Overall impression: very good. This 12" is the first single from "Pistel", the self-titled debut album by Mark Pistel of Consolidated, the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy and Meat Beat Manifesto. Joining in on all remixes is Jon Drukman of Bass Kittens, another one of the Bay area's beat enthusiasts along with Pistel and Meat Beat. The 2 songs:  "Millennium" is a laid back, dubby groove track with the occasional "end of the millenium time has come. listen to the rhythm of the bass and drum" vocals whereas "Temporal Fusion" is a more uptempo dancefloor sort of track. Side A:  the Hard Step EDC Mix is harder edged with lots of extra percussion fills and bleeps, the vocal loop is used every now and then and the mix is extended about another minute. The Dub mix is a more bass heavy, instrumental dub version (duh). Side B: the EDC Club Mix is just that, an up tempo dance floor version, heavy with a fairly fast beat, "ughh" female vocal and "how do we activate?" samples and extra bleeps aplenty. The Bass Kittens mix is heavy, this one adds another set of balls to the original with heavy pulsating synth lines and bass throbs. These last two are definitely meant for the clubs, if these don't make you get jiggy wit it, you'd better check your pulse. A great 12", and a must if you enjoyed the album ...
