heresy (1990), The Place Where the Black Stars Hang (1994) and (with Robert Rich) Stalker (1995). Lustmord has also contributed to numerous Hollywood films as music and sound designer, and collaborated with the likes of Clock DVA, Chris & Cosey, Geir Jenssen, The Melvins, Tool, Aaron Turner, Monte Cazazza, and Coil's Jhon Balance. Sometimes described as "dark ambient," his work simply goes deeper and further than conventional ambient dares to. Half a decade in the making, The Word as Power is his new studio album and an exploration of ritual music without dogma. For the first time in his 33-year career, Lustmord places vocals at the center of his abyssal ambient creations, coaxing incantatory performances out of Aina Skinnes Olsen, Jarboe (ex-Swans), Maynard James Keenan (Tool), and Soriah. Sonically, The Word as Power is even more detailed, expansive and consuming than Lustmord's followers have come to expect, with voices, electronics, immense sub-bass, field recordings, and other acoustic phenomena harnessed and arranged to stimulate feelings of dread and desolation, certainly, but also escape, renewal and rebirth.

ESA: Serenity in a Forbidden Place 12" (BRK 006EP) 14.00
Drummer, producer and DJ, Esa Williams aka Mervin Granger has been a resident at Glasgow's Sub Club for over half a decade. He runs his own label, Rememory, and also partners Brian D'Souza in the live presentation of Auntie Flo. This 12" captures his emotions upon returning to his native South Africa and the trials of becoming acquainted with his new home of Glasgow. Also includes a remix from Edinburgh's Fudge Fingas, which encapsulates both of the original tracks and adds FF's own distinctive slant.

VA: Cocoon Compilation M 6LP BOX (COR 035LP) 96.00
6LP box version. This is the thirteenth edition in the Cocoon label's alphabetically-named yearly Cocoon Compilation series, curated by label-head Sven Väth. Covered in the known and beloved package-design, but all in pink, this time. Dutch-based Sushitech-producer Makam presents a dreamy opening track that is without any doubt the perfect start for this compilation. Warm harmonies and dropping sounds open up the door for track number two by Matt Tolfrey and Inxec: "Never in Doubt" continues where Makam stopped, however Tolfreys and Inxec's harmonies and the moody atmosphere meet a solid beat programming and merge down to a pushing piece of music that could have seen the day of light in Detroit. Alejandro Mosso joins the club, full of positive energy and happiness. With a slight Cadenza-feeling, his tune is made for the next beach-party and perfect for all you Âme fans out there. "Grinding Love" wants you to move, forget, and dance 'til you sweat. Douglas Greed steps back a bit on the energy scale, but adds more craziness to the package with his production. "Dynamite" is a freaky piece of tech-house in a cool Green Velvet style. Waff's "Beatmakerz" is based on cool breakbeats and dark percussion, creating a rave anthem that merges some cool influences. Temma Teje's "Nueva" features Chymera-style strings, with straight-forward 909-programming. Kyle Geiger shows us another approach with house anthem synths and vocal parts that is something akin to "wild-pitch." Gary Beck's track features mental synth-stabs forming a banging floor-tool. Ray Kajioka's "Never Ending" features a cool sound-design and nice effects. Mind Against's "Argo" boasts Moroder-like arpeggios and elegant drum-programming. Finally, Tuff City Kids' "Meshnerize" is the most retro number in this selection and incorporates some nice '80s and '90s elements with warm analog synths, a New Order bass line, and the cool old skool drum programming. All of this together creates a powerful but dreamy ending to this compilation.

HONEYSLIDE: Drippin 10" (CRITTER 028EP) 15.50
"Swathed in reverb, bathed in noise and drowned in dreamy vocals, Honeyslide blend the experimental with the melodic to provide thrillingly provocative sounds. Based in London, their live shows are intense and brutally loud, having shared the stage with bands such as Holograms, Dignan Porch and Yucks bassists side project Parakeet."

LP version. "Thee Mighty Caesars were formed by Billy Childish in 1985 after the demise of The Milkshakes. They influenced many American bands, especially The Mummies, and Sub Pop groups. They were arguably the group that brought about the resurgence of garage rock." Reissue of 1986's Acropolis Now.

THEE MIGHTY CAESARS: Thee Caesars of Trash LP (DAMGOOD 398LP) 17.50
LP reissue of 1986's Thee Caesars of Trash.

LP reissue of 1987's Wiseblood.

IMPRESSIONS, THE: Rhythm!/Star Bright 7" (DAPT 1071EP) 7.00
"What do you get when you cross the legendary group harmony of the Impressions, with the savvy production stylings of Daptone's very own master of ceremonies and guitar dynamo, Binky Griptite? Easy, you get one of the finest collaborations that has ever been realized on seven inches of high quality vinyl. Ladies and gentlemen we present to the greater Daptone universe, the first single by The Impressions in over 30 years. Featuring original members Fred Cash, Sam Gooden, and Reggie Torrian, who has been singing with the group since the early '70s -- this single is the sweet soulful beauty you'd expect from the Impressions. No cheesy synthetic instruments or tryin-to-stay-contemporary 'beats' here. This is real soul music played by a real band and how sweet it is."

SYDENHAM, JEROME: Bicept 12" (DESOLAT 032EP) 12.50
On the Bicept EP Jerome Sydenham takes time out from running his renowned house imprint Ibadan Records to deliver a fantastic four track for Desolat. "Bicept" is a driving house track with incessant warm bass which cleverly builds through smartly-placed additional crisp percussion and short, echoing vocal snippets. "This Door" features some serious funk, combining uplifting keys and warm pads. "With the Bone" is another dancefloor-focused track, and "The Jockey" sees Jerome combine brilliantly with Quell on hypnotic and hedonistic journey.

ANTONA, MARC: Brush Rush EP 12" (DISS 017EP) 12.00
Marc Antona brings it back home in a blaze of fearless creativity with this new EP for his own label. "Brush Rush" channels the loose, surprising rhythms of jazz into a celebration of percussion to test the most drum-loving DJs, while "The Hack Fellow" delivers a seductive, hypnotic groove, taking us into a truly addictive musical journey.

H.O.S.H.: H.O.S.H. Presents Forever Young 10" (DIYNAMIC 066-A) 15.50
H.O.S.H. presents a special series on Diynamic, consisting of four releases with eight tracks, limited to 500 copies. All on 10" vinyl, each of the eight tracks presents a different aspect of a childhood dream. All four covers of the series make a puzzle, forming together one big picture. Each release will include a special video connected with the theme: forever young. When all vinyl and digital releases have been released, there will also be one complete album CD compiling all the tracks.

DC 410CD

KAUFMAN, ANDY: Andy and His Grandmother CD (DC 410CD) 13.50
"Andy Kaufman changed the worlds of comedy and performance in the 1970s, showing fans and friends alike a determination to follow put-ons into territory no one had ever even considered 'comic' before. His fervor was so intense that when he passed away suddenly in 1984, it seemed as if the ultimate disappearing act had been staged; one that some people believe is still ongoing, with the reveal soon to come. This makes him the quintessential entertainer of our generation, a man ahead of his time and ours, and a force that has yet to be matched -- even in the mega-saturated media world of the 21st century. Among the many things that Andy achieved in his lifetime (and in the years following), a phonograph album release, the staple of standup comedians in his time, never happened -- until now. Andy and His Grandmother is material never heard before, a skimming from 82 hours of micro-cassette tapes that Andy recorded during 1977- 79. Perhaps the best thing about Andy and His Grandmother is that it extends the body of work that Andy Kaufman pursued relentlessly between 1971 and 1984 with 'routines' never before seen or heard in any of his known performances. This is no recap or greatest hits collection derived from material meant to be seen as well as heard. Andy created these tapes to format his incredible approach on a purely sonic level. The funny to be found in the unfunny, the comedy of everyday existence, the comedy of tragedy, these things are the legacy of Andy Kaufman -- and all are vividly on display throughout Andy and His Grandmother."

DC 410LP

KAUFMAN, ANDY: Andy and His Grandmother LP (DC 410LP) 20.00
LP version.

DC 560CS

BITCHIN BAJAS: Bitchitronics Cassette (DC 560CS) 8.00
Cassette version.

DC 560LP

BITCHIN BAJAS: Bitchitronics LP (DC 560LP) 17.00
"Bitchin Bajas are back... Bitchitronics, is ready with the quickness we expect from the Chi-based duo -- which is funny, since their area of expertise and mastery is in the area of synthetic ephemeral sonic languid-ity known more instinctively, inclusively (and let's face it, irresponsibly) as drone music. They make slow music at a fast pace is what we're saying. Now these guys are paying attention to this on the micro-level because that's where their fun is, so how will you react when we tell you that the sound of Bitchitronics was a change so extreme they considered changing their name? Ha. Yeah, us too. They were revamping a bit on this one though, it isn't just about turning on the keyboard and getting cozy. This time, the concept was: use tape techniques to create and then solve problems -- but mainly, loops and edits were there to make things fun and the music great in the style of experimental tape pioneers upon whose shoulders the Bajas play. In keeping with the (unspoken, unacknowledged by the band) concept of catching air with tape, Bitchitronics is the first Bitchin Bajas record made as a trio, blending the blowing of flute into the mix of electric keys and posthuman tones and loops of tape atop other loops of tape, with the final result coming to us with all the ebbing and flowing of a breeze -- wind on wind, even! A veritable index of gases! Let the power of Bitchitronics fall over you; another green world of music made Baja fresh by the wandering ears and care-filled creations and re-creations of Bitchin Bajas."

KELPE: Fourth: The Golden Eagle LP (DRUT 002LP) 18.50
LP version. "Ableton aficionado and purveyor of warped, cut 'n' spliced cliq-hop beats delivers a handcrafted, 10-track masterpiece of an album which draws upon the strengths of his previous work."

BEC 5161398

BUSY P: Still Busy 12" (BEC 5161398) 14.00
"'Still Busy' is about still being excited after 10 years while searching for the perfect beat. Even though I make repetitive music, our motto since day one has been to 'challenge ourselves.' Ed Banger records is 10 years old this year. This is my third release on my own label. Expect some more very soon, as something is happening in the basement. My name is Pedro Winter but everybody calls me Busy P." Remixes by Maelstrom, Paris Mitchell, Xavier De Rosnay, and Dexter.

EOD: EOD Volume 2 12" (EOD 220EP) 12.50
12" EP version. Stian Gjevik is from Norway. He also releases music as CN, on 030303, WeMe, etc. EOD astonished UK crowds at 2012's Bangface weekender, guesting for Rephlex Records. These tracks reach speeds upwards of 102-167 BPM.

ES 778LP

PAULA: Relaxed Fit LP (ES 778LP) 17.00
"Paula is David Carriere, member of Tops, whose debut Tender Opposites came out last year from Arbutus Records. Originally (and still) a name-your-price download, Paula's Relaxed Fit is air-conditioned pop music that is unmistakably contemporary. This limited vinyl edition features two fresh new exclusive tracks, 'Black Acura' and 'Totally Nice.' Ethereal Sequence is proud to present Relaxed Fit."

ZIRO: Pulse 12" (FULC 003EP) 12.00
The shadowy Bristolian Ziro turns up the pressure in spectacular style on his second vinyl release, his first for Manchester's Fulcrum Records. Side A's "Pulse" is a volatile mixture of synthetic tribal drums and warehouse-ready 4x4 techno. "Twitch" is a futurist blend of steel and subtlety with enough rolling bass weight to test the heaviest system. The flip-side finds "Fractures," a disturbingly swung garage beat to turn the dancers inside-out.

PRINS THOMAS: Bobletekno & Flau Pappadans Versions 12" (FPST 002EP) 14.00
Remixes of Prins Thomas' "Bobletekno" and "Flau Pappadans" from the artist himself, DJ Fett Burger, and Plus One.

GET 54055LP

Liquid Swords now has the vinyl reissue deserving of a project acknowledged as one of the '100 Best Rap Albums' by The Source and 'Top 100 Records of the 1990s' by Pitchfork."

WHITE FENCE: White Fence LP (GODRECORDS 002) 17.00
"Restoring a lost gem to the crown of White Fence, God? is bringing the first, self-titled, White Fence album back to the vanguard. White Fence originally came out on San Francisco's Make a Mess label; the CD is currently in print on Woodsist. But vinyl, you know? VINYL! A foolproof and ever-morphing approach to writing songs by bringing the freshness of lysergic '60s visions into the present day. As if that's all there was, which if you think about it... that's all there needs to be really. Tunes for us to sing, fun thoughts for us to have. So the tunes are there and they do everything great, but they warp and ripple as if something had gone awry with the tape machine."

SCRAPER: Scraper 7" (GODRECORDS 003) 5.50
"Scraper's a band throwing curves off a skate-punk kind of mound. Just some kids hanging out on the scene who formed a band out of nowhere. Of the 101 flavors currently coursing through the undead corpse of punk, these guys spray a gritty combination of grind 'n' groove that represents musical life at its most primal level. Then when you're sure they just started playing instruments the day before they recorded this, the overtones hit you -- Scraper's touched with Flipper and Urinals art-ghetto flair! You might even call it 'minimalist,' and the lyrics whip a satirical, surrealist-psychedelic angle on the inevitable social/romantic blues of the songs. Coming from the filth with no kind of irony or apology, this sound, is a way of life -- and somehow, it sounds like fun! This six-song EP is Scraper's first vinyl release."

FAIRFIELD SKI: Fairfield Ski LP (GUESS 115LP) 25.50
LP version. Birmingham's Fairfield Ski are one of the greatest lost UK psych/prog bands, ever. With a line-up which included ex-Terry Reid's band Bill Bonham (cousin of Led Zep John Bonham) on keyboards, their only recorded legacy is one of the rarest artifacts from the first UK psych-prog era: only three copies are known to exist of the Fairfield Ski acetate album, recorded in 1973 at top London studios such as Trident, Abbey Road and Apple. A perfectly played and professionally produced record which ranges from full-blown psychedelia to glam, hard rock, progressive pop, and dreamy psych. Echoes of Forever Amber, Five Day Rain, Octopus, Deep Purple, Procol Harum, Abbey Road-era Beatles and Appletree Theatre can be heard on the grooves of this lost classic. Fantastic remastered sound restored from the original acetate using state-of-the-art equipment. Insert with rare pictures and detailed liner notes by Andy Morten (Shindig!) revealing the Fairfield Ski story for the first time.

MAJIC SHIP: Majic Ship LP (GUESS 116LP) 25.50
Mixing fuzzed-out hard rock with tinges of psychedelia, Majic Ship's only album from 1970 is a classic from the U.S. private press/psych scene. Raw fuzz guitars, organ, and soulful/melodic vocals on nine original tracks plus their homage to Neil Young/Stephen Stills on the 11-minute cover of "Down by the River/For What It's Worth." With original copies changing hands for hundreds of dollars, here's the first-ever legit straight vinyl reissue, featuring newly remastered sound and an insert with detailed liner notes. Pressed on 180 gram vinyl.

CLAY RENDERING: Vengeance Candle LP (HOS 392LP) 16.00
"Clay Rendering is a new band born of Aries couple Mike (Wolf Eyes, Hair Police, Failing Lights) and Tara Connelly (the Haunting and The Pool at Metz). The two began work on the project in the fall of 2012, dedicated to resurrection, (much like their sun signs) with a focus on arcane structures. Droning and melancholic guitars are propelled by the skeletal remains of industrial music. Low light vocals weave in and out of the stark atmosphere. Electronics mix with acoustics, vocals and guitar to create songs inspired by last days. Mastered by Russell Haswell. Edition of 500."

CALL SUPER: The Present Tense 12" (HTH 001EP) 14.00
Houndstooth is the new "artist-led" record label from London's renowned Fabric nightclub & label. All releases are awesomely-packaged -- with unique wraparound cover art sealing each 12". Call Super (aka JR Seaton) provides the debut release on the Houndstooth label. "Threshing Floor" pivots on the heavy 4x4 kick, while "Leosengor" is all bubbles of synthesizer, stuttering stop/start drum patterns and woozy melodies. "Siglo Gray Vision" and "No City of Choice" feature morphing drones and chunky drum textures. Mastered by MPG Mastering Engineer of the Year 2013, Matt Colton at Alchemy. Cut to heavyweight 180 gram vinyl.

HOUSE OF BLACK LANTERNS: Kill the Lights 2LP (HTH 003LP) 29.00
House Of Black Lanterns is the brand-new project from Dylan Richards, formerly known as King Cannibal (Ninja Tune) and Zilla (Warp). Retaining the earlier influence of DJ Krust's sprawling drum and bass soundscapes, House Of Black Lanterns sees Richards develop his sound to incorporate the dub-inflected techno textures of Rhythm & Sound while nodding to the catchy, yet occasionally bleak floorfillers of Trax, all inspired by the modern noir visual style of Michael Mann. Featuring "Shot You Down," co-written by Alpines' Catherine Pockson, and vocals across the rest of the LP from Trinidadian emcee Juakali, Planet Mu's eccentric Rudi Zygadlo, Ghettozoid, and British singer/songwriter Leni Ward, Kill the Lights is dark but serene, with a beautiful range of tracks throughout. Houndstooth is the artist-led label from London's renowned Fabric nightclub and label. Mastered by MPG Mastering Engineer of the Year 2013, Matt Colton at Alchemy.

_UNSUBSCRIBE_: Spek Hondje 12" (HTH 004EP) 14.00
Houndstooth is the new "artist-led" record label from London's renowned Fabric nightclub & label. All releases are awesomely-packaged -- with unique wraparound cover art sealing each 12". _Unsubscribe_ is the new collaboration between English techno legend Dave Clarke and hotly-tipped Dutch producer, Mr. Jones. Cut to heavyweight 180 gram vinyl.

AKKORD: Navigate EP 12" (HTH 005EP) 14.00
Houndstooth is the new "artist-led" record label from London's renowned Fabric nightclub & label. All releases are awesomely-packaged -- with unique wraparound cover art sealing each 12". Initially conceived as an outlet for a collective of like-minded artists from the rural outskirts of Manchester, Akkord's four-track debut EP for Houndstooth is a further distillation of their passions for sonic minimalism and sound design. Honest and endlessly layered with sparse percussion, driving kick drums and rolling dub undertones. Cut to heavyweight 180 gram vinyl.

SNOW GHOSTS: A Small Murmuration LP (HTH 006LP) 29.00
Deluxe gatefold LP version with a 12-page booklet; on 180 gram vinyl. Crafted from a shared interest of the odd folk nature of Britain and the resultant dark strangeness, Throwing Snow (Ross Tones) and Augustus Ghost (Hannah Cartwright) pool their individual inspirations, ideas and styles on A Small Murmuration, the first full-length album under their collaborative Snow Ghosts moniker. Sounding like the dreamchild of Massive Attack, Björk, Clubroot, and Zola Jesus, and including an appearance by man-of-the-moment Blue Daisy, their music is brooding and at times imposing, yet sweepingly majestic throughout -- Augustus Ghost's rich vocals balance perfectly on Throwing Snow's somber sonic creations. Ross' resumé includes playing the recent London date of Thom Yorke's Atoms For Peace project and joining Bonobo on his forthcoming tour, while Hannah comes from a songwriting background, having previously worked with Phaeleh. Mastered by MPG Mastering Engineer of the Year 2013, Matt Colton at Alchemy.

SECOND STOREY: Margosa Heights EP 12" (HTH 009EP) 14.00
Houndstooth is the new "artist-led" record label from London's renowned Fabric nightclub & label. All releases are awesomely-packaged -- with unique wraparound cover art sealing each 12". Until now, Alec Storey has been known as Al Tourettes. His greatest achievement to date has been soundtracking Natalie Portman's first (fictional) ecstasy experience in Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan. Second Storey showcases his unique brand of colorful psychedelic electronic music, rooted in bass-heavy soundsystems. For fans of Drexciya, Appleblim, Shackleton, etc. Cut to heavyweight 180 gram vinyl.

VA: We Make Music Vol. 3 12" (HIOK 003EP) 12.50
The third and last part of the We Make Music series has finally arrived and Janis, Oliver Achatz, and Homeboy deliver the perfect soundtrack for the summer, accompanied by a new friend, East Coast disco honcho Sleazy McQueen, assigned for remix duties. "Hula Hoop" is a lot of things: it's disco, it's house, and it's as happy as Croatian dance music specialist can get. "Movin' Up" features a stomping house beat while "Express" chugs like a locomotive with a funky bass line.

"Deluxe double LP pressed in an edition of 500 copies. Alessandro Cortini (Nine Inch Nails/How To Destroy Angels) composed the Forse series using a Buchla Music Easel. Forse, meaning 'maybe' In Italian, is a series of three double LP releases Cortini recorded for Important to release in 2013. 'All pieces were written and performed live on a Buchla Music Easel, in the span of one month. I found that the limited array of modules that the instrument offers sparked my creativity. Most pieces consist of a repeating chord progression, where the real change happens at a spectral/dynamic level, as opposed to the harmonic/chordal one. I believe that the former are just as effective as the latter, in the sense that the sonic presentation (distortion , filtering, wave shaping, etc.) are just as expressive as a chord change or chord type, and often reinforce said chord progressions. Of all the years with Nine Inch Nails the period spent writing and recording the instrumental record Ghosts I-IV is probably the one which changed my approach to music making the most. After that record I started getting more into instrumental composition, although I tried to approach it in a different way. While we had a vast array of tools and instruments at our disposal then, I decided to approach my pieces limiting myself to one instrument only, as I found myself being more decisive when faced with a limited creative environment.'"

"On Far West, the Master Musicians of Bukkake mark a turn from their Totem Trilogy. If the Totems were an expression of yang energy, then the Far West cycle is the yin that took seed within the trilogy. What happens when you travel so far east looking for enlightenment that you pass your destination and are headed west again? The mania of being lost in the mountains of the Cascade Corridor, searching aimlessly for the Northern Pacific coast. A spiritual Donner party of sorts, feeding off fantasy and mirages and imaginary shamans. Far West is the soundtrack to this expedition to the caves of light we all travel into with hopes of acquiring redemption, only to realize our bodies have dissolved -- gone like rain from the sky, snow from the ground, thoughts from the mind. The sound of Far West is a progressive folk record inspired by Paul Giovanni's Wicker Man soundtrack, early Canterbury prog folk, the suspenseful soundtracks of Goblin and Ennio Morricone, Gerry Goldsmith's interwoven dark orchestrations, and Pacific Northwest folk rock. The Master Musicians of Bukkake take an earthly and shamanistic approach to these influences and infuse it with krautrock pulses interweaved with acoustic guitars, intricately layered rhythms, hazed-out modular analog synths, brassy stabs, and cultish choirs. A true psychedelic, audiophile experience to dissolve your body in."

Gatefold LP version.

"Jeremy from Junior Boys collaborating with some Canadian modular synth masters on some great techno tracks."

TSHETSHA BOYS: Bafana Bafana (feat. Themba Manganyi) 12" (JIAOLONG 010EP) 12.00
"A Shangaan electro 12'' from mastermind producer 'Dog' Nozinja."

KAITO: Behind My Life 12" (KOM 284EP) 12.00
Hiroshi Watanabe aka Kaito's Behind My Life sees the veteran dance artist subtly updating his sound to a rapidly changing club landscape while carefully carving out the timeless qualities of his earlier work. "Run Through the Road in the Fog" gets things off the ground swiftly with a stoic bass drum, but it's not long before we find ourselves wrapped in those dreamy pads again that Hiroshi has become known and loved for. "Behind My Life" is a 112 BPM dungeon-crawler fitted with stonewalling guitars and moaning synths.

BORATTO, GUI: Too Late 12" (KOM 285EP) 12.00
Gui Boratto's Too Late is a wonderfully pop-infused 12" hosting two magnetic floorbusters and an abundance of style. "Too Long" starts off as a pleasantly-relaxed exercise in house and ramps up the immersion levels with finely-tuned female vocals that owe as much to classic pop stylings as they do to the textures of club music. "We Can Go" is a hearty banger, sporting a fierce bass line and some pretty gripping beats and distinctive male vocals, ready for world domination.

CAPTAIN BEEFHEART: An Ashtray Heart CD (LFM 514CD) 18.00
"Previously unreleased radio broadcast of legendary Captain Beefheart show from 1981 featuring rare set list. Running at over 75 minutes in total this CD represents the oft-forgotten power and dynamics of Captain Beefheart in concert, and reminds us all just what an extraordinary performer the man christened Don Van Vliet was. Recorded on January 17 1981, the set-list that cold January night included six cuts from his then most recent album Doc at the Radar Station as well as other songs from throughout the Captain's career."

CHAPMAN, MICHAEL: Wrecked Again LP (LITA 101LP) 20.00
LP version. 180 gram vinyl in a tip-on gatefold sleeve. Remastered from the original tapes. Includes unseen photos and liner notes by Andru Chapman. "1971's Wrecked Again, Chapman's final for EMI's seminal stoner imprint Harvest, home to Kevin Ayers and Syd Barrett. Like other artists in the stable, Chapman's music contains a drugged-out feel, sublime guitar playing and intense lyrics, yet Chapman's career was not a pet project. Buried in EMI's release schedule and afforded no promotional budget, Wrecked Again is his lost classic. Recorded at the noted Rockfield Studio, a residential complex-cum-working farm in Wales, Wrecked Again explores orchestration via Paul Buckmaster (Miles Davis, David Bowie) and The London Symphony Orchestra and production courtesy of Gus Dudgeon (Elton John, Bonzo Dog Band), but also explores a new sound influenced by Memphis soul. With a blend of electric and acoustic instruments, Chapman is found where he feels most comfortable: in-between folk and rock, contrasting soft with edgy. Wrecked Again was made at a turbulent time in Chapman's life. Still struggling for money despite being four albums into his career, the sessions were marred by arguments over his pay. Unloved as it was by his label, the album did little to rectify the situation. Afterwards, Chapman and bassist Rick Kemp -- later of Steeleye Span -- set off on their first tour of the USA. Chapman was stoney broke -- initially refused a visa as a result ? and received no money. And that was the least of his troubles. By the third week, manager Andrew King had quit the country, and Kemp had run off with a woman in a green Mustang. Audiences couldn't understand Chapman's thick Yorkshire accent or British phrases, not least when he coughed on stage and told them, 'these French fags are killing my throat.' After being mugged in New York, Chapman gave up -- before even reaching the West Coast. There had been highs, such as being asked to perform at King Curtis's funeral alongside the likes of Ray Charles, but the experience scarred the singer-songwriter. Back in the UK, he told his partner, Andru Chapman, 'If that's the big time then fuck it -- I don't want it.' Chapman did, of course, go on to record more than 30 albums and tour extensively, but Wrecked Again was a pivotal moment in his career; the tipping point between his earlier, folkier material and his later, rockier output on Deram."

"Agitation Free's third album, originally released in 1976, now reissued on 180 gram vinyl with the original artwork. Featuring live jams recorded in '73 and '74, this is a psych prog jewel from these Krautrock legends. Includes in depth liner notes."

MOOD RINGS: VPI Harmony LP (MEX 146LP) 20.00
"The debut album from this Atlanta-based five-piece is certainly not easy to pigeonhole. Shifting seamlessly from taut post-punk to lush '60s balladry, and starry-eyed guitar pop to moody guitar squall, VPI Harmony is the sound of a band meticulously studied in their influences, and unafraid to expand, combine and re-imagine the sounds of their musical loves into their own signature package. Limited numbered edition of 1,000 textured jackets. Vinyl includes download code."

ASHRAE FAX: Static Crash LP (MEX 159LP) 20.00
"Static Crash is magic, one of the most gorgeous collections of gothic ethereal pop/noise of its kind to rise from the American underground in decades. One could easily believe its origin to be from 1983, or 1993, or even 2013. But its 2003 release found few takers, outside of a small but dedicated local following. At a time when rock and roll was obnoxiously forcing its way back from the morass of pre-millennial digital aimlessness and DJ culture -- and at the same time was being fought on the other side by the glitzy shallowness of electroclash -- Ashrae Fax was finding ways to inject warmth and confidence into a mothballed musical form. Its eight songs take chances that most all had forgotten about, delving into the solitary power of Kate Bush, the esoteric directions of groups like Dif Juz, the Durutti Column, and the brash iconoclasm of prime-era Siouxsie & The Banshees, ballasted by stretches of ambient interlude and ear-damaging chaos. Limited numbered edition of 1,000 silk screened jackets. Vinyl includes download code."

4YO4U: Invasion 12" (MINUSMIN 006EP) 11.00
The now legendary Acid Village demo sees the light of day -- pushing into the mysteries and darkness of night. Looping crackles and melodies pop through an atmosphere of samples and strings -- stretched-out, deformed and leaving us to ask who the creators are. Pressing of 500 copies in a limited embossed sleeve, on 180 gram vinyl.

2013 repress. This is part two in a vinyl series of exclusive tracks off of Panorama Bar 02 (OSTGUT 010CD), mixed by Tamo Suma. On Levon Vincent: "I really like his rough approach to music; the deep sub-bass, his dubby touch and his epic, hypnotic arrangements. It all sounds very edgy and dirty." On Steffi : "I like Steffi's sensitivity for music ... We share a love for deep and melodic music."

ALVARADO, DAVID: Land of the Sunchild EP 12" (OVM 230EP) 12.50
David Alvarado presents the Land of the Sunchild EP on Ovum. Alvarado continues a career that has spanned over 15 years, and is still considered to be one of electronic music's best-kept secrets. His work as a producer and artist began after a chance meeting with Richie Hawtin and John Acquaviva, who stumbled across one of his very first works and invited him to be a part of Definitive Records. David returns to Ovum after an eight-year hiatus with a techno workout that should rock any dancefloor.

DIE VOGEL: The Chicken EP 12" (PAMPA 017EP) 12.50
Jakobus Durstewitz and Mense Reents aka Die Vogel present The Chicken EP, featuring quite an interesting guest. "The Chicken" begins with that familiar Pampa swagger, all clickety-clackety in 3-D, and soon we hear the extended howl of some kind of beaked instrument. Is that Vincent Price? No, it's famed shoe-eating director Werner Herzog. "Mesmerize" is easier on the psyche, both majestic and gentle, with legato horns and strings massaging your mood. Neapolitan sherbet for open-airs and open ears.

CHANCE: In Search CD (POB 007CD) 13.00
"As ringleader, maestro, and indomitable troubadour of Nashville's most private, elusive, and exclusive far-out scene -- the Dead End -- visionary artist and Nashville lifer Chance Martin (aka Alamo Jones, the Voice in Black, aka the Stoned Ranger) could have stepped from the pages of a Portis novel, Barry Hannah story, or Coen Bros. script. After working for and touring with his friend and mentor Johnny Cash as cue card man, stage manager, and lighting designer for eight years, in 1977 Chance began a new life. By the time he was thirty-one, he had already worked stagehands union gigs for all the greats, hung with them and partied with them backstage, and realized that it was now or never -- time to turn off all the outside influences, hunker down, and make it new, or else. So he started writing songs on Johnny Cash's D35 Martin, a gift from the master. Chance and his gang holed up in the Dead End, the kitted-out 'bonus room' above his parents' garage on a cul-de-sac in a residential South Nashville neighborhood, complete with reel-to-reels, bed, bar, a Head of Security, and a Sergeant at Arms. Under the direction of Chance as guru, they spent five years in secrecy and self-imposed musical isolation, writing songs and recording endless hours of work tapes. The result was In Search (1981), a fierce, inimitable, and mythmaking countrydelic masterpiece of insular inspiration and absolutely singular vision and scope. Despite its intensely personal origins, long gestation, substantial financial costs, and deadly serious deliberation, the album betrays very little in the way of outside influences or traceable authorship. Commanding, aggressive, and unabashedly masculine, it literally sounds like nothing else we've ever heard -- this is as close as we've gotten to unique music (if there is such a thing), the real deal, an obsessive, private-press triumph of the imagination. The closest analog we can (tentatively) venture is some unholy pot likker of Waylon Jennings, Funkadelic, the Fields of Nephilim, and the Bob Seger System: a strange southern gothic, alternately frightening and funky, and utterly transfixing. One can only wonder as to which interstellar channels Chance is tuned, but whatever he's hearing is not the same transmission that the rest of us hear. And God bless him for it. Paradise of Bachelors is ecstatic to present the first-ever reissue of this long-coveted collectors' item, complete with dozens of outrageous photos and a 13,000-word oral history of Chance in a gatefold package. So sit back, listen to this remarkable document, and live with Chance for a spell. Live the search."

CHANCE: In Search LP (POB 007LP) 23.00

RH 125CD

JANSON PRESENTS, GERD: Musik for Autobahns CD (RH 125CD) 17.00
CD version of this awesome ambient-not-ambient compilation by German DJ/producer Gerd Janson that includes exclusive tracks by artists such as Âme, Move D, Marco Passarani, Roman Flügel, and Tom Trago. Musik for Autobahns is the result of asking Gerd Janson for a collection that starts where previous efforts left off. While Computer Incarnations for World Peace (his compilations for Sonar Kollektiv) concentrated on tipsy new wave music done by jazz-funkers or neo disco-ists, Autobahns has an unintentionally strong leaning towards ambient-not-ambient, Kraut pleasers, and codeine house, i.e. industrial ambient and electrifying new age. It's all new and exclusive material by people who once or twice crossed paths with the compiler. You will hear Âme with their modular slambient concept sitting next to Tom Trago's off peak-time duties, Roman Flügel with an old DAT tape wunderkind that shares a side with Move D in love, outsider dance from CF & Daywalker alias Entro Senestre and Willie Burns as well as a greasy-sounding Marco Passarani and Tensnake's romantic pop appeal that is a counterpoint to Maxxi & Zeus (better known as Quiet Village) and their "Passion," for all beauties that lie beyond. This sometimes unlikely gathering is hopefully unified by its non-parochial view of dance- and living-room floors, ambient noise and its effectiveness as a soundtrack to long rides up and down the Autobahn. Other artists include: Marcus Worgull & MCDE, Suzanne Kraft, Weird Guilders, Acoustic High-End Research, Young Marco, and Osborne.

SR 115CD

INUIT: 55 Historical Recordings/Traditional Music From Greenland CD (SR 115CD) 13.00
2013 repress. "This record is surely unique. It was published a few years ago only in Greenland by Ulo. We took the decision to enlarge the distribution of this tribute to traditions and roots of the Inuit culture. This is more than an hour of ultra-rare documents, the testimony of a century of Inuit recordings! As a guide through this abundant material, we included the complete notes from the original booklet... Notes, comments and photos. A helpful 24 pages complement not only for purists. Voices recorded in Greenland almost hundred years ago on wax glader cylinders for today, hearing a lost shamanic story, a duel-song, a mournful melody, this record presents an unique collection of drumdance and songs. 55 historical recordings of traditional Greenlandic music recorded between1905 (by the British ethnologist William Thalbitzer) to 1987 and collected by the Danish ethnomusicologist Michael Hauser. This is -- beyond the document in itself -- a way to be lost in time and space. Hope, happiness, mourning, humanity is right there."

SR 356LP

GOLDSTON, LORI: Film Scores LP (SR 356LP) 15.50
LP version. Lori Goldston is an American cellist. She was the touring cellist for Nirvana from 1993-1994 and appears on their live album MTV Unplugged in New York. She is a member of Earth, the Black Cat Orchestra, and Spectratone International. Classically-trained and rigorously de-trained, possessor of a restless, semi-feral spirit, Lori Goldston is a cellist, composer, improviser, producer, writer and teacher based in Seattle. Her voice as a cellist, amplified or acoustic is full, textured, committed and original. A perpetual inquirer, she wanders recklessly across borders that separate genre, discipline, time and geography, performing in clubs, cafes, galleries, arenas, concert halls, sheds, ceremonies, barbecues, and sanctuaries. The featured works are film scores for: Carl Theodor Dreyer's The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928), Yasujiro Ozu's Passing Fancy (1933), Linas Phillips' Bass Ackwards (2010), Britta Johnson's Crashing Waves (2010), and Vanessa Renwick's Charismatic Megafauna (2011) and Mighty Tacoma (2011). MAXIMIN, BERANGERE: Infinitesimal CD (SR 362CD) 15.50
Sub Rosa presents another release in their New Series Framework editions -- an extension of the Concrete Electronics Noise series -- highlighting a brand-new mix-up of unusual conceptions of sound material by young unknown composers, well-known not-so-young composers, and old but clever composers. Limited editions. Bérangère Maximin was born on the remote French colonial island of Reunion in the Indian Ocean and moved to France at the age of 15. Performing first as a singer, she later studied electroacoustic music with the composer Denis Dufour at the Perpignan Conservatoire. Her first professional experiences occurred in Paris, and in 2002 she moved there permanently. From 2002 to 2007, while running the organizations Motus (concerts production and record label, Paris) and Futura (International Festival of Acousmatic Art, Crest, France) as the assistant of Denis Dufour, she started to work as an independent composer (collective concerts and audiovisual installations). She is most interested in preserving the spirit of live music in the studio, a passion passed on to her from her friends, guitarists and singers in rock and world music bands. Working out of her own Home Sweet Home studio, she shoots sounds in a dark and silent room, records soundscapes and acoustic sounds, plays with samplings, digital effects, performs on a variety of objects and sings. Her attraction to light and powerful sounds gives her work a very unique quality. Infinitesimal is the follow-up to her highly-acclaimed first album on Sub Rosa No One Is an Island (SR 337CD/LP).

SR 372LP

PSEUDOCODE: Europa LP (SR 372LP) 15.50
Reissue of Pseudocode's mythic 1982 album, Europa, only available as an LP. Pseudocode: Belgian improvised electronic band, active from 1980 to 1982, featuring Xavier Ess (Thrills), Guy-Marc Hinant, and Alain Neffe (Insane Music, Bene Geserit). "In that time, the onset of the '80s, we had the opportunity to create from sound itself instead of notes, from noise, screams, any chord, relevant or irrelevant. Xavier (with Stéphane Barbery, Digital Dance), had been in one of Brussels' first punk bands, Thrills. Alain had over 10 years of music experience and was influenced by kosmische musik and all kinds of weird, experimental music; he had put together several improvisation ensembles in the area, including the noisy Kosmose, which I joined as a teenager. Now that I had digested punk, I was into Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, The Pop Group, Red Crayola, This Heat, and all these influences show up upon listening." --Guy-Marc Hinant

Each night the performances were getting more and more intense and blowing mine and the crowd's minds. By the end of the tour I knew we had to go into the studio and get a great recording made of 'Matthew and Toby.' We recorded all analog to get the sound right and if you buy this on vinyl you will have a recording that has never touched a computer, which I think is the way it needs to be done sometimes. I've done a remix for the B-side, more of a club version. I discovered Rocketnumbernine through Steve Reid who was great friends with the drummer from the band, Tom Page, and you can hear Steve's influence and spirit in this music without doubt. Steve passed away just a couple of weeks before we made this recording and we have dedicated it to his memory.'"

FOUR TET/DAPHNI (CARIBOU): Pinnacles/Ye Ye 12" (TEXT 009EP) 12.00
2013 limited repress. Split 12" from Four Tet's Kieran Hebden and Caribou's Daniel Snaith.

ZOOS OF BERLIN: Lucifer in the Rain LP (TNP 010LP) 19.50
Zoos Of Berlin's sophomore album Lucifer in the Rain is an exquisite work of slanted pop and cosmopolitan art-rock. Endlessly rewarding, with meticulously-arranged instrumentation and lysergic narratives, the Detroit-based outfit's latest album fully realizes their vision of boundless 21st century pop. Full of twists and turns, it's easy to be swept from one section of the song to the next without knowing where they begin and end, distilling elements of glam, jazz, post-punk, bossanova, motorik grooves, electronic ambience, and anything else that will fit; into something wholly unique, referencing both the past and future reminiscent of Low-era Bowie or Roxy Music getting in a room with Broadcast and Tom Zé. Produced in Nashville by Collin Dupuis, who has engineered for Black Keys, Carl Craig, Dr. John, and Tomahawk. He is also the band's drummer.

After more than two decades of behind the scenes collaboration, Juan Atkins and Moritz von Oswald present Borderland -- their debut collaborative album. The album -- made up of eight sequences, which seamlessly blend the styles of both masters -- was recorded at the beginning of 2013 over various studio sessions in Berlin and is released as a series of three 12"s and a CD album. Together with a live show being debuted in May 2013 at MUTEK -- the record gives common voice to two independent yet mutually supporting musical journeys, achieving a singular expression of club-oriented electronic music and the freedom of organic musical experimentation.

RECONDITE: Waldluft EP 12" (TROLLDANS 001EP) 12.50
Following his recent Roland TB-303 experiments for Absurd and his understated reworking of Scuba's "The Hope," Berlin's Recondite has put together the debut release on boutique label Trolldans, based in the city of Kontra-Musik. Melancholic and spellbinding sounds, as always. Comes with a tribalish remix from the analog techno act, Skudge. Recondite's work stands on its own, feeling strangely divorced both from his previous output and especially from over two decades worth of acid house history.

HALO HALO: Halo Halo LP (UTR 057LP) 22.00
LP version, on 180 gram vinyl. Comes with a poster. Halo Halo are three friends living in South London, writing a primal, hyper-melodic music that makes you want to dance into the mountains and throw a rope around the moon. Rachel Horwood (vocals, banjo, also of the band Trash Kit), Jack Barraclough (vocals, drums), and Gill Partington (bass, modded-keyboard) came together inspired by a shared love of the naturalism of folk music and the freedom of punk. Naming their band after a very colorful, refreshing hotchpotch of a dessert from the Philippines (where Rachel's family are from) the same random delight and faith in surprise is central to their music, shot through in clattering Technicolor by traditional forms of Filipino music like Tiboli and the mystical chanting and sacred percussion of the Ifugao. Halo Halo are not only reaching back to their own ancestry, but are tapping into something seemingly outside of time, parts equally magical and sonically enthralling. This last three years have seen Halo Halo release a well-received 7" single through the brilliant imprints of Savoury Days in Europe and M'Ladys in the USA, alongside several homemade CDs, leading to them playing countless shows, some more far-flung than others, including performances in Israel, the Republic of Korea, the Arctic Circle, and in support of kindred spirits Electrelane on tour in Europe. With this eagerly-awaited, self-titled debut album on Upset the Rhythm, Halo Halo have raised their game with doubled vocals, tripping beats, synth-weirding, drum thumps, banjo circles and journey-bound bass lines. With this album, Halo Halo have achieved a lot -- they've travelled far and have returned to their beginnings, all with an impeccable melodic hold that time cannot diminish.

WHITEHOUSE: Bird Seed 2LP (VFSL 015LP) 14.00
Warehouse find of absolute final copies, reduced pricing; 2009 reissue, originally released in 2003. Bird Seed was the transformational album following the release of the seismic Wriggle Like A Fucking Eel, where Whitehouse first shockingly employed all kinds of new technology, incorporating acoustic elements such as African djembes and doundouns for their sound, featured also on the extraordinary "Cut Hands Has The Solution" and "Munkisi Munkondi." Featuring Peter Sotos, responsible for the infamous title track.
