Overall impression: very good. This double cd set takes awhile to soak in thoroughly, but that's not much of a problem when the 141+ minutes is as aurally pleasing as this. The album is split into 2 parts, disc A "Nuclear" is the more beat-y stuff whereas disc B "Abyss" is the more ambient and noise-y stuff. If you are already familiar with the previous album "Sangre Azul", then you have an idea of what to expect on this one. Ambient textures and layers, samples, miscellaneous noises and sounds, building beats, booming bass ... an electronic soup that's pleasing to the ears. Many of the songs build up over time, but it's always interesting to listen to as the beats/sounds morph throughout the tracks. You may have seen Not Breathing do their criminally short set on the recent Invisible Records "Lowest of the Low" tour, but trust me, those 10-20 minute sets don't do D. Wright and co.'s music much justice. Check out this single disc priced 2cd set to find out for yourself. Also, the artwork by Dave Wright and Joshua Seaver is excellent, another A+ packaging job by Invisible.
