I'll copy a bit from my review of the live followup cd "Whine" to describe "Zander": Overall impression: very nice. Perhaps a good cd to listen to while checking email, reading, etc. I wont bother with a track by track listing, the tracks are all pretty much the same in terms of describing them: slow, fat, methodical and repetitive hip-hop tinged beats backed with low, throbbing bass lines and atmospherics. Tracks 1,2,3,5,8 and 9 can also be found on "Whine" in their live incarnations. I think I prefer the clarity of the studio versions on Zander. Some have complained that Zander and/or Whine are a bit difficult to listen to in one sitting due to the repetitive nature of the music, but I find it quite relaxing.
