Overall impression: excellent! This is the third album from Hepcat, and the best in my opinion. If you're looking for some real ska, as opposed to the shitty pop-ska that's infiltrated the mainstream recently, you need to check out Hepcat. These guys sound like they're straight out of the '50's Jamaican ska scene. The sound is really solid, especially due to the 3 vocalists and 3 piece horn section. The music is vibrant, jazzy and soulful ... the real deal. I read an interview with Greg awhile back that said "ska is jazz players doing soul songs with Caribbean rhythms" ... I agree. Hepcat is one of those bands that's even better live. If they swing by your area, make sure and check 'em out. Forget No Doubt and SmashMouth, go get "Right on Time". Highly recommended, one of my top 5 albums of '97 ...
