Overall impression: good. Deutsche Krieger is another of Ammer/Einheit's musical operas, this time they've decided to compress the last 70 years of German history and radio into one 66 minute cd. Like the other Ammer/Einheit collaborations, this disc combines miscellaneous bleeps, blurps, beats and ambience with recordings of the voices of famous figures from German history: Kaiser Wilhelm, Adolf Hitler and Ulrike Meinhoff and snippets of German music such as Kraftwerk and classical pieces. I can't understand a single word of it, but it's fascinating. For a much more detailed explanation, go to this page at Invisible Records. Not a disc I'll listen to frequently, but I'll definitely give it a spin every now and then.
