LUNAR PLANE No Age 12"
2DIY4 ("to die for"), the sublabel of Diynamic Music, embarks on a new journey. With this release, 2DIY4 starts a new chapter in its history, turning away from the classic 4/4 house formula and towards new, outstanding and sincere indie down-tempo electronica music. The first artist under the label's new identity is Lunar Plane, consisting of identical twin brothers Emre and Mert from Istanbul. They answered: "We would die for each other, so the first thing comes to mind is twinhood." Together with LA-based October's Child on the vocals, they deliver the first of many chilling electronica EPs for 2DIY4.

BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE, THE Mini Album Thingy Wingy LP
2018 black vinyl repress. Mini Album Thingy Wingy contains seven brand new and exclusive Brian Jonestown Massacre tracks recorded by Anton Newcombe in is his studio in Berlin in 2014 and '15. Running at 35 minutes, the mini-album was co-produced, engineered, and mixed by Fabien Leseure. Four songs written by Newcombe; the band's first Slovakian song, co-written with Vladimir Nosal ("Prsí Prsí"); a composition by Newcombe and Tess Parks ("Pish"); and a cover of the 13th Floor Elevators' "Dust" featuring Alex Maas from The Black Angels on jug. Originally, Newcombe was heavily influenced by The Rolling Stones' psychedelic phase, but his work in the 2000s has expanded into aesthetic dimensions approximating the UK shoegaze genre of the 1990s and incorporating influences from world music, especially Middle Eastern and Brazilian music. This album mixes the traditional Brian Jonestown Massacre sound with Eastern influences and brings it up to date with the benefit of all the additional weirdness that's been discovered in the past 40 years.

Indeed, the whole EP doesn't sound like an assembled work, on the contrary is more a complete entity that moves together in an organic way since the very first track till the last one, creating an impactful musical story.

"With a host of great 12" singles already attributed to this moniker, the Bristol based producer nails his third effort for Berceuse Heroique, again demonstrating the broad palette and eclectic approach to genre that keeps his techno explorations varied and compelling. As adept in building and pushing the pulse, as he is in letting it dissolve amidst more ambient pieces, this is definitely a name for techno heads to keep on their radar." --Vinyl Factory.

EXTRAWELT Schone Neue Extrawelt 2LP
2017 edition. Double LP version. 2017 edition of the 2008 debut by Hamburg's Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe aka Extrawelt. The duo describe the aesthetic of Schöne Neue Extrawelt thusly: "It's all about hooking up our music to the emotional world of electronic music at the beginning of the '90s, however, without falling for nostalgic references. We don't want to do cowardly zeitgeist techno, we want to have the heart to dare big sounds and more melodies. Sunrise scenarios, energy, revolution and kaput-ness, all these are parts of the Extrawelt." Extrawelt have been unmistakably imprinting the last three years' club sound with widely-noticed releases on Border Community (Soopertrack, 2005), Traum Schallplatten (Doch Doch, 2006), and Cocoon Recordings (Titelheld,2006) as well as with remixes for Gregor Tresher, Minilogue and Alexander Kowalski. Work on this record took over two years: "The initial idea was to present an album covering all styles of electronic music between ambient, breakbeats and techno. When we had 25 tracks for the album ready, we had to realize that this approach did not work for us. Insofar, we finally decided to use the 4/4 bass drum in all tracks except in the little intermezzo 'Kurt Curtain.' We have tested all tracks live over the last three months and constantly re-interpreted them. So, the 'danceability' is clearly our focus ... but our intention was definitely not to deliver an album full of superficial peak-time hits." These 12 tracks represent a pleasurable "in-betweenness", the organic development of hypnotically compressed dance music that is more than just minimal techno, reduced trance or electronic circa Warp-era. From the richly decorated musical clock intro of "One Tree Hill" to the stereo singing bowl of "Trümmerfeld", to the Asian-sounding creaking of "Daten Raten", Extrawelt celebrate a vision of futuristic melancholy with organically detailed richness that is permanently in motion, but is nevertheless well-balanced.

THEE HEADCOATEES Punk Girls LP
"Thee Headcoatees Punk Girls reissued after 20 years, it's one of their best and meanest records. The opener, 'Punk Girl', is Kyra at her most defiant. She's had people walk all over her and abuse her and she's not taking shit from anyone anymore. She's out for blood and it shows. Ludella is equally spiteful on 'Don't Wanna Hold Your Hand'. This is really a great angry album. Best version of 'Teenage Kicks' after the original. Screw The Raconteurs. Jack White knows who ripped off who. Of course closer, 'Ca Plane Pour Moi' is the Thee Headcoatees on fire. Not a bad song on here. The Headcoatees were Holly Golightly, Ludella Black, Kyra Rubella & Bongo Debbie, they released seven studio albums, a singles compilation and a split live album with Thee Headcoats. Thee Headcoatees played live along with Thee Headcoats from 1990-1999 when they split followed a year later by Thee Headcoats. Holly Golightly has gone on to release 13 solo albums and too many singles to mention, plus notable guest appearances on records by Rocket From The Crypt, The White Stripes and Mikabomb. Ludella Black was a founder member of legendary Medway band the DelMonas and has also released two solo albums with another planned for 2008 and is currently out on tour with The Masonics. Kyra Rubella released one solo album and singles on quite a few labels in the 1990s, she also did a single with Armitage Shanks in 1996. Kyra is currently in The A-Lines along with Debbie and Julie from The Musicians Of The British Empire. Bongo Debbie is currently in various bands including The Buffets, The A-lines, & Dutronc and before that was also in The Would Be Goods, Honey & The Hucksters, Baby Birkin and probably a lot more besides."

SHAVIT, AMI Neural Oscillations And Alpha Rhythms LP
Dead-Cert dip their dusty digits back in Ami Shavit's precious archive for another hemispheric harmonization of biofeedback techniques and hypnotic synth sonics following Finders Keepers ' reissue of 1977's In Alpha Mood back in 2015 (FKR 077LP). With an enviable private collection of synthesizers first started in 1972 during his travels to the US and shipped home to Tel Aviv, as an established kinetic artist, as well as a professor of both philosophy an art, Ami's main focus was art that involved technology; in particular being able to give something mechanical an emotive angle. As such he sought to combine his love of electronic music acts such as Tangerine Dream and Philip Glass and this new synthesizer technology with his interest in the relatively new technique of biofeedback -- a process in which technology is used to relay information about the body's functions enabling a change of physiological activity in order to manipulate them. Combined with his understanding of alpha brainwave, Ami embarked on an experiment with what he called "Alpha Mood" -- a state in which the brain is working in relaxation and in which he used music as a means of helping induce his own meditative state. With practically no formal musical training and working in complete isolation of the Tel Aviv music scene -- with the exception of allowing cult prog nearly men Zingale and a handful of close friends to use his private studio -- over the course of two years he recorded hours of experimental improvised music, or "sounds" as he prefers to call it. The fruit of that experimentation came in the form of a single privately pressed LP aptly titled In Alpha Mood. Part outsider electronic album; part physiological experiment; part work of art, it was limited to only 500 copies and distributed exclusively by a longtime friend, agent, and owner of a small local record shop in Tel Aviv. Five 1/4-inch tapes (including the In Alpha Mood master tape) represent the only remaining artifacts of Ami's experiments -- the rest having been either lost, given to friends, or simply thrown away. Undated and unannotated, these raw studio recordings provide a rare glimpse of Ami at work in his attempts to perfect his technique and reach the plane of "Alpha Mood". RIYL: Tangerine Dream, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, Cluster. Artwork by Andy Votel. Cut at Dubplates & Mastering. Edition of 500.

DE ANGELIS, GUIDO & MAURIZIO Continuavano A Chiamarlo Trinita LP+CD
The journey into the spaghetti westerns world continues -- the complete OST by Guido and Maurizio De Angelis for Continuavano A Chiamarlo Trinità ("Trinity Is Still My Name") directed by E.B. Clucher (Enzo Barboni) in 1971. Trinity (Terence Hill) and Child (Bud Spencer), brothers and outlaw vagabonds with a tender heart, are mistaken for federal agents by Parker (Emilio Delle Piane), a violent arms dealer. Taking advantage of the misunderstanding, the two let him willingly "buy" them with the dollars of the shady character, and then try an even bigger shot. This soundtrack was the first by Guido and Maurizio De Angelis for a film with Terence Hill and Bud Spencer, with the editing created for the CD presents nearly faithfully the film sequence, in the second part the not synchronized versions were included in the movie versions. The De Angelis brothers composed a main theme "Trinity Stand Tall", which anticipates the style that will always be used in the next film with the Dynamic Duo, with guitars and wind instruments and fresh Western taste, forming a melodic theme to emphasize the infatuation of Trinity for the beautiful daughter of the poor immigrant (Remember). Another recurring theme in the western musicality but with a touch of beat. In describing instead the convent and therefore the sacredness of the place, the De Angelis composed a theme for organ and choir in various tracks to remind the listener of a "purely western setting represented by harmonicas, guitars" and the inevitable saloon piano. Included CD features the stereo master tapes of the original session, with every recorded note of this beautiful OST. Digitmovies offer the track list already released in the 1972 album, released by RCA, adding two bonus tracks the instrumental version of Trinity stand tall. Edition of 300.

RUSTICHELLI, CARLO L'armata Brancaleone LP+CD
LP version. Includes CD. Edition of 300. Carlo Rustichelli (Carpi, December 24, 1916 - Rome, November 13, 2004) was the author of hundreds of film soundtracks and will go down in history for his famous friendship with director Pietro Germi and for the "Brancaleone March", a true iconic hymn like the James Bond theme by Monty Norman or "The Raiders March" by John Williams from Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). This unforgettable choir motif is introduced by "Branca Branca Branca Leon Leon Leon" and a whistle and is the heart of the background music, which the author reprises with orchestral versions that are sometimes comical and sometimes dramatic -- all under the direction of Bruno Nicolai. Two of the other supporting scores are "Pirulè" the psalm theme of the pilgrims, and "Cuccuruccù" sung by a female voice accompanied by the mandola. L'armata Brancaleone was released in 1966. It won three Silver Ribbons and was presented in competition at the 19th Cannes Film Festival. CD includes the mono master tapes from the original recording session; Digitmovies have included the audio editing on the first fifteen tracks, which the label prepared with Maestro Rustichelli for the CD's first release in 1995, followed by film versions, alternate takes, and the singles released in 1966 on the single Parade PRC 5002. The CD ends with the rare take of the march introduced by the voice of Vittorio Gassman.

RUSTICHELLI, CARLO Brancaleone Alle Crociate LP+CD
LP version. Includes CD. Edition of 300. For the sequel to 1966's L'armata Brancaleone ("For Love and Gold") (CDDM 289CD, LPDM 008LP), Carlo Rustichelli (December 24, 1916, Carpi - 13 November 2004, Rome) resumes his famous "March of Brancaleone" and "Pirulè" ("the pilgrim theme"), this time entrusting Gianfranco Plenizio to conduct the orchestra. Maestro Rustichelli created a new score which is romantic and veiled with sadness for Felicilla, the witch (Stefania Sandrelli) who enters Brancaleone's heart. This time Brancaleone gets caught up in the Crusades and the score alternates dramatic with haunting passages that would fit perfectly in a horror film. This is a well-deserved musical recovery for the trio Monicelli, Rustichelli, Gassman, who created a masterpiece for Italian cinema. Vittorio Gassman won "Best Actor" at the San Sebastian Festival in 1971 for this film. Brancaleone Alle Crociate was released in 1970. CD includes the stereo master tapes of the original recording session. Digitmovies have includes the audio editing on the first twenty tracks which the label prepared with Maestro Rustichelli for the CD's first release in 1995, followed by film versions, alternate takes, and the singles released in 1970 on RCA Records.

SORENSEN, NICKLAS Solo 2 LP
LP version. Nicklas Sørensen's second solo effort away from his main stint as guitar player in Papir is a more placid, blissful listen than his first solo venture from 2016 (EPR 029CD/LP). On this set Nicklas digs deep into his love for vintage new age music, Brazilian bossa nova, and the electronic side of kosmische, while still paying homage to the guitar heroes that have shaped his playing throughout the years, such as Vini Reilly, Manuel Göttsching, and Michael Rother. Produced in collaboration with Causa Sui and El Paraiso in-house maestro Jonas Munk in his Odense studio, the pair has conjured a set of tracks that are blistering and euphoric, yet relaxed and solemn. Sørensen's unique guitar sound, in combination with warm blankets of analog synths, vibrating filters, and the occasional drum machine, paints colorful soundscapes that mediate the soul with both the ethos of new age and hints of classical minimalism and modern composition. Experimentation is at the heart of Sørensen's modus operandi, but he never forgets to keep his melodic guitar leads central to the proceedings. The B side is unashamedly immersive -- with Munk wrapping bubbly analog synths sequences around Sørensen's guitar loop patterns and panoramic slide guitars. The album ends on Sørensen's most inward-traveling note yet, bathing expressive guitar lines in a tender ocean of processing and reverb. Get that incense burning!

DOPE FEAT. JULIAN COPE The Dee Dee Ramone Story LP
Here's some sweet relief at last for hi-fi fans. Yes, Dope's obscure "cassette-only" album is now available on white vinyl, again from Bristol's Environmental Studies record label. This limited edition LP features two side-long epics each of over 20 minutes in duration, and both tracks replete with that same gargantuan sonic overload of the band's two previous releases. Side one's "The Dee Dee Ramone Story" commences with Julian Cope's epic tale of 21st century gender bending and sexual enfreeing before its low-key pulses become o'erwhelmed by the stratospherics of the Dope crew. Imagine very early Ash Ra Tempel through the filter of Brainticket's LP Cottonwoodhill (1971), and then some -- er, and then some more. Dope are The-Not-Back-Off Kids, for sure. Side two's bumpy "Absalom & Ahitophel" appropriates the sentiments of John Dryden's epic poem from 1681, then feeds it all through Holy McGrail's space echo to achieve what could be called the most true rastakrautpasta. Packaged in fluorescent orange and white sleeve; Edition of 500.

Originally released in October 2017 on Eskimo Recordings, Paresse's Sloth Machine EP won the Swedish producer a legion of new fans. Wisely opting to retain much of the feel of the original, Sasha and Sergey have instead gently pushed the tempo, toughened up the drums with a new focus on the track's percussive elements and added a greater depth of space.

DIE TODLICHE DORIS Sprechpause LP
Die Tödliche Doris's Wolfgang Müller and Chris Dreier revisit In der Pause from 1981. In der Pause ("During the Pause") was the title of the last track on the B side of " ", the first album by Die Tödliche Doris (1982). In der Pause was pause music, as well as the announcement of the interval between their debut album, released in 1982, and the box format project Chöre und Soli that followed in 1983. The original sounds of In der Pause survived on a single audio tape dating from 1981. Now, about 35 years later, Chris Dreier and Wolfgang Müller have used the material recorded on the audio tape as the source for five new tracks of pause music. The material on the original audio tape was reworked using Moog analog effect modules and Ableton Live. It has been supplemented with archived announcement interludes from radio and television stations, including German stations WDR, NDR and HR, Radio Italy, IBF, and Radio Kamerun. Sprechpause was recorded in 1981-1982 by Chris Dreier, Nikolaus Utermöhlen, and Wolfgang Müller and reworked by Wolfgang Müller and Chris Dreier in 2017. Single-sided LP.

SATO, MASAHIKO Belladonna LP
Restocked. "There was a time when the strength of a musician's vision transcended all labels; here is a chance to dip into that pool again, and emerge not just refreshed, but alive again with the sense that we all can live in that world again, but most importantly raise the flag for excellence. Fantastic." --Jim O'RourkeAn unholy grail of near-mythical status is finally now available in the form of this first-ever reissue. Masahiko Sato composed this elusive, sensual, psychedelic free jazz score for the stunning 1973 Japanese witchcraft animation Belladonna of Sadness (Kanashimi no Belladonna) directed by Eiichi Yamamoto. Since the mid-2000s, Belladonna of Sadness has risen from the ashes and now shines brighter than ever. Now, on the eve of its third or fourth global DVD release in 2015, fans no longer have to settle for third-generation VHS telecine dubs or stuff their wish-lists into the hands of lucky friends visiting Tokyo. Belladonna has been used as nightclub projections by clued-up VJs and been restored by discerning feminist folk singers and improv bands while influencing illustrators, fashion designers, and other creative types along the way. Original copies of the soundtrack, however, are much less likely to rear their heads, with prices literally doubling each time the original stock copies swap hands among the same Italian dealers at central European record fairs. Italian soundtracks are expensive anyway, but this one, originally released by the Italian Cinevox label in 1975, has extra credentials. Finders Keepers Records and Sato himself agreed that this record should finally be liberated among those who know the magic words. With the decision to keep this album "strictly Sato," a track from the original release has been removed -- the main orchestral love theme by Asei Kobayashi and Mayumi Tachibana -- which in all honesty is very much detached from Sato's psychedelic soundtrack. Kept intact, however, are the songs sung and penned by Sato's wife at the time, Chinatsu Nakayama, including the track titled "TBFS," which only appears on the master tapes and never actually made it onto the theatrical cut of the film (though the theme is briefly alluded to, with different instrumentation, in a cut-scene available on the German DVD release). This reissue project also marks the beginning of a longer intended relationship between Finders Keepers and Masahiko Sato, exploring his recorded work in film music, jazz, and avant-garde composition.

ROLLIN, JEAN The B-Music of Jean Rollin: Various Artists 1968-1973 LP
Rising out of the smoky Parisian Mai 68 shrapnel and claiming his stake as the first French vampire movie director, the inimitable father of European horrortica, Jean Rollin (1938-2010) has smudged the painted face of surrealist cinema for over five decades. Dragging his roots from beneath the Letterist/Situationist movements, avant-garde theater, and Belgian fine art groups and entwining them around the minds of sexual revolutionaries, the European comic book cognoscenti and the Parisian free jazz and rock scenes, Rollin stopped at nothing to bring his macabre fantasies of zygotic vampyrism and backwoods blood cults to Gallic cinémathèques and beyond. Celebrating the immortal legacy of the late director, Finders Keepers compile a detailed and comprehensive music cabinet of some of the finest musical moments from his initial directorial decade between 1968-1979, which provided a much needed platform for the freak rock and free jazz that mirrored the distorted erotic visions in his own mind's eye. Imagine Gong-gone-wrong meeting the art ensembles of Châteauroux... Fantasy pop groups mutate and thrive within... Features tracks from Yvon Gerault, Acanthus, Pierre Raph, and François Tusques.

KLEISTWAHR Down But Defiant Yet CD
Collecting two songs from the long out-of-print, ultra-limited 10" lathe-cut released in spring 2017 on New Zealand Independent Woman Records, "Broken and Beaten in 5/8 Time Part 1. Beaten" and "Broken and Beaten in 5/8 Time Part 2. Broken", plus two previously unreleased tracks exclusive to this release. Generally more refined than previous Kleistwahr work, the pieces here catch Gary Mundy (also of Ramleh and Broken Flag Records) furrowing his distinct and recognizable take on a kind of contemporary psychedelia with dystopian leanings. Also nodding towards the fug generated by certain "krautrock" groups whilst retaining threads of those uncompromising power-noise surges he built his reputation on, this is music guaranteed to take you to new spaces before forcing you to nervously look over your shoulder.

CERAMIC TL + IPEK GORGUN Perfect Lung LP
The third and final release from Halocline Trance for 2017 is Perfect Lung, a collaborative album from Istanbul-based composer Ipek Gorgun and Ceramic TL, aka David Psutka (Egyptrixx, ANAMAI, LIMIT). A decadent yet durable offering of material sound, recorded remotely during 2016 and 2017 in Toronto, Ankara, and Istanbul. Seven songs of original, accidental music that span color and feeling; the petroleum psychedelia of Ceramic TL framed by Gorgun's precise and emotional landscapes. Inhaling/exhaling full-register slabs hint at the multi-dimensionality of optimism and voicelessness... multiple things in multiple ways. Chill melodies plod then dissolve entirely like a casual toil. Whatever you like. All creative output is eco-political in nature but this record avoids directive and cliché. Moments of clarity glint through piles of junk; total quantity mimics eruptions of precious material -- an unrealistic examination of the concept of material value as defined by its relative scarcity... this album is a lot. A fixation with excess contrasts the corporeal impermanence of humans with the material half-life of their consumer existence. Our legacy is trash -- stray objects inside the perfect lung. Features original artwork by Marlen Keller; Design by Olenka Szymonski. Mastered by James Plotkin at Plotkinworks.Ceramic TL is a project of material sound and concrete emotion -- tranquil, concussive electronics from Toronto-based musician David Psutka (Egyptrixx, ANAMAI, LIMIT). Ipek Gorgun is an electronic music composer currently enrolled in the doctoral program of Sonic Arts at Istanbul Technical University's Center for Advanced Studies in Music. Her debut album Aphelion was released in 2016 and subsequently reissued by Touch. Enthusiastic critical praise for the album's textural landscapes and exquisite sound design followed; The Quietus compared Gorgun's solo works to "choreographed chemical reactions on a macro scale."

Compiling both released and previously unreleased material from the eighties, Kanker Kommando's Low Tech 1982-1988 is a revelatory retrospective, shining a light on one of Belgium's best kept secrets. Forming in 1980 as a punk group, influenced by English post-punkers Swell Maps, Kanker Kommando quickly evolved and by 1982 they were fully invested in making experimental music on primitive electronics. Their music was free of traditional boundaries and reflected the grimness of their times, which resulted in a deteriorating, roughly-hewn sound. CIRCUIT BREAKER Hands Return To Shake LP
Circuit Breaker is a band split in half. On the one hand, there is the jagged guitar and maudlin singing of Peter Simpson, which slots into the lineage of expansive and gothic punk ala Killing Joke, Bauhaus, Wire, etc. Pushing against it is the production approach of his brother Edward. Washes of glassy FM synth melodies are counterbalanced with bursts of electronic harshness, recalling artists such as Autechre or Pan Sonic. Hands Return To Shake is their second full-length. Moving on from the previous record, My Descent into Capital (HARB 151CD/LP, 2015), Hands Return is a much more personal and emotive work. Simultaneously a reaffirmation and a deconstruction of influences, the orthodoxies of minimal-synth and post-punk are stretched and squeezed to breaking point. Circuit Breaker is a band who relish in holding together contradictions. Both a rock band and an electronic act, they have a blunt and direct production approach which is full of technical detail.

2RAUMWOHNUNG Melancholisch Schon CD
German electro-pop duo 2raumwohnung goes bossa nova -- the Melancholisch Schön album (translated e.g. "Melancholic and Nice") was originally released on June 20, 2005 by Universal Music. Packaged in a four-panel digisleeve with a 12-page booklet, including photos and lyrics, it is a timeless recording mastered by Moritz Von Oswald at Dubplates & Mastering, who also played percussion, keyboards, and did the programming for the track "Elisabeth". For Melancholisch Schön, Inga Humpe and Tommi Eckart picked some of their best known songs and mixed them in a summer shape and sound: not only Brazilian bossa nova but also salsa, fusion, and elements of pop are the ingredients of this production, which contains new compositions as well as popular 2raumwohnung songs like "Wir Trafen Uns In Einem Garten". In the same time, they received the award "Goldene Stimmgabel" (Music Industry Price in Germany according to GfK/Media Control sales figures) in the "best duo" category.

2RAUMWOHNUNG Lasso CD
Named after the late Renaissance pop star Orlando di Lasso, 2raumwohnung's sixth album Lasso was originally released on July 31, 2009 by Universal Music. Packaged in a four-panel digisleeve with ten-page leporello booklet including the lyrics, it is a timeless recording which was mastered by Nilesh Patel at The Exchange and Sascha Bühren at TrueBusyness Mastering. 2raumwohnung's sixth album Lasso sounds -- in their own words -- like the "'70ies futuristic" urban jungle groove. With "Der Letzte Abend Auf Der Welt" and "Überall Rein" it starts with punky, rumbling, and thrilling sounds and attitude that hasn't been heard in 2raumwohnung before. Lasso contains, as well, the singles "Wir Werden Sehen" and "Rette Mich Später", which were later remixed by artists like Paul Kalkbrenner and Blake Baxter.

2RAUMWOHNUNG Achtung Fertig (Expanded Edition) CD
2raumwohnung's return to the origin: electronics, electronics! -- The Achtung Fertig album (translated "Attention and Get Ready") was originally released on September 17, 2013 by Universal Music. Packaged in a great four-panel hardcover digisleeve with a 20-page booklet including images and lyrics, it is a timeless recording. Special guests include Dan The Automator and Moritz Von Oswald. For this 16-track expanded edition remixes by HVOB and Westbam have been added. A 13-year journey led 2raumwohnung's playful, ravy sound through pop, bossa nova, techno, and punk, to neo-wave and pop again. With Achtung Fertig, which was produced in Berlin, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, Inga and Tommi close a long, big circle and return to the origin: electronics, electronics! Barely any guitars, and few acoustic instruments. It's the soundtrack for dressing up and making out, for sunsets and sunrises, between chimneys and buildings. As they say: "Ein neues Gefühl - a new feeling. Our longing for a pressure free moment and most of all: just music."

Proving once more his skills in meshing up folk pop with electronic music, he left a big mark on Hans Nieswandt (Whirlpool Productions), who now throws the track "Ghosts" into the club: a grooving funk bass played by Levent Canseven meets a rattling hi-hat and spacey sound effects. The stylish and unmistakable falsetto voice of singer Horace Andy, and the production/DJ singing skills of Tapper Zukie. Both artists' catalogues of music stand up strong, but something special out comes from both of them on this set of tunes. HELIOS CREED On The Dark Side Of The Sun CD
"Helios Creed is a founding member of legendary US avant-garde space rock band Chrome. Chrome was founded in San Francisco in 1975. Their sound wasn't easy to label -- being ahead of their time, Helios Creed and Damon Edge created music that featured heavy elements of feedback and distortion. They experimented in mixing synthesized noise with rock instrumentation, therefore they are now seen as part of the post-punk movement (even when punk was still in full flow at that time). Their breakthrough came in 1977 with their second album Alien Soundtracks. The band largely abandoned conventional rock compositions, instead employing cut-up and collage techniques and heavily processed sound to create a kind of sci-fi punk style. Creed says he invented his trademark guitar sound trying to replicate the sound he heard in his head, while listening to Black Sabbath on LSD on headphones when he was a teenager. He is currently working both on his solo career, as well as the re-activated Chrome. On The Dark Side Of The Sun was originally released in 2003 on Staticwhitesound Records. For this re-issue, we have remastered the whole album and added some live bonus tracks."

VENTURA, FRED Future Unknown: The Lost House Trax 1988-1992 LP
Conceived along the space of a few years and part of a big collection of unfinished experiments stored on cassette tapes, this eight track selection represents Fred Ventura's late '80s and early '90s infatuation with Chicago house, Detroit techno, early Warp records, and even a secret passion for EBM. Using a basic set up made of Roland Juno 106, Roland JX-8P, Oberheim DX, Roland TR909, and an Akai sampler, these tracks were never officially mixed and never meant to be released, until now. Minimal and hypnotic, dry and direct, both sides of the record show an instinctive approach to rhythms and basslines, typical of those days where computer didn't have a predominant role in the creative process. One of the Italian electronic music's best-kept secrets. Graphic design by Alessandro Adriani. Mastering by Alden Tyrell and Enrico Colombo. Solid grey vinyl; Edition of 400.

MIRT & TER Bacchus Where Are You? LP
LP version. Clear vinyl; Edition of 300. The two staples of Polish electronica are on it again. Mirt and TER, after solo releases are back together with their next offering. Culled from hours of "live-in-the-studio" improvisation, these 45 minutes stand out among the contemporaneous albums with a one-of-a-kind mix of post-ambient electronica having as diverse roots as techno, minimal music, krautrock electronica, and Afro-beat. Based on sounds created with modular synthesizers with a dash of Prophet 12, Mirt and TER venture on a journey into thick textures obscuring lace melodies. Instead of typical four-on-the-floor rhythms they draw inspirations from African music and translate them into rich yet subtle digital structure. Subtlety is in fact the key word here. Instead of immediacy of many present-day acts they prefer their music to unravel in a leisurely manner. Each of the five tracks here has a different focus. "Bacchus Theme" is a rhythmic-oriented, almost tribal five-minute piece, whereas "Disaster Reworked" is a floating composition carrying dense drone structures. The centerpiece seems to be "Wooden Object" closing in at 14 minutes, where Mirt and TER seem to play with their toys, but at the same time not losing focus on creating a cohesive piece of work. You can say the same thing about the whole album: it's varied, each fragment stands on its own, but at the same time all five of them create one coherent record.

FLEISCHMANN, B. Stop Making Fans 2LP
Double LP version. Housed in a gatefold sleeve; Includes download code. B. Fleischmann, the longest-tenured solo artist on Morr Music, returns with indie-spirited, electronica-enhanced moments of bliss on his new album Stop Making Fans. Recorded with a little help from friends including vocalist Gloria Amesbauer, Markus Schneider (guitars), and Valentin Duit (drums), it's a two-part reflection on artistic self-reliance vs. fame-seeking conformism, another deeply personal, utterly idiosyncratic album by the indie-tronic trailblazer. "Stop it and just DO", Sol LeWitt once wrote to sculptor Eva Hesse -- and listening to B. Fleischmann's new album, he indeed does both: He slams on the brakes and stops looking at what anyone else is doing, stops pleasing, stops being restrained, and at the same time he floors the accelerator and delivers the kind of high-paced work that bursts at the seams with polyphonic energy and an urgency unique to his music. Arriving with interlocked bleeps, the hustle and bustle of an invisible grand station's atrium ("Here Comes The A Train"), Fleischmann's trademark vocals serve as a gentle reminder to resist the siren calls, to not trust the latest hype. Energy levels remain high throughout the first part of the album -- whether it's the mumbling, personal stocktaking of what feels like an underwater hymn ("There Is A Head"), the robotic, immodest pop tune "It's Not Enough" (featuring Gloria Amesbauer) or the return to light-speed mode on "Wakey Wakey" -- the first half of this album is indeed all about letting off some steam. After the collected canter of seven-minute instrumental "Hand In", the multi-instrumentalist and his studio mates kick off the slower-paced part two with the title song: it's a sonic tapestry that's impossible to compare or pigeonhole when he changes the rhythm in mid-track and turns yet another corner when you thought there was a fixed pattern. Guest singer Gloria Amesbauer returns for soothing tunes "The Pros Of Your Children" and "Hello Hello". B. Fleischmann guides us to his almost jazz-tinged "Little Toy", and leaves behind an "Endless Stunner" -- another typically dense and shape-shifting stream of harmonies. Stop Making Fans, Fleischmann's his first full-length release in five years, is another totally unique, and thus potentially fan-base enhancing release.

ALPHA, OTIM Gulu City Anthems 2LP
None-more-vital East African label Nyege Nyege Tapes present Otim Alpha's melodic electro Acholi bangers on vinyl for the first time, following suit with their blazing, acclaimed Sounds Of Sisso compilation (NNT 005LP). Alpha's debut international release Gulu City Anthems features 11 songs written and recorded between 2004 and 2015 in Northern Uganda and ranges from hi-velocity bangers to more romantic mid-tempo swagger, all serving a totally infectious showcase of his plugged-in take on traditional Larakaraka wedding music that's bound to get a lot of listeners itching for a +1 invite to one of his ceremonial sessions (crashing is always an option, too!). Working with producer Leo Palayeng, Otim essentially computerized Acholi wedding music, weaving its traditional, see-sawing folk fiddles and call-and-response vocals with stripped, pounding drum machine polyrhythms in a sort of hypnotic, minimalist delirium. For the most part, it's properly up-tempo, with some searing highlights in the likes of his wickedly off-kilter jig "Kodi Pa Barikiya (Kwan)", the jabbing clash of almost cajun-style rapid-fire riffs and turbo-charged toms in "Toni G", or the Detroit/Chicago ghetto-compatible bang of "Too Wiye Ming-Alphazo". But there's also one super-charming piece called "Agiki Ne Tye" which works at a relatively leisurely 120bpm with strolling bass and bright, joyful chord cadence, presumably intended to allow the party a sweet breather. Following Alpha's recent, stellar introductory live show at Unsound '17, this collection is set to impress eager ears beyond Uganda and the East African scene, and is surely destined to be lodged in record collections somewhere between your Shangaan Electro, Konono No.1 and Caribbean soca faves -- in other words: your party-starting section. SEGURA, JAVIER El Sol Desde Oriente: Selected & Unreleased Works, 1980-1990 LP
Passat Continu offers the first-ever compilation by the Spanish musician Javier Segura (born 1955), who worked as an isolated cell from his home studio in the Canary Islands. Although Javier Segura has been recording music in his studio almost continuously since the '70s, his relevance and recognition as a musician has been limited to experimental music circles. The fact that he worked outside of the country's spotlight of power kept his name relatively unknown for years. Only the appreciation of a few collectors and disc jockeys kept the light on. Working for decades from the underground, Segura build up some brilliant ideas producing dozens of richly textured songs, stretching borders on every corner of the experimental music term. Using guitars, rhythm boxes, trumpets, synths, or simply pedals, Segura managed his own career and produced a handful of albums by himself: El Ser Y El Tiempo (1976), No Mires Atrás (1983), Nostalgia De Lo Humano (1986), Lamento Bereber (1989), El Ángel Caído Vol I, La Lluvia Azul (2004), Levántate (2005), and El Orden Y El Caos (2006). He also teamed up with Juan Belda on the noisy and only improv project Arte Moderno (1981-1982), using the Roland TR-808 rhythm box as a main actor for the first time in the post-Franco's Spain era. El Sol Desde Oriente uses three of those songs and adds six more previously unreleased productions recorded from 1980 to 1990, probably his most active and brilliant period of time. Vinyl comes with insert with previously unseen photos and liner notes by Javier Segura and Passat Continu's curator David G. Balasch.

ZWEIKOMMASIEBEN Zweikommasieben #16 MAG
To what extent can we imagine community, exchange, and collective projects that no longer fall back on the dominant narratives of nation, fatherland, and family? This is the question posed by Terre Thaemlitz in a detailed exchange featured in the 16th edition of zweikommasieben. Throughout this issue of the magazine, similar questions are asked; the artists and musicians featured seem to be looking for a progressive reaction to the feeling of disintegration that not only can be witnessed in the larger society but in the music scene as well. The questions are subliminally present in the contribution about the independent collective and venue called Macao, or in interviews with musicians such as NON's Farai or American experimentalist Steve Hauschildt. The answers often remain ambivalent; ultimately there won't be any utopias. "There's a sun in the sky," as Laurel Halo points out in the magazine, "but it's burning ever hotter." Includes interviews with DVA Damas, Farai, Laurel Halo, Mechatok, Parrish Smith, Steve Hauschildt; portraits on Golden Pudel's/V I S's Nina as well as Evil Grimace and Von Bikräv from Casual Gabberz; essays on "Late-Phase Identity Politics" (with Terre Thaemlitz) and "A Short History of the Aesthetics of Excess in Hip Hop"; columns on the oral history in reggae ("Basslines"), Black Sweat Records ("From Here Till Now"); pictures from Georg Gatsas ("We Are Time") and Nadja Stäubli (about Red Bull Music Academy Weekender 2016 in Zürich?) as well as poetry with "Sound Texts"; Contributions by Das Ding, Macao, Laraaji, and German Army. BUNNY TYLERS, THE Chance Meetings LP
LP version. Drone/ambient group from Beirut, whose core consists of guitarists Charbel Haber (Scrambled Eggs, Malayeen, Johnny Kafta's Anti-Vegetarian Orchestra) and Fadi Tabbal (The Incompetents, Under The Carpet, Safar), often joined on stage by Pascal Semerdjian and Marwan Tohmé from folk band Postcards. Operating firmly outside of any musical trends, at the heart of Bunny Tylers is the desire to tie musical loose ends and threads derived as much from the two men's solo records, as a very tangible teenage dream of remaking My Bloody Valentine's Loveless (1991). The duo initially came together in 2013 to compose and record incidental music for Nadim Tabet and Karine Wehbe's video essay "Summer of 91". They began exploring different guitar bowing techniques, away from rigid compositional stratagems. Preoccupied with texture rather than finite structure, guitar drones and intricate pedal-work set the ambience and mood for Haber's lyrics of self-reflection and existential bleakness. First album Glitches & Drones 2013-2016 (RPTD 016CD), was released by Lebanese indie label Ruptured in 2016. The duo's second album was recorded by Benoit de Villeneuve (from Team Ghost and a collaborator of M83) in 2017.

MOVE D & BENJAMIN BRUNN Honey 12"
2018 repress. "After building up a unique state of the art sound for ages -- including records on labels such as Bine, Source, Modern Love, Uzuri, Warp and many others -- Move D and Benjamin Brunn come along with a single on Smallville, a teaser for their forthcoming album Songs from the Beehive. The Honey EP takes a short trip into the world of two ultraspecial producers. Benjamin Brunn and Move D cut these three pieces from their ultradeep live jams and the result is magical. The deeply kicking 'Honey' is already proved by Smallville's Lawrence: 'how crazy can the Panorama bar get!' His flatmate Efdemin prefers the 'Melons': 'that's the deep shit for life!' And Golden Pudel Chief Ralf Köster is amazed about his new ambient number one 'After the Rain.' In the end Move D and Benjamin Brunn put together what belongs together looking forward to their big album in 2008."

PARRISH, THEO Black Jazz Signature 2LP
2018 repress; gatefold double LP version. This version is unmixed. Arguably one of the world's most important underground dance music producer/DJs Theo Parrish lends his hands to selecting and mixing a set of jazz and funk records licensed from and originally released on the Black Jazz label 1971-1976. World-renowned for his DJ sets and remixes/productions, this Chicago-raised artist is near impossible to pigeonhole. Revered by a wide spectrum of dedicated music fanatics, he is known for his otherworldly DJ sets, and his serious approach to DJing as an art form. Theo gives special attention to fellow Chicago musicians The Awakening (three consecutive tracks, four total on the mix), one of the best funk/fusion groups that the Black Jazz label released, and whose only output was on that label. The set itself is a masterful "two turntables all vinyl" execution, a format that Theo is dedicated to -- no mp3, no CD-R, just the vinyl palette for the true aural experience. Sit back and be drawn into his world -- hear things his way. Other artists include: Doug Carn, Gene Russell, Calvin Keys, Rudolph Johnson, and Walter Bishop Jr.

Maestro Bruno Zambrini's soundtrack masterpiece originally recorded for the TV series Racconti Di Mare in 1970, directed by Nestore Ungaro. Mental vintage underwater score -- one of the best from library/soundtrack music production. The music is a total trip with insane psychedelic and underground beats to die for, killer drum breaks, aquatic lounge and bossa themes, and huge underwater drama moods. ADRIANI, ALESSANDRO Enter The Fire 12"
Alessandro Adriani's debut EP for Stroboscopic Artefacts, Enter The Fire, is the first evidence of a new mutation in the Stroboscopic DNA. Adriani's skillful distillation of the impactful elements from EBM, acid, darkwave, and industrial is on display on "He Who Harnesses The Souls". "Rituals (707 EBM Version)" is a tense martial stomp designed around a classically effective sequence of 16th notes and bruising kick drum. A more contemplative version of "Rituals" is a deviously designed mirage of shifting audio sands. "Astronomy" evokes a private investigator on a stakeout with continuous high-frequency tones, magnified surface noise, and other encoded signals.

SIDHARTA, OTTO Four Indonesian Electronic Pieces 1979-1984 LP
LP version. Features four selections from the double-CD version, Indonesian Electronic Music 1979-92. Fascinating and unreleased before music by Otto Sidharta, pioneer of Indonesian electronic music. Electronic compositions that integrated natural sounds and urban sounds to this extent were extremely rare at the time they were recorded, which in turn gives them a unique form of intensity. This collection is released as an entry in Sub Rosa's Early Electronic series.Otto Sidharta was born in Bandung, Indonesia November 6, 1955. In 1978 he studied music composition in Jakarta Institute of Arts under guidance of Slamet Abdul Sjukur. In 1984 he continued his post graduate study in composition and electronic music with Professor Ton de Leeuw in Sweelinck Conservatorium Amsterdam. In 2015 he started his doctoral study at Institute Seni Indonesia Surakarta, finishing in 2016. Sidharta's interest in using environmental sounds and synthetics sounds to express his musical ideas developed when he was a student at the Jakarta Institute of Arts. He performed his first electronic music piece, "Kemelut", based on water sounds in the First Indonesian Young Composer Festival (Pekan Komponis Muda) in 1979. In 1979 he begin to collect some nature and animal sounds on Nias Island, Borneo (Kalimantan) jungle, Riau islands, and other remote places. These sounds were used as material for some of his works such as "Ngendau", "Hutan Plastik", and "East Wind". Otto Sidharta is still alive and performing around the world.

This is the first time the group's debut release has been reissued in its original format since 1979. Produced by the legendary Bob Rock in his seminal days, Teen City delivers six classic anthems ranging from the über-catchy 'Barbra' (chorus: 'B-A-R-B-R-A, Barbra') to the teen-angst-tinged 'Confidential' to the cool of 'Celebrity Crackup'."

COBRA FAMILY PICNIC Magnetic Anomaly CD
"Cobra Family Picnic have been their reputation as one of Tucson, Arizona's premier psychedelic exports for the last three years, sharing stages with critically acclaimed bands such as Moon Duo, White Manna, The Myrrors, and Mugstar, and releasing a wonderful debut EP back in 2015. Originally formed by bassist Boyd Peterson and keyboardist Lesli Wood, the band has mined a rich vein of mantric, rhythmically-focused space rock that would have had heads bobbing at the Dom in '66 or Ibiza in '88, a sound that has perhaps reached its apex in their new, debut full-length, Magnetic Anomaly. Over the album's forty-seven-odd minutes, Cobra Family Picnic create a fuzzy, blissed-out haze that touches on an entire encyclopedia of underground psychedelia: the trance-inducing keys of Suicide, the post-Velvets go-go freakout of Les Rallizes Denudes, the smoky snake-song of early Doors, the pulsating locked grooves of Neu. We're talking nine mind-fried cuts of cyclical psychedelic minimalist jams, and when the NASA radio transmissions beam in across the grooves and Randall Dempsey's echo-drenched vocals rend the darkness, you can start to feel your brain being teleported to the outer reaches of the universe."

FENDIKA Birabiro CD
"Melaku Belay of Fendika runs an amazing club in Addis Ababa. Over the years the Ex/Terp has spent many nights there and saw a lot of incredible music and dance -- an Azmari-bet new style, with new ways of running the place and taking care of the artists, but still keeping all focus on the creativity and social function of a cultural bar. Melaku likes to call the music 'Addis Tradition,' which means 'new tradition.' One can feel the strong, traditional Ethiopian tunes, deeply rooted in the culture of many regions, but also sense a new generation of great dancers and musicians. Fendika are extremely talented and groundbreaking in their technique and approach. Since being discovered, they have been over to Europe, playing several tours and Ex Festivals, being on the road with the Ex and even playing a set together! Terp is happy to make this great acoustic recording and release it, with the input of many. Andy Moor's great photos, Emma Fischer's artwork and Arnold de Boer's mixing and fixing in particular."

VELVET UNDERGROUND, THE White Light/White Heat LP
2018 repress; 2008 release. While 1967's Velvet Underground & Nico was a part of Andy Warhol's global artistic vision, 1968's White Light/White Heat was free of all Warholian influence, so in a way it could be thought of as another debut album. Here the music was left to fester on its own, with no artistic visionary interfering or trying to create a soundtrack for his pop art, and the Velvets filled that void with an album that is an aural subway car full of drunkards, junkies and whores rumbling through the bowels of NYC with a one way ticket to oblivion. HEAD & THE RED ELASTIC BAND, MICHAEL Adios Senor Pussycat LP
2018 repress; LP version. Michael Head (The Strands, Shack, The Pale Fountains) continues his Michael Head & The Red Elastic Band project with the beautiful and evocative Adiós Señor Pussycat, the first album of new material from Head since 2006. Recorded in his Head's hometown of Liverpool from March 2016 through June 2017, and the culmination of four years of hard work, Adiós Señor Pussycat is equal to Head's finest moments and further cements his reputation as one of his generation's greatest songwriters. Since beginning a self-imposed hiatus from music in 2008, Michael Head has been working with a fluid concept of an ever-rotating band to provide a flexible platform for the range of his live and recorded works. He unveiled Michael Head & The Red Elastic Band in 2013 with the Artorius Revisited EP, and followed this in 2015 with the Velvets In The Dark/Koala Bears 7". Fate, bad luck, and circumstance have often conspired to deny Head his rightful dues. A soulful and poetic genius, he has been loved and lauded by fellow artists and critics alike, after starting out in the early 1980s with The Pale Fountains, with whom he recorded a brace of acclaimed albums (Pacific Street (1984) and ...From Across The Kitchen Table (1985)). He subsequently formed Shack with his brother John and went on to record five albums over almost 20 years, including the much-loved and acclaimed Waterpistol (1995) and H.M.S. Fable (1999) (for which the NME hailed Head as "our greatest songwriter"), while 1997 saw the release of what is widely regarded as his classic work, The Magical World of The Strands (MEGAUK 024CD/LP). Adiós Señor Pussycat, produced by Steve Powell and Michael Head, features the following musicians: Michael Head, vocals and acoustic guitar; Steve Powell, electric and acoustic guitars; Phil Murphy, drums; Tom Powell, bass guitar; Nina, piano; Dan Rogers, electric guitar; Rod Skipp, cello; Dewi Tudor Jones, violin; Helen Tonge, viola; Martin Smith, trumpet; Andy Diagram, trumpet; Simon James, saxophone; Steve Powell, Joanne Head, Phil Murphy, and Mary McCombs, backing vocals; and Michael Head, Phil Murphy, and Karina Townsend, percussion.

FM BELFAST Island Broadcast LP
Island Broadcast is the fourth LP from FM Belfast. Broadcasting from their home on a remote island, you can sense that the tracks are personal. The album has 11 tracks, 11 intimate stories to dance to. It's like you've been invited to a Cabin Fever Dance Party in their living room. The lyrics are about bliss, euphoria, trying to be a human in this strange world, friendship, of loss and growing up. The first song of the album "All My Power" deals with guilt. There are two characters in the song. One is a blamer while the other one is being blamed. "Follow Me" song is about a person who is no longer blind to the world around her. It's about taking responsibility for your choices. Being kind is not the same as being naive. "Enjoy" is about not watching the world go by without having a good time. The night is the best time for procrastination, you can hide in the dark and nobody can see you waste your life. "Up All Night" captures this feeling. Like many songs on the album, "Agent" is about holding your head above water in this strange world. It's easy to get blindsided and lost, but who's going to speak up for the weak if you don't do it. The lyrics for "You're So Pretty" originally come from a short story written by Lóa. They are about getting old without maturing. The song is about being restless and broke. "Streamers" is a quiet love-story about having found the person you want to sit next to for the rest of your life and watch crappy TV together. "Leave A Mark" is a personal reminder to do something about the life you are given and not waste time; Even if things are not great today, there is always tomorrow. It doesn't have to be important, it could just be writing your name on a wall. "Fearless Youth" is a nostalgic song about being a fearless adolescent and the friends you used to have. The lyrics are written by Örvar who's also a founding member of MúM. "Strobe" is an atmospheric track. It's made for people who want to dance in a euphoric bliss. "The Game" tells you to resist the power of bad people and bad governments. There's a big game being played and you don't need to participate, you can resist.
