Overall impression: excellent. This disc comes with an insert that says "set machine for random play, send suggested playlists to:" and I agree, this works great on random. As you can see, most of the tracks are short snippets ranging from harsh percussion/toy/horn sound loops to quiet ambient pads/loops/etc. No words, just Spybey and his sound devices. This would probably be the most experimental disc of the DVOA/Mark Spybey collaborations that I own (which is most), but it reminds me quite a bit of DVOA's "Shap". The multiple short tracks will probably annoy many people, but I like them ... the cd never really gets into a rut, it's continually moving on to new loops and sounds. Very interesting packaging for this one too (much like the :Spybey:Theriault: disc) liver of sulphate and urine soaked (on some, who knows if you'll be the lucky one? mine doesn't smell like urine at least) copper with a handwrapped jute string wrapped around it. Another must for the serious Spybey or experimental sound sculpture fan.
