cex "just dont bite it" (1:03)What a brilliant concept ... take a mess of classic pioneering gangsta rap tunes, feed them through the filters of some of the hippest/unknown laptop loonies around and put the results on a cute little 3" cd. Nearly all of the Tigerbeat6 roster chip in to thoroughly cut up, process, mangle and add to short doses of NWA (Niggas With Attitude) source material to great effect. Kid606 slices and dices "Straight Outta Compton" into a collection of processed beats and Ice Cube-isms. Team Doyobi recreate "Fuck Tha Police" with Atari era digitized lyrics, vocal samples and an all new all digital backing. Hrvatski's "SUCKA" pays tribute to Dr. Dre by chanting his moniker over a mess of hyper-techno trash. Electric Company's 1 minute take on "Express Yourself" playfully adds noise and samples to the original's funky sample loop. Din s.t., Pure, DAT Politics, Pisstank and Pimmon subject us to noise filled collages where only miniscule fragments of recognizable NWA pop up. Lesser for the most part leaves Eazy-E's vocals unaltered on "Fat Girl on My Jock" but adds an all new human beat box foundation. Matmos pieces together short vocal samples to humorously speak out "you ... black ... motherfucker!" among other things. And Cex brings the 22 minutes to a close by dropping some heavy duty beats and a hacked up sample reminder of what NWA stands for just in case you forgot. "Attitude" is a lot of fun start to finish and will certainly scare the hell out of your rap hating friends ...
