ENTERPRISE Enterprise (1977) LP
Adarce Records present a reissue of Enterprise's first self-titled album, originally released in 1977. Behind the Enterprise band is the artist Josep Llobell Oliver. Musician, sound engineer, mixer, producer, and fan of a fantastic musical world, found in his own albums and in an extensive gallery of contributions with various national artists. For years, singers and groups, most from the renowned label Belter, have been successful -- due in part to this master's arrangements. In 1975, he was commissioned by the label's artistic director to produce a studio album with a hefty budget. It was his first company and he named it after the intergalactic ship Enterprise. He assigned the bands logo (inspired by the musical group Chicago) to a friend-musician and selected the tracks: Barry White, Chick Corea, the everlasting Beatles, sonidos calientes, and other well-known hits. All the songs were played by Llobell along with the labels other musicians, all on payroll thanks to Belter: Javier Cubedo, Enrique Tudela, Gabriel Martinez, Kitflus, Ricard Roda, and many others gave their best on a magnificent first album that would be followed by three more -- one per year -- all including original compositions by the group, along with international hits by Garcia Segura, Santisteban, Calderón, Pepe Nieto, José Solà, Manolo Gas, Adolfo Waitzman, Algueró, Ramón Farrán, Miguel Ramos, Albert Peter, Jaume Cristau, Josep Llobell, and many others with published albums in the '70s. Remastered reissue includes pictures and liner notes by Dr. Vinilo (Madmua Records).

DJ SPIDER & FRANKLIN DE COSTA F Planet 12"
"This deadly Berlin-New Jersey nexus back in action, reinforced by the mighty Shifted. 'F Planet' itself is an in-for-the-kill stomper, husky and frantic, its sizzling bass and clanky hats inexorably dissolving in a sulphuric alarm of distortion and haywire bleeps. 'Astral Pilot' ties you into a swirl of frequencies, rhythms and mechanical growling, before finally disentangling itself into some kind of cosmic lift-off. On the flip, grimly tightening the bolts, setting the controls inwards, and darkening and thickening its atmospheres into a kind of gut-churning possession, Shifted makes F Planet all his own."

EXTRAWELT In Aufruhr 3LP
2017 edition. Triple LP version. 2017 edition; Originally released in 2011. From Soopertrack on Border Community in 2006 to the Titelheld EP that same year and the album Schöne Neue Extrawelt (COR 019-2CD/LP) from the year 2008, which belong to the best-selling releases on Cocoon recordings, the two Hamburg residents Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe have skyrocketed their reputations to become two of the most style-forming techno protagonists within the last ten years. "We don't want cowardly zeitgeist techno. We want to be courageous and dare new sounds and melodies. Sunrise scenarios, energy, revolution and 'Kaputtheit' -- these are all parts of the Extrawelt," the two musicians once said, and this artistic credo applies to their long-awaited second Extrawelt album, too. "We took our time and have collected tracks that have particularly touched us, no matter whether they are club-compatible or not. Besides that, we didn't want to repeat ourselves, and have created a unique second album that stands for itself." Without doubt, the two have succeeded in this. The spectrum of musical influences has again extended and the most diverse styles of electronic music connect seamlessly with the Extrawelt spirit. Here, the sonic zeitgeist is not the determining variable for the music -- what really counts is the creation of nothing more and nothing less than a new world, by means of a never-exhausting acoustic imagination which shows new facets, even after the thousandth time of listening. One should be careful with the use of superlatives, but this is exactly how masterpieces are sounding.

PUESTEL, RICO 973272 12"
"973" picks up exactly where "Caravel" left off (COR 146EP), kicking powerfully with irresistible, effect-loaded breaks that really twist your melon. "973" proves that "Caravel" was no flash in the pan, just one tantalizing glimpse into the musical world of Rico Puestel and that's not the end of it... "272" is a little more stripped-down and chilled to start with, but soon opens up into the same crazy atmosphere as "973". This is dominated by an up-and-running arpeggio synth, which combines with the now familiar effects-break motif to create an incredible hypnotic effect.

Fountain Of Meaning is a new sonic fiction from sound artist J.G. Biberkopf following 2016's Ecologies II: Ecosystems Of Excess on Knives. Emerging out of a situation of overflow, the record burrows deeper into his practice of palpable audio theater with a study of object and relations across space-time specific sounds. The Fountain as a theme reflects a spouting and spilling of information, an erotic gushing of imagined aural history. Fountain Of Meaning offers a dynamic tension and release. A molecular tragedy, our abject recovery into a collaborative reimagining of a trauma long forgotten. Features Aisha Devi.

JELINEK, JAN Loop-Finding-Jazz-Records 2LP
New 2017 repress. Faitiche presents a long-lost vinyl album. Since 2003, Jan Jelinek's Loop-Finding-Jazz-Records, originally released in 2001 on ~scape, existed only as a download. Now the album is available again on vinyl, as a double LP with two bonus tracks, "Moiré (Guitar & Horns)" and "Poren", B-sides from Tendency EP (2000)."Don't be misled by the title, though for there isn't a finger-snapping rhythm bebop lead anywhere on the album. Instead, Jelinek chooses to explore the visual effect moiré - two shifting patterns creating an implied third dimension - in the audio realm." --Alternative Press"The title acts as explanation for the studio technique that provided the basis for this album, snippets of other people's arrangements deconstructed through a sampler into loops and then splashed onto an audio canvas." --ATM"Jelinek's sound evolved out of his dislike for (and inability to play) keyboards." --RPM"Jelinek has abstracted his sources beyond recognition, looping his millisecond samples into flickering patterns of sonic moiré laid atop a dub techno framework. . . . Jelinek might as well have sampled a horn player's hissing intake of breath - it would have been 'jazz' enough for his purposes." --The Wire"It's a perfect inversion of conventional music, a sonic negative. Everything that would typically be foreground is moved back or pushed off the screen altogether, and the flecks of sonic debris that would normally be covered by other sounds are left to carry the melody and rhythm." --Pitchfork"All you need to know is that these onomatopoeic non-specific songs . . . are warm, paradisiacal creations." --NME"Listen carefully and you'll hear textures slowly unfolding and mutating. Presuming you've not fallen asleep of course." --iDJ"At times, it's all a bit dripping tap Japanese water torture; so sedentary it drowns in its own motionlessness" --DJ"Loop-Finding-Jazz-Records is a genuine modern classic whose re-release is anything but a cynical mortgage repayment exercise. Consider this a second chance, then pretend you had it all along." --Boomkat

VA Sicily Jass: The World's First Man In Jazz LP/DVD
LP version. Includes DVD. DVD is PAL format, region free. A journey inside the Sicilian chromosome of jazz, forgotten by the official history; the incredible story of a Sicilian who became the world's first man in jazz. Sicily Jass: The World's First Man In Jazz is a film directed by Michele Cinque, about the life, the music, and times of Nick La Rocca, a son of Sicilian immigrants, a self-taught cornet player, and leader of the Original Dixieland Jass Band, the New Orleans based combo which eventually recorded the first jazz record, in New York, in 1917. Moving between fiction and documentary, while travelling from a timeless Sicily through New Orleans past and present, the film follows the infectious rhythms of early jazz and goes deep into an introspective journey narrated by the voice, the gestures and the puppets of Sicilian master Mimmo Cuticchio. Thanks to the special contribution of historians and jazz critics and along with the discovery of precious archive materials, the film will give the audience the chance to re-live both the incredible success and the sad decline of La Rocca and his fellow musicians. The voice of Nick La Rocca himself, caught in a hitherto unpublished interview, together with the intimacy of the tale of Nick's son, Jimmy, will lead the viewer to discover why La Rocca and his men are often forgotten within the official history of jazz. Needless to add that Sicily Jass comes with an amazing soundtrack, curated by Mark Berenford and carefully remastered by Nick Dellow. The accompanying CD features the ODJB's historical 1917 recordings, along with a selection of extra tracks by illustrious contemporaries such as Louis Armstrong Orchestra, Joe Venuti, Bix Beiderbeck & His Gang, Fletcher Henderson and His Orchestra, and Red Nichols 5 Pennies, amazing recordings from the beginning of jazz, over 100 years old. Mark Berenford who also curated the extensive liner notes, is considered one of the most respected experts and most passionate collectors of early jazz and blues. Since 1990, Mr. Berenford has been the editor of Vintage Jazz Mart, the world's leading means for buying and selling rare jazz and blues 78s. Sicily Jass, the film and the soundtrack, come together in two formats: CD+DVD and LP+DVD. LP version comes in a gatefold sleeve and includes the film's original poster. DVD language: English; Subtitles: Italian, English, French, Portuguese, Japanese.

MOUNTAIN ASH BAND The Hermit CD
Hiatus presents a reissue of Mountain Ash Band's The Hermit, originally released in 1976. Emanating from the curious urban landscape of the west midlands in the early 1970s, the Mountain Ash Band emerged in the midst of a sustained interest in folk music. Cambridge-born writer Colin Cripps led the band up to the beautiful moors of Ilkley in Yorkshire, providing an idyllic backdrop for their concept album The Hermit in 1975. Cripps's network of friends from the Coventry arts scene would prove vital in bringing the album to fruition, but wouldn't be able to envisage its continuing influence and its hefty price tag decades later. Hiatus present their 1976 classic album here with previously unreleased material, restorative audio remastering, interviews, background liners, and rare archival memorabilia.

NARNIA Aslan Is Not A Tame Lion CD
Hiatus present a reissue of Narnia's Aslan Is Not A Tame Lion, originally released in 1974. Narnia's acid folk masterpiece from 1974 remains one of progressive rock's most inspired and enchanting rarities. Narnia emerged from the Christian rock scene with bands such as Parchment, merging their faith with a modern rock format. Pauline Filby and an early incarnation of After The Fire were both established names in their own right, but joined forces in 1974 to record this classic album. Playing alongside acts such as Blodwyn Pig, Budgie, and Savoy Brown, Narnia were about to take evangelist Britain through a major shift and Aslan Is Not A Tame Lion is an incredible testament to this chapter in both Christian music and British acid folk rock. Includes five bonus tracks from Pauline Filby's 1969 solo album Show Me A Rainbow, including the rare single cut "I'm Hungry". Professionally remastered; Includes background liners and rare archival memorabilia.

LP version. Kingston Sounds present a reissue of Horace Andy's Natty Dread A Weh She Want, originally released in 1979. The Natty Dread A Weh She Want set brings together two legends of reggae music. The stylish and unmistakable falsetto voice of singer Horace Andy, and the production/DJ singing skills of Tapper Zukie. Both artists' catalogues of music stand up strong, but something special out comes from both of them on this set of tunes. "Natty Dread A Weh She Want" was a massive hit when it was released by Tapper Zukie and Horace Andy, but this timeless track still sounds as fresh today as the day it was released in 1979, as do the other tracks on this fine album.

Repressed. 180-gram LP version with embossed chessboard artwork print and printed inner sleeve. In celebration of the 2016 35th anniversary of the December 12, 1981, recording of Manuel Göttsching's legendary E2-E4, one of electronic music's most influential recordings, Göttsching's MG.ART label presents an official reissue, carefully overseen by the master himself. Includes liner notes by Manuel Göttsching, archival photos, and an excerpt of David Elliott's review in Sounds from June 16, 1984."As the story is sometimes told, Göttsching stopped in the studio for a couple of hours in 1981 and invented techno. E2-E4 is the most compelling argument that techno came from Germany-- more so than any single Kraftwerk album, anyway. The sleeve credits the former Ash Ra Tempel leader with 'guitar and electronics', but few could stretch that meager toolkit like Göttsching. Over a heavenly two-chord synth vamp and simple sequenced drum and bass, Göttsching's played his guitar like a percussion instrument, creating music that defines the word 'hypnotic' over the sixty minutes . . . A key piece in the electronic music puzzle that's been name-checked, reworked and expanded upon countless times." --Mark Richardson, Pitchfork

FIVE TIMES OF DUST/UNOVIDUAL & TARA CROSS Five Times Of Dust / Unovidual & Tara Cross EP 12"
"We are proud to present two classic Minimal Wave tracks which have been on heavy rotation for years now, 'Computer Bank' and 'Like I Am, Comme Je Suis' remixed by The Floor (Veronica Vasicka & Karl O'Connor). Five Times Of Dust was formed in Bristol, U.K. in 1981 by Mark Phillips and Rob Lawrence. Mark had answered an advert that Rob had placed in a local record shop and later that year they went on to record and release their first tape, The Dadacomputer. A standout track from that tape, 'Computer Bank' is a seminal, 'proto-techno banger'. The Floor remixed it a while ago to DJ it out and since then have been receiving many requests about where it could be purchased. The flip side features Unovidual & Tara Cross' 'Like I Am Comme Je Suis'. It appeared on our first compilation entitled The Lost Tapes LP, in 2006. Unovidual was a Belgian producer involved with the Micrart Group (Autumn, Linear Movement, Twilight Ritual) and Tara Cross, a 'long lost girl from Brooklyn' who used to play in small NYC downtown clubs alongside Madonna during the early 1980s when she was still an unknown. Unovidual and Tara collaborated on several tracks through the mail during this time as well as in the studio. 'Like I Am Comme Je Suis' was recorded in a studio in Ghent, Belgium in 1985. We find both of these tracks prime examples of innovative and pioneering synth wave tracks that work on and off the dance floor. And through these mixes, The Floor aim to stay true to the artists' original intentions whilst making the songs more dance floor oriented. Featured alongside these remixes, are two unreleased tracks. Rob Lawrence's 'Armoured Car' which at one point was released on a compilation CD as Robert (not to be confused with Rob Doran from Hard Corps) and Unovidual's 'Imponative', a beautiful minimal synth track which has remained unreleased to this day. The Five Times of Dust / Unovidual & Tara Cross EP is pressed on standard weight royal blue clear vinyl and housed in a hand stamped disco sleeve. Limited to 600 hand numbered copies."

MIKAMI/JOHN EDWARDS/ALEX NIELSON, KAN Live at Cafe Oto LP
LP version. Japanese bluesman Kan Mikami is nothing less than an unalloyed force of nature; a skin-shredding blast of frozen wind from the poor, rural north of Japan that he calls home. In the late 1960s, like thousands of other Japanese young people Mikami made his way to Tokyo in search of a life different from that of his parents. Since then he has forcefully carved out a space for himself in the culture as a modernist poet, a raging folk singer, an author, an actor, an engaging TV personality, and one of Japan's most uniquely powerful performers. For most of Mikami's career as a singer, he has performed solo; just him and his electric guitar against the world, creating jagged A-minor vamps to drive along the surreal wisdom of his lyrics. But he's equally at home in more demanding improvisational contexts such as those provided here by John Edwards on bass and Alex Nielson on drums. Their dense propulsive textures seem to spur on Mikami, his voice arcing powerfully into fragmented spaces, his guitar darting, colliding, shedding jagged and angular splinters of sound. A pulsing, raging maelstrom of serrated-edged energy. Gruff, rough, honest and very, very real.

TETRACK Trouble CD
Radiation Roots present a reissue of Tetrack's Trouble, originally released in 1983. Roots harmony trio Tetrack formed in the Mountain View area of east Kingston in the early 1970s, borrowing the name from a local sound system (which had taken the moniker in reference to the Tetrarchy established by the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the third century). Although Paul Mangaroo was the primary lead singer, Carlton Hines wrote most of their material and was the real figurehead of the group; Hines and Dave Harvey were typically employed as backing vocalists, but each also sang lead. A mutual friend introduced them to the visionary producer Augustus Pablo, leading to impressive debut recordings at Lee Perry's Black Ark and the stunning debut LP, Let's Get Started (1978). Despite the album's widespread acclaim, the lack of ready finance and slow pace at Pablo's Rockers stable led the group to shift base to Gussie Clarke's Music Works in 1983, with Hines also being employed as a songwriter for other artists there. The resultant album Trouble was cut for Gussie with Sly And Robbie, the engineer Soljie, and a range of other stellar players, including guitarist Willie Lindo, the material issued in extended "disco mix" format, to make the most of its captivating rhythms; British and Japanese editions complimented its initial Jamaican release.

KORNER'S BLUES INCORPORATED, ALEXIS R&B From The Marquee LP
Rumble Records present a reissue of Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated's R&B From The Marquee British, originally released in 1962. Blues legend Alexis Korner first began performing live in 1949 in Chris Barber's Jazz Band, where he met his longtime bandmate, the great harp player Cyril Davies, and they released their first recordings in 1957. After cutting their teeth on the UK club circuit, honing their skills to near perfection, together in 1961 they formed Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated along with the great UK vocalist Long John Baldry, and released this, their debut album, in 1962. R&B From The Marquee is one of the pillars of British Blues and an album that influenced heavily the coming generation of British Invasion blues groups. Featuring originals penned by Korner, Davies, and Baldry as well as American blues legends Jimmy Witherspoon and Muddy Waters, this is a killer piece of British blues history, finally back in print on vinyl.

GAINSBOURG, SERGE Du Jazz Dans Le Ravin LP
Rumble Records present a reissue of Serge Gainsbourg's Du Jazz Dans Le Ravin, originally released in 1966. Gainsbourg, the original bad boy of French pop, the man who updated the French chanson and made it hip again infusing it with the youth culture of the late '50s and '60s, ruled by jazz, drugs, and free love. Very different from his celebrated later works, the music captured on this vinyl edition finds Gainsbourg mixing traditional chanson and big-band jazz rather than the avant garde pop that went on to define his career outside of France. This record presents a revealing insight into the early years of this iconic figure.

HOOKER, JOHN LEE Burning Hell LP
Rumble Records present a reissue of John Lee Hooker's Burning Hell, originally released in 1964. Blues legend John Lee Hooker cut countless records beginning with his debut for Modern in 1948 and going some 50+ years until his death in 2001. With such a vast discography it can be easy to lose track of some records and Burning Hell, recorded in Detroit in 1959 with just his guitar and vocals, is one such lost record. But this album deserves so much to be rediscovered, a brilliant set from his "acoustic" period, this is raw southern acoustic blues at its best and a truly brilliant collection of songs. Rumble Records bring this lost classic back to light on LP.

KODIAN TRIO II LP
London based saxophonist Colin Webster is quickly establishing himself on the European avant-garde scene. Working with a broad range of collaborators, Webster is known for working from extreme sonic palettes -- from minimal to maximal, constantly pushing boundaries. Webster first worked with Dirk Serries on the landmark Endless Voids performance led by Dead Neanderthals at the 2014 Incubate Festival. Since this initial meeting, the two have worked on different collaborations both live and in the studio, a number of these encounters involving the drummer Andrew Lisle. Also based in London, Andrew Lisle's quick and highly textural playing is making him highly in demand in the fertile improvisation community. In turns both propulsive and abstract, Lisle has worked with a number of key UK-based improvisers including Alex Ward, Daniel Thompson, Seymour Wright, and also plays in the Roland Ramanan Tentet, and punk-improv band Shatner's Bassoon. Dirk Serries is hardly your average improvising musician. Even though the man has a fondness for the classic free jazz of the sixties and seventies and the current updates, his own talents lie elsewhere. As a master of texture, a skill which he's been able to forge and refine for more than 30 years (as Vidna Obmana, Fear Falls Burning, Microphonics, with collaborative projects and, more recently, under his own name), he has always been involved in the more abstract, or sound-oriented wing of experimental music. Serries is now less reliant on his trademark effects and loops. A new "naked" language that veers from gentle strumming to scribbling, pointillism, and occasional outbursts of disjointed howls. Pulling from his great experience in the worlds of ambient and industrial music, as well as from masters like Derek Bailey, Serries's approach is improvisation that relies purely on his relationship with his electric guitar, prepared or not. Personnel: Dirk Serries - electric guitar; Andrew Lisle - drums; Colin Webster - baritone and alto saxophone. Mastering by Dirk Serries. Edition of 300. "Kodian Trio ... blasts through, mashing free improv clicks and clatters with free jazz-inspired hoots and hollers, all wrapped up in a waistcoat of gimlet-eyed punk attitude." --Paul Margree, We Need No Swords

NOVAKS KAPELLE Fartwind - Complete Discography (1967-1979) 2CD
Novaks Kapelle were one of the most legendary bands of the Austrian underground, famous and feared for their wild live performances and strict anti-establishment/music-business/audience/everything attitude. They went from raw psychedelic rock in the late '60s to proto-punk to some kind of weird glam/hard rock at the end. 1978 saw later jazz-star guitarist and Gipsy Love member Harri Stojka joining. Beside some bootlegs available on the internet, many labels tried over the years to release an official complete compilation of their works. After Trost sublabel Cien Fuegos reissued their only full album Naked on vinyl in 2013 (CFX 007LP), Trost finally got an agreement to release this double CD. All Novaks Kapelle related material from Hypodermic Needle 7" (1968), Not Enough Poison/Smile Please 7" (1969), Novakskapellelive (1977), Naked (1978), Brennmaterial Für Die 80er (1979), the compilation WienmusikK (1981), and an unreleased bonus track. Personnel: Walla Mauritz - vocals, saxophone, harmonica (1967-1979); Peter Travnicek - bass (1967-1979); Erwin Novak - drums (1967-1979); Harri Stojka - guitar (1978-1979); Paul Braunsteiner - guitar (1970-1979); Helge Thor - guitar (1967-1970). Comes with extensive 24-page booklet, including many band photos and newspaper-clippings from the '60s and '70s. Liner notes by Al Bird Sputnik (Trash Rock Archives). Remastering by Martin Siewert.

NORMIL HAWAIIANS More Wealth Than Money 2CD
Upset The Rhythm present a reissue of Normil Hawaiians' debut album More Wealth Than Money, originally released in 1982 on Illuminated Records. Normil Hawaiians had a transformative 1982. With two 7" singles and a 12" EP under their belts, they suddenly found themselves disillusioned, so they forced the hand of change. The band's true constant in Guy Smith soon found himself with a new crew of musicians: Simon Marchant, Noel Blanden, and Mark Tyler. Normil Hawaiians' communal take on post punk quickly sprouted and began carving out a new furrow. Greater emphasis was awarded to group improvisations, resulting in longer, freer journeys; Tape loops, echo boxes, extended percussive sessions, and duteous faith in the tones emanating from a particular old wah-wah pedal were all employed by Normil Hawaiians to stretch their sonic fabric into wild and redolent new dimensions. Normil Hawaiians booked into Foel Studios, and Dave Anderson (Hawkwind, Amon Düül II) managed and engineered. Anderson even joined in on bass for several of those sessions. Normil Hawaiians lived together in a small cottage in the studio's shadow, sharing everything together and working long days. This is how the band's debut album More Wealth Than Money was formed, through trial and close listening, through cultivation and patient growth. Of course there were significant amounts of mushrooms involved too and several UFO sightings. More Wealth Than Money proved a vastly ambitious debut album, sprawling in a way that still feels expansive, brave, cinematic even. From the plaintive pastoralism of "British Warm" to the transcendental vistas of "Other Ways Of Knowing", the album constantly surprises with its ringing trails of guitar, motorik pulse, and synth rambles. Guy Smith's vocal floats through the album in a haunting manner. Described by the press upon its release in 1982 as an "absolutely mesmerising double album travelling through progressive rock, via industrial folk to freaky art-punk whilst sounding delightfully coherent" and "a huge slab of mindblowing dark psychedelia," the album was critically acknowledged for its peculiarly British kosmische. It's curious that More Wealth Than Money never came out officially in the UK. The band's label Illuminated Records were temporarily blacklisted by their distributor because of unpaid debts and so the album was only available from the band at concerts within the UK. Remastered; Includes a booklet full of anecdotes and photos from all band members.

GUTHRIE, WOODY Dust Bowl Ballads LP
Wax Love present a reissue of Woody Guthrie's Dust Bowl Ballads, originally released as a full LP in 1964. This is the first record that "The Oklahoma Cowboy" made in NYC for Alan Lomax, after his arrival in 1940, as part of his work for the Library of Congress, taped on April 26th and May 3rd. Originally released as three separate 78 rpm records, these are Guthrie's tales about one of the most dire periods in rural America, the Dust Bowl era. This quintessential work proves that Guthrie was a true minstrel of the other face of America, the one that you can't find in history books: tales of poverty, migration, storms, illness, hunger and harsh criticism of the American government.
