Overall impression: disappointing. I was really expecting more from this cd, not necessarily something like Skinny Puppy or Download, but something that's at least on par quality-wise. This album sounds like unfinished tracks or rejects from Plateau and Download sessions. Several tracks are ridiculously monotonous and Key has used many of the same sounds on various projects too many times. Perhaps some of this stuff is better off left in the vaults, or developed further. There are several promising tracks on this cd, like "Bird" (somewhat early 90's Coil-like), "Inside Jam World" (nice GPO/Download craziness) and "Grah Statikcat (Electrodes), but none of them in my opinion would hold up on any Download album. All are very experimental in nature, even so for cEvin Key, but they just don't capture the 'magic' that Download's songs do. This is probably the first out of 40+ cds Key has been involved with that I was disappointed with, an otherwise excellent track record.
