Censor - Guru remix (The Gutter mix) (4:44)
Chainsaw - Josh Wink remix (9:40)Overall impression: Ughh ... this sucks. Please quit fucking with Puppy, ok? There's just no reason to remix or cover these songs ... the life has been systematically sucked out of most of these versions. I'm not going to bother going into too much detail here, I'd split the tracks up into 3 categories:
the good: Rodent, Killing Game, Love in Vein
the bad: Addiction, Worlock, Censor, Assimilate
the ugly: Smothered Hope, Spasmolytic, Tin Omen, Testure, Dig It, ChainsawThe only remix that adds something significantly better/interesting to the original is Marshall's "Rodent". There's a couple other nice tracks, like Neotropic's "Love in Vein" and Ae's "Killing Game", but both have so little in common with the originals that they may as well be the remix artist's tracks. Sherwood's remix is a huge letdown (I envision a cheerleading squad doing the "Ohio!" parts) and I guess the Ogre/Walk remixes are supposed to be a joke ... but I'm not laughing. Although not as hideous overall as the "Hymns of the Warlock" tribute abortion Cleopatra put out earlier this year, this one isn't all that far behind. I'll just stick to the original Puppy albums, thank you ...
