PABLO, AUGUSTUS Born To Dub You LP
"VP's archival imprint 17 North Parade goes esoteric with this Augustus Pablo set, a strange collection of odds and ends from the vaults of reggae producer Gussie Clarke. The title track comes from a single, 'Classical Illusion' and 'No Entry' are made available in their extended 12" mixes, and the two versions of 'Skylarking' are previously unreleased. This is well worth any dub collector's attention." --David Jeffries, AllMusic

BROWN, DENNIS Milk And Honey LP
"The partnership of Dennis Brown and Errol 'Flabba' Holt continues to pay rich dividends, for of all the producers the singer worked with across the '90s, arguably Holt was the most sympathetic. Blood Brothers, where Brown joined forces with Gregory Isaacs, was very good indeed, but Holt still had to cater to the latter man's style as well; here he can lavish his attention on Brown alone. The results are awe-inspiring. Backed by Holt's Roots Radics, and with a guest appearance by bassist Leroy Sibbles and drummer Sly Dunbar, the album is driven by modern digitized beats, but boasts the Radics at their richest. The group plunder the Jamaican songbook for old rhythms, reaching back into the past to root out old roots numbers, disinter the beautiful melodies of the rocksteady era, and even cross the Caribbean to plunder the American pop chart." --AllMusic

KING, B.B. 3 O'clock Blues: The Early Years 1951-62 LP
Delayed... "B.B. King, the 'King Of The Blues' is an undisputed music icon. In a career spanning seven decades, he sold in excess of 50 million records, won 20 Grammy Awards, and played alongside artists such as Bono, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, and Stevie Wonder. A hard-working musician, King toured the world several times over, taking his extraordinary blues from the margins to the mainstream. His emotional and sophisticated soloing on his Gibson guitar, 'Lucille,' coupled with his subtle vibrato style, influenced a diverse range of artists, including, Keith Richards, Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Richie Sambora, and even 50 Cent. This fine collection brings together some of King's greatest early blues numbers. From his first hit single, 'Three O'Clock Blues,' timeless tracks such as 'Woke Up This Morning' and 'Everyday I Have The Blues,' the epic double sider 'Sweet Sixteen' finishing with his early sixties classics, 'Someday' and 'Peace Of Mind.' King was a pioneer from the very beginning, with this collection demonstrating just why the British blues bands of the late sixties revered him as a guitar god. King was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall Of Fame in 1984, the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame in 1987, received the National Academy of the Recording Arts and Sciences Lifetime Achievement Award and awarded the Presidential Medal of the Arts in 1990. In 2006 he received the Medal of Freedom, America's highest civilian honor."

VACCINA & MAI MAI MAI, LINO CAPRA I Racconti di Aretusa LP
Baccano is the new record label born within Luiss University Press, the publishing house of the renowned university institution, always dedicated to exploring new pathways in knowledge and culture. Conceived by Daniele Rosa, editorial director of the publishing house, and artistically curated by Toni Cutrone (aka Mai Mai Mai), one of Italy's most internationally acclaimed avant-garde musicians, Baccano supports Italian artists who work with sound as a space for exploration and renewal. Each year, the label aims to produce three collaborative projects, bringing together musicians from different backgrounds, locations, and generations who can meet on common ground, intertwining their artistic sensibilities to shape new sounds. The result of this process materializes in three albums released both in physical and digital formats. The label seeks to amplify and transform the Italian musical heritage, opening it up to new expressive trajectories. Baccano draws inspiration from both sonic avant-gardes and library music as well as the most archaic and popular forms of Italian music, with the goal of forging new connections between past and present. I Racconti di Aretusa is the result of the encounter between Lino Capra Vaccina, a legend of Italian minimalism, and Mai Mai Mai, the alias of Toni Cutrone, a key international figure in the avant-garde/drone scene. A work that weaves together experimentation and Mediterranean echoes, creating a sonic journey of rare intensity. The collaboration was born during an artistic residency for the Ortigia Sound System (Syracuse, Sicily), a festival dedicated to the dialogue between traditional sounds and electronic research. The project took shape in an evocative location: the Church of Ges? e Maria in Ortigia, a place of extraordinary beauty whose acoustics imparted an almost mystical depth to the creative process. For two weeks, the two artists composed and recorded the album within this sacred setting, allowing the environment itself to influence the sounds and amplify their spiritual dimension. The final result was then refined by the work of Rabih Beaini, who handled the mixing at Morphine Raum Studio, and Matt Bordin, responsible for the mastering at Outside Inside Studio. Lino Capra Vaccina, a pioneer of sound experimentation and co-founder of historic formations such as Aktuala and Telaio Magnetico, brought to the project a refined and meditative musical sensibility. His use of vibraphone and piano creates hypnotic and ethereal atmospheres, built on deep resonances and soundscapes suspended in time. I Racconti di Aretusa perfectly embodies Baccano's vision: to restore a dimension of research to sound, fostering dialogue between artists from different eras and languages in a work that is not merely an encounter between past and present, but a true act of sonic rewriting.

ANTICO & GO DUGONG, ALFIO La Macchia LP
This new chapter of Baccano intertwines the sonic roots of Southern Italy with contemporary musical languages, thanks to the collaboration between two artists who, despite coming from different backgrounds, share an intense exploration of traditional rhythms. Alfio Antico, the undisputed master of the tammorra and frame drum, has radically transformed the use of these instruments, enriching them with unprecedented timbres and a unique phrasing that amplifies their expressive power. Alongside him, Giulio Fonseca, alias Go Dugong, a producer born in Puglia and based in Milan, is known for his ability to reinterpret folk music through an aesthetic that blends electronics and psychedelia, presenting it from a new sonic perspective. The album takes shape from the studio encounter between the two artists, a musical dialogue built on improvisation and the desire to explore the rhythmic potential of their visions. Leading the technical process was Tommaso Colliva (Calibro 35), who skillfully enhanced the primordial resonance of the drum while balancing the interplay of electronic layers in the final mix and mastering. During the production, Giulio Fonseca found inspiration in an independent fanzine created by Ciro Fanelli and Nicola Fucili. The title, La Macchia (The Stain), encapsulates a powerful image, evoked by Fanelli's words: "There is the stain that is guilt, dishonor, and shame. Then there is the stain that soils a new dress. We are not interested in either. Here, we talk about the stain that is life, entanglement, earth, scent, death, and rebirth." This reflection is perfectly mirrored in the album's music. Alfio Antico's drum becomes the voice of the earth, of primordial rhythm, of memory. Go Dugong's electronic overdubs, far from being mere contamination, act as material layering: they neither cover nor distort but rather enhance and reveal new depths. It is a "sonic stain" that does not erase but imprints, amplifying the ancestral and ritualistic essence of the music. The result is not just a remix of tradition but a work where the archaic heartbeat of the drum merges with contemporary experimentation in a synthesis as powerful as it is visceral. La Macchia is the meeting point between past and future, an album that does not merely reinterpret folk music but expands and rewrites it, preserving its soul while pushing it toward uncharted territories.

VIOLENZA & IRTUMBRANDA + TROPICANTESIMO, MARIA Maria Violenza & Irtumbranda + Tropicantesimo LP
This album bridges past and present through the voice and instruments of Maria Violenza and Luciano Turella, with the Irtumbranda project (formerly performing as the duo BrandaMaria), offering an intimate and visceral reinterpretation of Sicilian musical tradition. On Side A, the island's ancient melodies come to life through an interpretation that enhances their raw and profoundly visceral character. Maria Violenza, who grew up listening to these songs in family gatherings and popular festivals in Palermo, revives them with an intensity that is both personal and collective -- private memory and shared heritage. Alongside her, Irtumbranda's viola, with its classical training, transforms these chants into evocative sonic narratives, amplifying their pathos and revealing unexpected nuances. The result is a work that does not merely reproduce tradition but rewrites it, weaving a dialogue between popular oral tradition and cultivated instrumental sensitivity. On Side B, the baton passes to Tropicantesimo, a collective known for its ability to manipulate sound as a fluid and transformative material. Here, Sicilian music is transported into an unprecedented dimension, where voice and melodic textures dissolve and reassemble in dreamlike electronic landscapes. Through delays, reverbs, and synthetic pulsations, the chants seem to emerge from a timeless elsewhere, like echoes of a past becoming the future. Maria Violenza, along with Irtumbranda and Tropicantesimo, presents a sonic portrait of Sicily, a land that has always known how to make its roots converse with the outside world, embracing contaminations and constantly reinventing itself. As Rosa Balistreri, the great singer of the island, once taught, Sicilian folk music is a cry of protest, a collective game, a denunciation of the oppressed, and an anthem to love -- sentiments that transcend eras and borders, remaining eternally alive. With this work, Baccano reaffirms its mission to restore folk music with a contemporary breath, stripping it of nostalgia and bringing it into the present as a pulsating and unstoppable force.

VITIELLO WITH BRENDAN CANTY AND HAHN ROWE, STEPHEN Second LP
When you're running a label, a demo occasionally comes across your desk that makes you reconsider everything you thought your label was all about. For Balmat, such was the case with this stunning album from Stephen Vitiello, Brendan Canty, and Hahn Rowe. It sounds like nothing Balmat has released so far. Fans of ambient, experimental electronic music, and sound art will be familiar with Vitiello, a New York native, long based in Virginia, who has collaborated with a cross-generational list of greats: Taylor Deupree, Steve Roden, Lawrence English, Tetsu Inoue, Nam June Paik, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Pauline Oliveros, and many more. This album is something different. It may begin in ambient-adjacent territory, but it quickly veers off, and it just keeps zigzagging, taking on elements of krautrock, post-punk, dub, and the groove-heavy interplay of groups like Natural Information Society and 75 Dollar Bill. This stylistic turn is thanks in large part to Vitiello's choice of collaborators. Active since the early 1980s, Rowe -- a violinist, guitarist, and producer/engineer -- has played with, or manned the boards for, a frankly jaw-dropping list of musicians: Herbie Hancock, Gil Scott-Heron, the Last Poets, Roy Ayers, John Zorn, Glenn Branca, Swans, Live Skull, Brian Eno, David Byrne, Anohni, R.E.M., Yoko Ono, and many more. Canty, of course, is the legendary drummer of Fugazi, the visionary DC post-hardcore group, as well as Rites of Spring before them, and, currently, the Messthetics, a Dischord-signed instrumental trio with guitarist Anthony Pirog and Fugazi bassist Joe Lally. Second took shape in phases, shifting between improvisation and collage. Vitiello laid down the skeleton of the music at home, sketching out initial ideas on Rhodes keyboard and acoustic and electric guitar; he then fed the parts through samplers and his modular system, recording 10- or 20-minute jams. Once he had edited them into more structured forms, he hit the studio with Canty, who added not just drums but also bass and piano; finally, Vitiello took the results of those sessions to Rowe, who played violin, viola, electric bass, and 12-string acoustic and bowed electric guitar, and assisted in some of the final structuring and mixdown. A few more surprises along the way: Reanimator's Don Godwin, the studio engineer where Vitiello recorded with Canty, contributed what he calls "resonant dustpan;" and none other than Animal Collective's Geologist, who just happened to be in the studio that day, sits in on hurdy gurdy. An unexpected gift is a great way of describing Second as a whole: three veteran musicians venturing outside their usual zones and finding a new collaborative language together.

OUZO BAZOOKA Kapaim LP
Ouzo Bazooka enchant on Kapaim, drawing listeners through a maze of hypnotic, head-snapping grooves, cosmic string bending, and swirling guitar explorations. As trailblazers of the new Middle Eastern psychedelia movement, the band fuse traditional folk sounds with gritty soul, funk, and rock. Their latest release is a testament to their boundary-pushing spirit, offering a soundscape that is both otherworldly and deeply rooted. Across five albums and a decade, Ouzo Bazooka has achieved international recognition for their music and performances, from the UK all the way to Japan, including The Great Escape, Fuji Rock, and Sziget Festivals. Core member and multi-instrumentalist Uri Brauner Kinrot -- musician, composer, and producer -- has been active in the international music scene for over two decades. He has played in acclaimed and diverse groups such as Balkan Beat Box, Firewater, Shotnez, and Boom Pam, who also collaborated with Anatolian rock legend Selda Ba?can, and recorded frequently with Kutiman. Launched as a solo project, Ouzo Bazooka quickly morphed into a full-fledged group. However, Kapaim (Hebrew for "palms") sees Kinrot refining the Ouzo Bazooka sound back into a largely solo endeavor. With more space to experiment, the mostly instrumental album is beautifully arranged and given room to breathe. The bass grooves, wonky synth motifs, head-nodding percussion, and soaring guitar solos create a hypnotic and uplifting experience. The title track, "Kapaim," urges listeners to clap along to a groove as solid as steel, fusing the legendary New Orleans instrumental funk of The Meters with snake-charming synths and cosmic Anatolian guitar licks. An otherworldly intro gives way to a tight bass-and-funk groove reminiscent of Bob James' heavily sampled "Nautilus" on "Seed," before Kinrot makes a rare vocal appearance, imagining himself as a seed at the center of the universe. Having played a key role in the global instrumental movement, Kinrot stands among peers such as JJ Whitefield, Shawn Lee, and Kutiman. The album recalls the cinematic depth of David Axelrod but with a distinctive Middle Eastern/ Mediterranean touch. Fans of Glass Beams, Derya Y?ld?r?m, LA LOM, and hip-hop producer Oh No's sample-heavy tour of Turkish, Lebanese and Greek psych, Dr. No's Oxperiment, will find much to love. A testament to Kinrot's incredible talent, Kapaim carries a deep emotional resonance. It is Ouzo Bazooka's most personal and addictive album to date, radiating joy, creativity, and a spirit of boundless freedom.

RUSSELL, ARTHUR In The Light Of The Miracle: Remixes 12"
2025 repress. The very first commercial release of two legendary remixes of Arthur Russell's In The Light Of The Miracle. Both are widely regarded as transcendent masterpieces and very much befitting of the title "holy grails." At last, these jaw-dropping mixes are widely available to every Arthur fan in the world. This is musical perfection. The deep Loft classic "In The Light Of The Miracle" remained unreleased during Arthur's lifetime, finally discovered when Phillip Glass included the original version on Another Thought on Point Music in 1993. The story goes that Gilles Peterson heard the remixes on a visit to the Point Music offices and wanted to release them on Talkin' Loud. These remixes both extend and undeniably enhance the original, elevating it to new heights. The 13-minute remix on the A-side is by Danny Krivit and Tony Smith with editing duties performed by Tony Morgan. The "Ponytail Club Mix (Part 1 & 2)," produced by Tony Morgan in the mid-'90s, is in a more up-tempo style, with vocals higher in the mix, the BPM upped to 120 and the addition of a housey 4/4 kick drum. A 14-minute epic, you could say this is a more straight ahead "club-friendly" mix. It also has some really interesting vocal parts not used in the other versions, including some vocals from guest poet Allen Ginsberg. These remixes are part of the same original project that also produced the Another Thought album so it seems only right that they have a sleeve that matches. Simon Francis remastered the original audio for both tracks and Cicely Balston's precise cut for Alchemy at AIR Studios ensures this 12" well and truly slaps. The immaculate Record Industry pressing will ensure this incredibly sought-after treasure finds a home in many more collections, this and every year.

RHYTHM MAKERS Soul On Your Side LP
2025 repress. Reissue, originally released in 1976. The Rhythm Makers' Soul On Your Side is flawless proto-disco funk. The Bronx-based band -- that later went on to form heavyweight disco outfit GQ -- originally released this treasure in 1976 and it's long been a hard-to-find record. It's also rare to find a record this hard. Captivating funk at its rawest, no doubt. Storming out the gate with the rollicking Loft/Garage staple "Can You Feel It (Part 1)", the listener is immediately put on notice that this LP is just a little bit special. The title track, "Soul On Your Side", is a classic dancer and the basis of GQ's future hit "Disco Nights". But it's perhaps "Zone", a huge Baldelli track, that the record is best known for. Hypnotic psyched-out cosmic-disco/cosmic funk, it's an unrelenting groove that really thrusts the party into hyperdrive. With doses of scintillating Latin and pulsating African rhythms driving the pumping tune, atop an unstoppable bassline and imaginative, soul-slathered keyboard figures, it's basically a full-on funk assault. You might need a lie-down after this. But there's no let-up on the B-side, immediately grooving thanks to "Funk-N-You", a laidback glider that just rolls in the sleek style. Gorgeous harmony skills are displayed on "Street Dreamin'". Beautiful and gritty funk, by turns. "You're My Last Girl" is an airy ballad with two leads before the legendary "Monterey" enters the fray. A much-sampled instrumental and heavy disco-funk nugget, it contains an amazing B-Boy drum break making the whole LP worth the price of admission. "Can You Feel It (Part 2)" closes out this spectacular set. The Rhythm Makers had been gigging around New York City since the late '60s, having initially come together as Sabu and the Survivors, named after bassist Keith "Sabu" Crier. They eventually -- for this album at least! -- settled on The Rhythm Makers and cut one record for the small De-Lite subsidiary Vigor. The core lineup featured Crier, keyboardist Herb Lane, drummer Kenny Banks, and rhythm guitarist Rahiem Leblanc. Mastered for vinyl by Simon Francis, cut by Cicely Balston for Alchemy at AIR Studios with artwork restored at Be With Records.

CERRONE Supernature (Cerrone III) (The Official 2014 Edition) LP+CD
2025 repress. Because Music reissues on LP (with bonus CD format added) the 1977 album Supernature by French disco legend Marc Cerrone. Big hits can be the result of a combination of circumstances. Massively popular at the time, crowned with the success of Love in C Minor and Cerrone's Paradise that made him a disco hero of the '70s, the musician started working on his new album differently. This time, the inspiration came from a synthesizer, an instrument he never used before. ARP, an American manufacturer, provided him with it. "I was given this machine and didn't know how to use it," he remembers. "I twiddled a few knobs, trying to get some sounds out of it. Then, as I was playing on the keyboard, a bass line came to me that I immediately recorded on my Revox. It was 'Supernature!'" Lene Lovich, future queen of the punk and new wave English scene, wrote the lyrics. It was a science fiction story, similar in spirit to The Planet of the Apes. Once the track and album were finished, Cerrone asked the record company to focus on "Supernature," rather than the rest of the record, in the vein of his previous work. History would prove him right. This track, the more iconic of his catalog, would turn out to be his biggest hit. This third album (also called Supernature) would also sell eight million copies. Always a funny guy, Cerrone can be seen on the cover of the record, but without naked women. Creatures with animal-heads in a surgery room replaced them. It meant a mutant and more synthetic kind of disco was born. Pressed on pale green vinyl + CD. Includes a 4-page booklet with a 30cm x 30cm poster-booklet with photos and biographic notes.

HARPER, BILLY Black Saint LP
Billy Harper is one of the great tenor saxophonists in the post-Coltrane mold. Originally from Houston, TX and with a degree from the venerable University of North Texas College of Music, Harper emerged on the New York City jazz scene in the late 1960s performing with Art Blakey, Max Roach, Lee Morgan, and others. Known for his soulful and propulsive tone, Harper was already a highly regarded and prolific session man before the release of his debut album as a leader on the cult favorite Strata-East label in 1973. Recorded in 1975, Black Saint was the second album for Billy Harper as bandleader and is the most acclaimed and fully realized of his long career. The inaugural release of the Italian label Black Saint -- to which the album lent its name -- is comprised entirely of Harper compositions; the peaceful and subdued opener "Dance, Eternal Spirits, Dance!," the swinging and fiery "Croquet Ballet" and the side-long epic "Call Of The Wild And Peaceful Heart." Harper's group features trumpeter Virgil Jones -- a graduate of Roland Kirk's mid-'60s groups and session player for McCoy Tyner, Charles Tolliver and others -- along with Joe Bonner on piano, David Friesen on bass and Malcom Pinson on drums.

"Long after our voices fade, minerals will persist in the darkness of screens, in the silicon of chips, and in their pure form, still unexploited underground. Over the millennia, this intelligence might piece together fragments of our reasoning, as if an alien civilization finally connected with one of our spacecrafts loaded with messages cast into the void. It would sort through endless streams of data, unable to grasp the depths of emotion behind what it quantified, recreating simulations of our past, stripped of the nuance that once defined us and conducting experiments in sandboxes. Some remnants of our existence -- faint echoes of forgotten beauty -- would be pieced together in an atlas of loss, buried beneath layers of numbers, decayed bots, and corroded hard drives. What will follow? Perhaps bison will once again roam -- trotting to the strange pulse of techno, their ancient forms framed by the ruins of our cities. Buildings will crumble, slowly dissolving under the soft touch of ambient music, and a thousand flowers will bloom with that ancient music created through electrical signals and computation. Seven songs for a future both improbable and inevitable -- a final message from a world lost to itself, from planet Earth to planet Earth." Alfons Pich, 2025. CAVALERA/SHANE EMBURY, IGGOR Neon Gods/Own Your Darkness CD
Two legendary titans of the extreme metal scene -- Iggor Cavalera (Sepultura/Petbrick) and Shane Embury (Napalm Death/Dark Sky Burial) -- join forces for this unique split of brooding dark ambient, industrial strength noise, and heavy synth-laden electronics, creating what feels like the lost soundtrack to some dystopian fever dream. Setting the tone for this double-headed behemoth with creeping, cinematic dark ambience, Iggor Cavalera's side-long "Neon Gods" unfolds into a brutal sonic nightmare. Equal measures of dread and anguish come together with the occasional reprieve of slow, pulsating drones and almost meditative waves of static. The crescendo of harsh industrial noise with heavy death industrial vocalization is nothing short of pummeling. "Neon Gods" is a bit of a sonic trip, with different layers of atmospheric vibrations, from darkness to light. Shane Embury's "Own Your Darkness" merges menacing, pitch-black dark ambient and hypnotic bass swells with celestial synth lines that subtly lurk around the peripheries. Rising and falling, ebbing and flowing -- until finally the all-encompassing apocalyptic bleakness, the enveloping darkness, closes in around you.

VA ANS Electronic Music CD
Available for the first time outside USSR, Soviet composers perform their works on the legendary ANS synthesizer. Recorded in 1969, ??????????? ?????? ??? (ANS Electronic Music) features six tracks of experiments on the unique machine by: Eduard Artemiev, Stanislav Kreitchi, S?ndor Kall?s, and Alexander Nemtin. A "musical" machine unlike any other with a long-fascinated cutting edge, modern electronic composers, notably Coil and The Anti Group Communications (TAGC)/Clock DVA, that have both released recordings utilizing the ANS. Try to imagine a score sounding by itself without a conductor; an orchestra without musical instruments. This magic is possible by using the musical ANS synthesizer. Created by Soviet scientist Evgeny Murzin over the course of 20 years, ANS is an instrument with which a composer can not only create but also draw their music without notes. You can see the twinkling of different lamps, the rotation of grooved glass discs, etc. The drawings on the glass are "sounding notes." To listen to the drawn picture, press the button and a wonderful transformation will begin. Inside the ANS are five rotating glass discs with 144 tones printed (by hand) on each one. Light is projected through the discs and onto photovoltaic cellbank which converts the light into electricity and sends signals to the ANS's amplifiers and bandpass filters. The ANS can generate 720 tones this way and, unlike a human musician, play them all at the same time. Murzin dedicated his photoelectronic apparatus to Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin, hence the name ANS. Scriabin, the creator of the "Poem of Ecstasy," and a famous explorer of synesthesia, used in his works a highly chromatic, new type of harmonic style designed to express his beliefs, views and wishes. Soviet music lovers will already know recordings made on ANS from Tarkovsky's films Solaris, The Mirror, and Stalker, Konchalovsky's film Siberiade, and others. Presented in a digipak with the new artwork by Abby Helasdottir, complimenting the ANS process perfectly. Officially licensed from Russian state label Melodiya.

SATORI Pillars Of Salt CD
Sat?ri's mission to document the stupidity of the species continues with Pillars of Salt -- a journey through grinding rhythms, dystopian soundscapes and a fascination into what lies beneath the surface. Formed in the mid-'80s, with previous releases on high-caliber labels such as Broken Flag, Cold Spring, Trident, Mindscan, and Tesco Organisation, Sat?ri's sound comprises a mixture of harsh industrial noise and power electronics with harder and heavier percussive beats than before. Their material provides a constant pervasive undercurrent of violence, the feeling of a planet on the verge of collapse and a reflection of the lack of humanity embedded in a culture based on greed and self-preservation. Featuring guest vocalist Lorenzo Abattoir, the album was produced by Andy Swan (Khost, Final, Iroha, Tactical Pagan). CD in matt-laminate digipak.

COLOSSLOTH The Harmony Knife CD
The fifth album from industrial/esoteric electronic alchemist Colossloth is a concept album based on the writings of professor Ted Kaczynski AKA the Unabomber. It is not about his terror campaign against the industrial society and the rise of technology -- but his manifesto "Industrial Society And Its Future" and in particular the elements of "The Power Process." With The Harmony Knife, Colossloth is cutting through to the bone and sinew of Man's chronic, species-specific dissatisfaction, and the causes thereof. He is laying bare humankind's inability to solve its own, self-created problems, to meet its basic needs, and to achieve even those goals clearly within its reach. What is the fundamental nature of the human condition? Is it one of misery and failure in the face of blissful possibility? Is it the contrary unwillingness to accept that we can become fully realized and contented beings through the success of actualized, idiosyncratic, and often basic goals? In defining and describing The Power Process, the twisted mind of Ted Kaczynski saw mankind's primal need to struggle for a goal, however small, as necessary for a meaningful life. Indeed, without this elemental piece of the evolutionary struggle, he saw terminal atrophy as the inevitable result. With The Harmony Knife, Colossloth seizes these ideas and sonically extrapolates the implications of humankind's failure to satisfy even its most rudimentary needs. He creates an auditory landscape examining humanity's repeated inability to focus its efforts on fundamental goals to ensure even a measure of happiness or contentment. Humanity's inability to live rather than merely exist.

LITTLE ANNIE With CD
This collection features the cream of Little Annie's collaborations with some of the greatest names in the "alternative" music world: Marc Almond (Soft Cell), COIL, Swans, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Baby Dee, Kid Congo Powers (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Gun Club, The Cramps), Paul Wallfisch (The Ministry Of Wolves, ex-Swans), and Larsen. A common atmosphere brings these tracks together; lamenting torch songs, esoteric electronics, melancholic pianos, avant-garde lounge -- a collection for dark, candle-lit corners of smoky cabaret bars and secret speakeasy clubs. Anne Bandez (known as Little Annie/Annie Anxiety), is a versatile American singer, painter, and performance artist renowned for her extensive collaborations across various music genres since the late 1970s. Her artistic journey has seen her work with a diverse array of avant-garde musicians, contributing significantly to the experimental music scene. Annie's career is a testament to her adaptability and innovative spirit, seamlessly blending music, visual arts, and literature to create a unique and enduring artistic legacy. Mastered by Martin Siewert (known for his incredible mastering for the likes of Hermann Nitsch, Thurston Moore, Lydia Lunch, Mika Vainio, Keiji Haino, and more). Cover paintings by Little Annie.

WARE, CHARLES STOOKE, GABRIEL WARE, MARTYN It's Always Ourselves We Find In The Sea CD
An experimental dive into aquatic and industrial rhythms, this is the original soundscape to the highly-successful, immersive installation It's Always Ourselves We Find In The Sea (premiere at The Saatchi Gallery) composed for 3D ambisonic sound by Martyn Ware (Heaven 17, B.E.F., Ex-The Human League), Charles Stooke, and Gabriel Ware. Produced by Illustrious (Martyn Ware and Vince Clark of Erasure), with environmental and immersive design by Oscar Blustin and Anna S?derblom, the installation invites visitors into a contemplative space; a quiet, peaceful temple to water, within which the soundscape exists. Listeners enter and explore the space in their own time, letting the sounds wash over them, experiencing the stories and musical motifs as they build and gather then subside like the tide. Taking a cue both from UNESCO's Ocean Literacy initiative and the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 14 -- Life Below Water -- It's Always Ourselves We Find In The Sea offers visitors an opportunity to consider their relationship with water, and to step back out into the world with an altered perspective on its value and cultural significance. The soundscape is a looping experience, divided into two parts: Part One -- "A Call To Water." This section explores the human relationship with anthropomorphised Water -- throughout the history of the species and all across the globe, humankind has petitioned the deities of the sky and the sea for the benediction of rain and for deliverance from natural disasters. Part Two -- "The Water Circle." Water is crucial for all life on earth to exist and thrive. In this part, listeners witness the storm's deluge on the land, water cascading in streams, then rivers and finally to the sea. The beauty and mystery of the oceans culminates in the process of evaporation and the creation of clouds, which continue the eternal cycle of water. CD presented in six-panel matt-laminate digipak.

OSTLER, ANDREW The Blind Sublime CD
Andrew Ostler continues his artistic evolution towards choral beauty, orchestral textures, ambient drones and low woodwind, into the realms of J?hann J?hannsson, Arvo P?rt, or Stars Of The Lid. Building on the string arrangements of his previous LP Dots On A Disk Of Snow, and taking a heavy dose of sax drone from an earlier album still, this record also adds a full choir, taking the music to another level of spiritual intensity. On the first three compositions the drones are, for the most part, relatively gentle, while chant-like choral arrangements drift and weave around and above them. "Affirmation" is quietly confident, with a surge of intensity around the midpoint; "Confession" is perhaps more tentative, the shifting canon of the voices threatened by a distant storm of distorted synth shredding; "Adoration" restores the straightforward choral beauty, building to an unashamed cadence. The immense final track "Meditation" is a quite different affair. Here the drones are more intense slabs, the choir is more demonstrative in its emotion, and the ultimate climax the more devastating for it. The journey is longer, but the rewards are greater for the committed. Originally released on Andrew Ostler's own Expert Sleepers label on limited edition blue vinyl, Cold Spring now press this gem onto CD for the first time.

SLEEP OF REASON PRODUCES MONSTERS, THE The Sleep Of Reason Produces Monsters CD
Corbett vs. Dempsey presents the release of the self-titled debut CD by the international quartet The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters. The highly democratic foursome works in the productive netherworld between genres, where genres go to die. Integrating noise, jazz, electronic music, and pure mania, The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters does not sit passively waiting for something to happen; in highly focused free improvisations, they take the proverbial bull by the horns with tempestuous throwdowns that have both a sense of abandon and an innate order. Danish saxophonist Mette Rasmussen singes the proceedings with bursts of alto while Anglo-Iranian turntablist Mariam Rezaei constructs a startling architecture with pioneering artistry. Italian piccolo trumpeter Gabriele Mitelli doubles on an array of electronics, and Austrian drummer Lukas K?nig propels everything with propane power. Who are the monsters that the mind produces in its dormant state? The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters ponders the question by means of sound and spontaneity, as Goya did with his incisive etchings. Like a defibrillator, they place paddles on the chest and give it a jolt, nine jolts in nine tracks, hoping to revive our moribund consciousness. Awaken the creative impulse, they urge us, or suffer the consequence.

TUTTI, COSEY FANNI 2t2 CD
Composed, performed and produced by Cosey Fanni Tutti, this nine-track album moves between propulsive beat constructions and expansive electronic explorations, continuing themes from 2019's acclaimed album TUTTI. It is a personal reflection; a sonic realization of her life, drawing on her powerful inner resolve and expressing it through music. The album finds Cosey making sense of some very tough years, dealing with personal bereavements alongside swinging world events. Centering on her own strength and self will, the album's two distinct parts -- one rhythmic, one more meditative -- are connected by an overwhelmingly positive mood. Even in the more melancholic moments, there's a lightness that she explains is an "acknowledgement that it's alright to be sad, that's part of life, but there is so much joy too in our memories of people we lose and in the moments we share with each other. Joy is our resistance." There are also threads from her most recent projects running through 2t2. Cosey's process and the different strands that make up her work form a totality of vision. She goes on to say, "Once you get creating and listening, weaving, collaging sound it's a wonderfully fulfilling feeling that takes you both out of yourself at the same time as essentially deep within." The artwork reflects this idea that the album is a "sound cameo," reflecting the light within the music, and the buzz of life that exists within all of Cosey's work. Musician, artist and author Cosey Fanni Tutti has continually challenged boundaries and conventions through her work. As a founding member of the hugely influential avant-garde band Throbbing Gristle, one half of electronic pioneers Chris and Cosey, and as an artist channeling her experience in pornographic modelling and striptease, her work on the margins has reshaped the mainstream.

Q LAZZARUS Goodbye Horses 12"
"At long last, Q Lazzarus says hello to Dark Entries. Q Lazzarus is the moniker of Diane Luckey, born in New Jersey in 1960. While living in the East Village in New York City in the 1980s, Diane met songwriter Bill Garvey at a party and they recorded 'Goodbye Horses' in his home studio. As the story goes, Luckey met Hollywood director Jonathan Demme when she picked him up in her taxi during a snowstorm in 1986. Demme was wowed by her demo tape, which was playing in the cab, and they ended up hanging out at a restaurant for hours talking about life and music. Demme would have the song 'Goodbye Horses' first appear in his offbeat comedy Married to the Mob, and then again more memorably in Silence of the Lambs when Buffalo Bill changes into women's clothing while drowning out his intended victim's pleas with loud music. Despite the exposure, both Luckey and Garvey languished in relative obscurity. 'Goodbye Horses' is the definition of a cult classic, an ethereal tearjerker driven by Garvey's lush synth work and Luckey's unmistakably powerful voice. Over 15 years of effort have gone into the making of this release. All five songs on this record were previously unreleased and are sourced from original master tapes. The extended version of 'Goodbye Horses' was newly mixed from the original stems by Alberto Hernandez at Fantasy Studios. Instrumental and acapella versions of the song are included, which are also available for the first time. Side B opens with 'Hellfire,' a brooding number about the New York BDSM nightclub of the same name, showcasing the range and force of Luckey's voice. 'Summertime' follows, with a sauntering synth-reggae spin on the 1937 George Gershwin number. Both B-side tracks are also new mixdowns and edits from the original stems. This record is released alongside Eva Aridjis Fuentes's documentary on Q Lazzarus, Goodbye Horses: The Many Lives of Q Lazzarus, a work chronicling the life of the enigmatic Luckey."

A towering figure in jazz history, John Coltrane reshaped the sound of the tenor sax much like Charlie Parker did for bebop -- his influence still echoes today. Ol? Coltrane, his ninth and final album for Atlantic, was recorded just two days after his first Impulse! session at Rudy Van Gelder's legendary studio. With his working quintet and guest players from Africa/Brass, including Art Davis and Freddie Hubbard, Coltrane delivered a hypnotic, Spanish-tinged masterpiece that bridged eras and labels, marking the dawn of his most exploratory phase.

FAHEY, JOHN How Bluegrass Music Destroyed My Life Book
2025 restock, originally published in 2000. "John Fahey is feared and revered around the world as a guitar player and composer. His inventions for acoustic and electric strings are the stuff of legend. Since he began recording in Maryland in the late 1950s, Mr. Fahey's access to the unknown tongue has been made manifest on over 30 albums, and his presence has unsettled audiences from here to Tasmania. He has served as a spiritual model for guitarists as disparate as Leo Kottke and Thurston Moore. He has been called a musical visionary by everyone from The New York Times to Ptolemaic Terrascope. John Fahey is a giant of 20th Century American Music. This is well known. It is perhaps less well-known that Fahey's pen has the same world-gobbling ferocity as his guitar. His early records included savagely hilarious liner notes, and other sightings of his clamorous writerly discourse have surfaced over the years. Now, finally, here is a collection that makes an explosive selection of his work available for general public consumption. What else can we possibly say, except, 'Grab your ankles, dear readers. It's kingdom time!'." -Byron Coley, 1999. Introduction by Jim O'Rouke. 291 pages, paperbound.

NELSON, KEANU Place Where I Go/Kapi Ngalyananni 7"
Luritja artist Keanu Nelson traces the afterglow of Wilurarrakutu with a two-track 7", cut from the same home-studio haze with producer Yuta Matsumura. The pair continue their singular weave of community-rooted storytelling and elemental electronics, shaped with the gear at hand. Hints of YouTube hip-hop and emotionally charged piano ripple through "Place Where I Go," a dubbed-out reflection on the daily realities of life in Papunya, Nelson's desert home. "Kapi Ngalyananni" finds Nelson singing in language, a mesmeric water song bridging the personal and ancestral, with elevating chords, clapsticks, and Matsumura's parched melodica lines. These remote dispatches carry a vital new voice from the heart of the desert, where tradition and sonic experimentation delicately converge.

KAMM Let The Light In LP
LA's Elbow Grease label takes a sharp left turn from dance floor-finessing singles to their first full-length release via the elusive yet illustrious band KAMM, who return in extra fine form for their third and presumably final album offering, following the sudden tragic death of core member Alland Byallo. Surviving bandmates Marc Barrite aka Dave Aju, Kenneth Scott, and Marc Smith chose the inspirational higher ground, finishing off what they had begun with Byallo prior to his passing, resulting in this sublime musical love letter of an LP. In keeping with the band's broad influence canon, listeners are treated to a blend of sonic flavors from across the genre spectrum with Barrite and Byallo's jazz upbringings ringing true at the center, then branching out through golden era hip-hop feels, phased-out psych funk, warm smokey soul, and of course generous helpings of intricate electronic layers and innovative treatments, as all band members have become notorious for in their respective solo bodies of work. While highly personal by nature, including otherworldly cover art based on Byallo's last paintings, the musical content contained on the album is also widely universal -- from opener "Crystalline Dreams" serpentine tones turned slo-mo funk bomb, to the triptych Bossa boom-bap of "No Deal", the timely political calls of uptempo jazz burner "Your Honor", the intimate upright-led tribute tales of "Angels Flight", to the sleek electro rhythm changes of mid-set breather "How Long?", a deeply felt take on peoples' mobile-reliant fate in "S.I.M.", the expansively expressive depth of "Coordinates", then closing it out with the title track featuring a grand finale chorus of Byallo's best friends and fam from around the world joining in the "Let The Light In" chant, with as much uplifting intention as possible to capture on record. A loving collective embrace and very welcome reminder to help lighten these darker days.

NATURAL INFORMATION SOCIETY Since Time Is Gravity 2LP
2025 restock. The next chapter of the Natural Information Society is here. Since Time Is Gravity, credited to Natural Information Society Community Ensemble with Ari Brown, presents a newly expanded manifestation of acclaimed composer & multi-instrumentalist Joshua Abrams nearly 15 year, 7 albums- &-counting flagship ensemble. Joining the core NIS of Abrams (guimbri & bass), Lisa Alvarado (harmonium) Mikel Patrick Avery (drums) & Jason Stein (bass clarinet) are Hamid Drake (percussion), Josh Berman & Ben Lamar Gay (cornets), Nick Mazzarella & Mai Sugimoto (alto saxophones & flute), Kara Bershad (harp) & Chicago living legend of the tenor saxophone Ari Brown. Recorded live to tape at Electrical Audio & The Graham Foundation, cover painting Vibratory Cartography: Nepantla, by Lisa Alvarado."Since first developing Natural Information Society in 2010, Joshua Abrams has been gradually expanding the group's conceptual underpinnings, its musical references & the sheer number of the group's members. Its music is, in a sense, an expansive form of minimalism, based in repeated & overlaid rhythmic patterns, ostinatos & modality. Its roots, its scale & its meaning become clearer in time. If time is gravity, it also allows us to carry more. Having begun as fundamentally a rhythm section with Abrams' guimbri at its core, the version here can stretch to a tentet, including six horns. Abrams has been expanding his minimalism gradually, but he has long understood a key to minimalism's potential: the breadth of its roots in the late 1950s & early 1960s, ranging from the dissatisfaction of young European-stream composers with the limitations of serialism to the simultaneous dissatisfaction of jazz musicians with the dense harmonic vocabulary of bop & hard bop. The former began exploring rhythmic complexity & narrow tonal palates in place of harmonic abstraction (Steve Reich's Drumming, Philip Glass' Music with Changing Parts; perhaps above all Terry Riley's In C & his late '60s all-night organ & loop concerts); the later reduced dense chord changes to scales (signally with Miles Davis' Kind of Blue, but rapidly expanding with John Coltrane's vast project). In the 1950s the LP record opened the world with documentation of Asian & African musics, key influences on both minimalists & jazz musicians. If John Coltrane's soprano saxophone suggested the keening shehnai of Bismillah Khan, the instrument was rapidly taken up by two key minimalists, LaMonte Young & Riley, similarly appreciative of its flexible intonation, the same thing that kept it out of big bands. If the guimbri, the North African hide-covered lute that Abrams plays with NIS, involves a rich tradition of hypnotic healing music associated with the Gnawa people, Abrams' music also touches on other musics as well --other depths, memories & healings, different drones, rhythms & modes. As the group expands on Since Time Is Gravity, he has made certain jazz traditions in the same stream more explicit as well. If there is a mystical & elastic quality involved in the experience of time, both in direction & duration, you will catch it here. The parts for the choir of winds expand on the roles of Abrams' guimbri, Mikel Patrick Avery & Hamid Drake's percussion & Lisa Alvarado's harmonium: at times, the winds are almost looping in the tentet version, each hitting a repeating note in turn, at once drone & distinct inflection on temporal sequence. The brilliance of the work resides in Abrams' compositions, the NIS' intuitive execution & in Ari Brown's singular embodiment of the great tenor saxophone tradition, including the oracular genius of Eddie 'Lockjaw' Davis, & Yusef Lateef..." --Stuart Broomer, April 2022

MAN-EATERS Quatro Muchachos LP
"Quatro Muchachos is the third Man-Eaters entry in an ongoing tale of crushingly primal punk rock that asks only one question of its listeners, will you raise your lighter to their rock? Inhale, hold, and release. Get ready for a lifelong addiction to the purest rock on the streets. Firing on all conceivable cylinders on this junior effort, the album works as a veritable best of for the band. The purest, and most refined Eaters effort to date. Bringing to mind the best elements of hot steel and acid-era Nervous Eaters, The Album by Eater, tinges of A Minute to Pray a Second to Die Flesh Eaters, and the '70s psychedelic progressive Welsh group Man. Yet, neither nervous, children, or fans of prog rock, Man-Eaters third installment sways distinctly on a playing field of its own. Hailed the world over for their bombastic and crystal-clear sound and image, unforgettable, and sometimes forgettable live performances, and immortal hymns. Punk rock legends Man-Eaters have changed the lives of rockers for more than four years plus. With powerful storytelling, their music and concerts bring to life universal themes like friendship, loyalty, and integrity. Man-Eaters unite people of all ages and backgrounds in a worldwide community, providing them with motivation and inspiration to achieve their dreams, overcome, and conquer any obstacles in their path, and to write their own history. With unfaltering courage, always true to themselves, Man-Eaters have endured and inspire victory to all who come to know them. They give their fans what they love them for; massive, powerful soundtrack of their lives, songs that celebrate the audacity of the individual and the spirit of the community. Deeply embedded into the inner core of the hardest of rock, dwells these quatro muchachos, unaffected by the modern world, hard at work erecting, and orchestrating the foundations of rock pillars that this entire world rests upon. The boys are back, and god dammit they've done it again."

FAKI, LEN Zig Zak 12"
Len Faki returns to his own label Figure for a first release after the arrival of his giant Fusion LP. Opener "Zig Zag" stays emblematic for Faki's signature style, a lean and effective slice of modern-day techno: muscular and well-balanced, this driving tool keeps it simple but dynamic and the energy always moving. "Loop 10" is a collaboration track from long-time label mates Len Faki, Jeroen Search and UBX127. Combining the best of three worlds their distinct loopy elements are talking back and forth, gluing the track together -- can you figure out who is who? Another strong collab, "Morgana" is a piece of mesmerizing dub techno, created together with the new Figure addition Jancen. Spacious yet powerful, this one builds patiently before it comes crashing down with elegant force. Finishing off x48, Faki adds a version of his own opener, detuning the unnerving synths, fragmenting percussion and adding some atmospheric vocals.

BELL WITCH Demo 2011 LP
"Bell Witch's Mirror Reaper is one of the best metal albums of 2017. A single monolithic track, it pays tribute to the band's former drummer Adrian Guerra, who tragically passed away in 2016. The band initially made their presence known in the US doom scene with a well-received demo in 2011. At thirty-seven minutes, this recording is a massive statement of purpose which far-eclipsed the 'demo' status implied by its name. It was recorded by Brandon Fitzsimons (Wormwood), the same engineer behind the band's first effort, Longing. Demo 2011 showcases Bell Witch's heavy-yet-minimalist sound now lauded as timeless, relevant and undeniably sorrowful. Flenser is proud to unleash this new pressing of a classic moment in contemporary US doom with artwork by the band's own Adrian Guerra (RIP).""Bell Witch turns funeral doom and its moribund focus into a beautiful hymn." --Pitchfork

HEY CABRERA! The Moment/Exposed (J. Albert Remixes) 12"
Double Italo header incoming! Hailing from Turin in northern Italy comes a new artist on Frank Music named Hey Cabrera! who presents his dance single "The Moment," which has it all: The ever-familiar bassline, melodies, and pianos for days and topped with additional catchy vocal phrases. It's exactly this kind of unique vibe you only hear when it's truly made in Italy. Label boss Giovanni Francesco Alberto -- a.k.a. Johannes Albert -- steps in with a sizzling club mix to keep the vibe afloat. Who wouldn't want to live in "The Moment"? Flip it over, and the B-side "Exposed" carries the same high-energy tradition -- more vocals, even punchier pianos, and for the J.A. club mix, a dash of 808s for that extra groove. Housed in a fully printed cover and ready to soundtrack your summer nights. Grazie mille, Gianluca! The power of Italo disco -- often imitated, never duplicated.

CAPITAL LETTERS Headline News LP
"Capital Letters mashed up the U.K. sound systems in 1978 with 'Smoking My Ganja,' a punchy rockers styled single with a distinctly British flavor. The irrepressible song wafted straight up the reggae chart, prompting the Greensleeves label to send the group into the studio with Chris Cracknell to record a full-length. Headline News arrived in the new year, immediately garnering critical acclaim and sending reggae fans running to the shops. Hailing from Wolverhampton, the Letters were a big band, eight-strong (adding another guitarist/vocalist for their 1979 John Peel radio session), and boasting four vocalists, two drummers (one the conga player) and two percussionists, among their ranks. In Jamaica, brass and/or organ filled out the arrangements, the Letters, however, used percussion, giving the band a surprisingly fleshy, rhythm driven sound. And then there's keyboardist Earl Lynch, a decided jazz fan, who unlike his Jamaican counterparts didn't provide atmospheres to the songs, but a snazzy flare instead, a predilection best heard on 'Rumours' and 'Run Run Run.' However, it's the album's opening track, 'Fire,' that best epitomizes the band at their bubbly roots reggae best, a song driven by a plethora of propulsive beats and percussion, a compulsive bassline, sharp reggae guitar, bouncy keyboards, and infectious vocals. Elsewhere, bass player Junior Brown shines on 'Daddy Was No Murderer,' while the entire band swaggers across the more free-form styled roots reggae instrumental 'Buzz Rock.' Moving deftly from militant steppers style to the punchy almost ska-ified 'Ganja' hit, every one of the ten tracks on the set was worthy of sound system play. A pure roots and culture band, Headline's themes range from the religion to self-affirmation, as the band batter down Babylon, rally for unity, push for marijuana legalization (of course), and discuss injustice and unemployment. Unusually, the group also strongly condemn Ugandan President Idi Amin, not that he wasn't thoroughly deserving, but at a time when it was de rigueur to praise Black African leaders (and overlook those with flaws), the British band refused to pull their punches."

"The sing-jay innovator follows up his breakthrough Wa-Do-Dem release with this quality outing from 1983. Thompson weaves a tough and spacious sonic background similar to another of Eek's important producers of the time, Henry "Junjo" Lawes. YELLOWMAN & JOSEY WALES Two Giants Clash LP
"During the late '70s and early '80s, the DJ rose to prominence in Jamaica's musical hotbed and helped usher in the dancehall era after several years of roots reggae dominance. Some of the earliest and most talented of these toasters included Charlie Chaplin, Ranking Toyan, General Echo, Jah Thomas, and the young Josey Wales. This musical outlaw first came up with U-Roy's Stur-Gav Hi-Fi before riding hits produced by Henry 'Junjo' Lawes, Bunny Roots, and George Phang -- he even manned the boards himself on his sophomore release, No Way Better Than Yard. By the time of this 1984 meeting with the biggest dancehall star of the early dancehall period, Yellowman, Wales had honed his hoarse-toned and rangy delivery to perfection. The resulting album, which avoids the sad fate of many a marquee date, is one of the highlights of the period. Besides some top toasting, the album also features superb backdrops from Lawes and the Roots Radics." --Stephen Cook, AllMusic

"Violence Dimension is our seventh full length release. We have come quite a distance in time and space since we released Horseback in 2010. We are all bound by death, whether we like it or not. Moving away from the traditional "drums/bass/guitar" structure has allowed Ungraven to experiment further with both sound and composition. Hollows Is an experiment in sonics and allows both Davis and Perry to perform a sickening sonic duet as their respective instruments carve a universe shaped hole in your consciousness. Inspired by artists such as Tangerine Dream, Circle, Zombi, and Harold Budd. Hollows is a combination of composed and improvised elements, constructed remotely from their bases in England and Denmark. BLACK HONEY CULT Black Honey Cult CD
Even the name is mysterious -- Black Honey Cult evokes a sense of intrigue and the otherworldly, a fitting moniker for a band born out of deep roots in Los Angeles' storied underground music scene. The story begins in the early '90s, when Johnny DeVilla and Jake Cavaliere first crossed paths, performing in various bands at the legendary JabberJaw, a hub for raw talent and boundary-pushing sound. Fast forward to 2003, when Spencer Robinson joined forces with Jake and Johnny in The Lords of Altamont, solidifying a creative bond that has endured for decades. Over the years, this trio found themselves collaborating time and again, refining their chemistry and exploring new sonic landscapes. It wasn't until 2010 that Black Honey Cult began to take shape, though the journey to a definitive lineup was a winding road. After several incarnations, the band finally coalesced into its current form with the addition of Garey Snider on drums, and Travis Petersen on guitar, whose contributions completed the puzzle. Jake and Garey, longtime conspirators with a shared desire to work together, brought their vision to fruition, creating a group that feels both destined and uniquely fresh. Drawing inspiration from pioneers like The Velvet Underground and psychedelic icons, The 13th Floor Elevators, Black Honey Cult infuses their sound with shades of early goth, post-punk, and krautrock. The result? A hypnotic, genre-defying blend of dark, atmospheric psychedelia that transports listeners to another plane -- like dropping LSD on Mars. The band's sound was brought to life by the legendary Paul Roessler (of Screamers and 45 Grave fame) at Kitten Robot Studios, a perfect match for their haunting and transportive vision. Black Honey Cult stands as a testament to years of collaboration, creativity, and perseverance, offering an immersive experience for those ready to step into their enigmatic world. Prepare to follow the cult and lose yourself in the spellbinding sounds of Black Honey Cult. Also available on black vinyl (HPS 349LP), gold-color vinyl (HPS 349LTD-LP), and black/white/red color vinyl (HPS 349ULTRA-LP).

Brand new live album for the US hard rock power trio. Five tracks full of psychedelic '70s riffs. Hippie Death Cult's journey through shameless and triumphant artistic expression has led them to become a vibrant force in the realms of psychedelia and riff-heavy rock n' roll. This journey has not been without its challenges, but the band has always managed to emerge stronger and more determined than ever. This lineup currently consists of guitarist and founder Eddie Brnabic, vocalist and bassist Laura Phillips, and drummer Harry Silvers. WITCHCRAFT Idag CD
More than 20 years after their debut, Witchcraft's seventh album, IDAG, is an awaited full accounting of who they are as a band. Those who have clamored for the return to an earlier sound rooted in '70s classic progressive and heavy rock will delight to the strut of "Irreligious Flamboyant Flame" while the eight-minute opening title-track is the heaviest the band have ever sounded, and a succession of interspersed acoustic-based pieces helps create a vision of a new, soulfully folkish doom taking shape as they continue to move inexorably forward. The storyline of Witchcraft's growth, from Pelander's starting the band in ?rebro in 2000 in the wake of his prior outfit Norrsken's disbanding. A generational landmark of a 2004 self-titled debut helped spark a retroist movement that has become its own subgenre, but Witchcraft never stopped growing. IDAG is the tie that draws all of their more than two decades of exploring and growth together. Whatever they've done in the past and whatever they'll do in the future, IDAG feels like a nexus for defining who and what Witchcraft are. Black Metal manages to capture the world weary, woeful, attitude and vibe of doom better than a ton of albums that crank up the Sabbath worship to ridiculous levels. WILD MAGNOLIAS, THE With The New Orleans Project LP
Blue color vinyl. "In 1970, one of the leaders of the musical Mardi Gras Indian Tribes movement, The Wild Magnolias, became the first band to have a commercial recording released as a Mardi Gras Indian group. The band's legendary performances at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival also helped them launch into the recording of their 1974 debut LP -- the self-titled The Wild Magnolias which is now presented to you here. Easily some of the most fantastic New Orleans funk and soul ever laid down on vinyl. Eight songs that don't let up with its street-beat funk, call-and-response vocals (with lyrics like 'just a few puffs to make you feel all right' leading the charge) and a recording that captures the unhinged mania of so many talented musicians crammed into a studio making a stone-cold classic. With The New Orleans Project as their backing band including Albert Roberts (who played with Allen Toussaint & The Meters), Larry Panna (The Gaters), Snooks Eaglin (Professor Longhair as well as the creator of 15 solo records) and Willie Tee (one of the most influential figures in the New Orleans funk and soul scene who arranged and co-wrote on this LP), the NOP beautifully rides along with the assortment of bottles, tambourines, drums and rattles that the tribe members bring to the air. This LP will turn heads for those who haven't heard it yet, while being a repeat funk classic to those who already have it in their bones."

WIPERS Youth of America LP
2025 restock. Authorized reissue of the 2nd Wipers album, originally issued in 1981. "Simply obliterating any conception of the Wipers as a mere punk band, Greg Sage released this follow-up to Is This Real? in 1981 -- a sophisticated, overwhelming response to the evil times marked by the turn of the decade. Broken up into six long songs, Youth of America is a much colder, harrowing experience than the teen angst of their debut. Vocally, Sage comes off as sleep-deprived and forsaken, snarling not only at his own predicament but at the predicament of the entire world. The centerpiece of the album is the title track, a dire ten minutes of paranoia and angst that gave Sage the space to showcase his wildest, darkest playing yet. As bassist Brad Davidson and drummer Brad Naish hold the same hypnotic rhythm for the entire song, the guitar careens and swoops with such a frantic energy, it seems as though it's the only thing keeping Sage alive in the maelstrom of sound. It's a fitting commentary that the exacting, post-punk legends Mission of Burma and squalling, noisy thugs The Melvins both saw fit to cover the track. Jackpot Records have kept to the high standards set by our previous reissues (The Wipers' Is This Real? and the self-titled Beauregarde LP), and Youth of America is pressed on high-quality vinyl at RTI and packaged in a sturdy, old-fashioned tip-on sleeve. The tracks have been mastered from original tapes by Greg Sage himself, and the cover is identical to the original sleeve as issued in 1981."

TORKY TORK Two Be Ok (The Seed Tape Vol.1) LP
"German producer living in Amsterdam drops his hemp-themed solo LP on Jakarta with guests like FloFilz, S.Fidelity, Dexter, and Wandl! Amsterdam's resident by choice, Torky Tork's Seed Tape Vol. 1 is a reminiscence to his love for growing plants, having created his own personal 'music for plants' project, to keep flora and fauna entertained and triggering the blooming process. The lush and laid-back stimulating sounds and baselines are beneficial for the plants and the listeners cortex equally. Torky's sound ? which, even across various projects can be described with the broad spectrum of influences. The restless Berlin native has never stuck to one formula. His urge for ever-new input is reflected by the constant change in the center of his life -- for some years now, he has been constantly traveling back and forth between his Berlin Bunker studio and Amsterdam, his home of choice. So the influence of weed has naturally been around him for a while, yet inspiring him to dive into the album Two Be Ok. The illustrious line-up of musical guests on the album contains Germany's most in-demand producers, the self-taught bedroom beatmaker FloFilz, Berlin's bunker studio affiliate S. RADA'S OLD BOYS, THE Manos LP
Blending Afro-Uruguayan traditions with rock, soul, jazz, and funk, Ruben Rada has shaped the music of Uruguay and Argentina from the 1960s to the present day. Throughout his career, he has consistently been surrounded by talented musicians who have been integral to his sound. This was especially true with Daniel "Lobito" Lagarde, bassist and founding member of the iconic band Totem in the early 1970s; Ricardo Nol?, keyboardist, arranger, and musical director of Rada's band in Argentina during the 1980s; and Nelson Cedr?z, the drummer who has been by Rada's side since the 1990s. In 2016, these three musicians reunited to form Rada's Old Boys, releasing an album of jazz-infused reinterpretations of Rada's songs that earned rave reviews. Now, they return with Manos, a bold new album that reimagines Rada's works from every phase of his career, featuring deeply personal renditions and a special guest appearance from Rada himself on one track.

DENOIR, EDUARDO MATEO, DIANE Ineditas LP
In?ditas showcases the incredible musicianship and creativity of Diane Denoir and Eduardo Mateo in their early years. These previously unreleased tracks, recorded between 1966 and 1968 in various settings, blend bossa nova, chanson fran?aise, jazz, and pop in unique ways, revealing another side of the South American scene during the 1960s. Born as Diana Reches, Diane Denoir made her debut as a singer in 1966, backed by Eduardo Mateo on guitar. Influenced by Fran?oise Hardy and Astrud Gilberto, along with her own unique style, she performed a special blend of chanson fran?aise, bossa nova (sung in Portuguese, English, and French), and jazz. By then, Mateo was already a well-known guitarist in the Uruguayan music scene and a sought-after arranger. He was also beginning to establish himself as an incredible songwriter, connecting different musical universes in unique ways. The two formed a fruitful artistic partnership that lasted until the early seventies. This album, originally released in 1998 on CD, is a compilation of various unreleased recordings from different sources (concerts, radio and TV recordings, homemade tapes) made between 1966 and 1968. It is a unique document that showcases their incredible musicianship and creativity in their early years. The duo swings from bossa nova classics like "The Girl from Ipanema" to the rhythm and blues of "Fever," including chanson fran?aise standards like "Le lendemain" and "La Derni?re Valse." The album also features earlier versions of the three best-known Mateo songs performed by Diane: "Y hoy te vi," "Esa tristeza," and "Mejor me voy," all of which were inspired by Diane. In?ditas unveils a new dimension of South American music from an unforgettable era.

PEVERELIST Pulse Decay 12"
Drawing a line under his Pulse series, Pev brings a fifth and final dose of positivity to the dance with a distinctly techno-oriented focus and space for the odd curveball. Strident opener "Pulse XVII" bookends a lean, subtly stepped mid-section workout with pearlescent synth strings and chord stabs patched in for maximum Motor City uplift. "Pulse XVIII" operates within a taut house framework, stirring up a forthright jack track with the sparsest of ingredients drawn from the palette of bassweight 4/4 that has run throughout the Pulse series. The tempo noticeably nudges up on "Pulse XIX" -- a nagging dub techno variation where the genre's usual blown-out dreaminess is replaced with snappy urgency. That leaves it to "Pulse XX" to close the series out with a sharp left turn towards light-footed leftfield steppers gear with alien hooks -- an approach that harks back to earlier Pev output, but given a fresh lick with the bright-eyed production that has informed his latest phase of studio exploration. Livity Sound is a label set up by Peverelist in 2011 as a vehicle for a raw and exploratory strain of UK techno, rooted in the heritage of UK dance music and sound system culture. It has since become one of the UK's foremost protagonists for cutting edge underground electronic music.

ASHLEY, ROBERT Automatic Writing CD
2025 restock; 1996 release. Automatic Writing compiles three early Robert Ashley works from 1967-79 -- some of his most experimental works. Composed in recorded form over a period of five years, "Automatic Writing", originally issued on Lovely Music in 1979, is the result of Robert Ashley's fascination with involuntary speech. He recorded and analyzed the repeated lines of his own mantra and extracted four musical characters. The result is a quiet, early form of ambient music. The piece rather famously formed the basis for Nurse With Wound's A Missing Sense (1997). Steven Stapleton's commentary on the recording: "A Missing Sense was originally conceived as a private tape to accompany my taking of LSD. When in that particular state, Robert Ashley's 'Automatic Writing' was the only music I could actually experience without feeling claustrophobic and paranoid. We played it endlessly; it seemed to become part of the room, perfectly blending with the late night city ambiance and the 'breathing' of the building." The piece features the voices of Ashley and Mimi Johnson, with electronics and Polymoog backing, with a switching circuit designed and built by Paul DeMarinis. "Purposeful Lady Slow Afternoon" and "She Was A Visitor" are excerpts from an opera entitled "That Morning Thing", composed in 1966-67 as a result of Ashley's impulse to express something about the suicides of three friends. "Purposeful Lady Slow Afternoon", originally issued in 1968, is a woman's description of a sexual experience. Ashley attempts "to demonstrate the dichotomy between the rational-whatever can be explained in words-and its opposite-which is not irrational or a-rational, but which cannot be explained in words." The lead voice performed by Cynthia Liddell, the processed back-up chorus, the recurring bell tone, and the pervading tape hiss, create an unsettling mood. "She Was a Visitor" was originally issued on the electronic compilation Extended Voices in 1967. It is another form of description, intended to be understood as a form of rumor. The chorus is divided into groups, each headed by a leader. A lone speaker repeats the title sentence throughout. The separate phonemes of this sentence are picked up freely by the group leaders and are relayed to the group members, who sustain them softly and for the duration of one natural breath. The time lag produces a staggered, chant-like effect, with the sounds moving outward from the nearest performer to the farthest. Booklet notes by Robert Ashley.

HAMMER GROUP, JAN Live In Dallas LP
"Czech-American jazz pianist, exceptional keyboarder and composer Jan Hammer is best known for his music for films and television series. In 1984 he was commissioned to write the theme and background music for the new American crime series Miami Vice. In November 1985, the Miami Vice soundtrack stormed to the top of the US Billboard charts. With over four million copies sold (the CD had just taken over the market), the album went four times platinum in the US. At the Grammy Awards in February 1986, Hammer's 'Miami Vice Theme' won two awards. The Czech-born musician had previously made a name for himself as a member of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, as a Minimoog player on Joni Mitchell's Mingus album and through his collaborations with musicians such as Jerry Goodman, Jeff Beck, Al Di Meola, Journey guitarist Neal Schon and John Abercrombie. In early 1977, Jan Hammer played with the Jan Hammer Group featuring Fernando Saunders (bass), Tony Smith (drums) and Steve Kindler (electric violin) of the Mahavishnu Orchestra in Dallas. Nearly 35 minutes of this concert are now being physically released for the first time on a limited vinyl edition of 750 copies. SINIESTRO TOTAL Acto Fundacional LP
Siniestro Total were a Spanish punk band formed in Vigo in 1981. Their debut LP ?Cu?ndo se come aqu?? is regarded as one of the best Spanish albums from that era. Acto Fundacional is the recording of their first ever gig in December 1981. It comprises original songs and versions that would also become the band's live repertoire in their early years. Four songs played that night never made it into any of Siniestro Total's LPs. A big commercial success accompanied the band for over a decade, until the mid-late '90s, when the popularity of the groups from the so-called "movida madrile?a" and other similar scenes from other parts of Spain such as Galicia, where Siniestro Total were formed, faded away. While Juli?n Hern?ndez would remain as the front man of Siniestro Total, the other members of the original line-up of the band would later take part in other well-known musical projects such as Golpes Bajos, Os Resentidos, and Aerol?neas Federales. Many of their best and most popular songs, reflecting the punk and fun essence of the band, were written in the early days of Siniestro Total. The show on this album took place at Vigo's Cine Salesianos in December 1981, as part of a festival called Nadal Rock, in front of a small but enthusiastic crowd. Four songs played that night never made it into any of the band's LPs: the instrumental intro, "Bomba at?mica en Policarpo Sanz" -- a cover of the Jam's "A-Bomb on Wardour St." ? "Isla Tropical," and "?Un, dos!" -- the Specials' "Little Bitch." But the most outstanding revelation that night was maybe Germ?n Coppini proving himself to be a talented frontman, sporting a stunning voice and a sarcastic and cruel attitude on stage. Right at the end of the show the band was asked to play the irreverent "Ayatolah!" again and, although not crazy about the idea, agreed to do it as a treat to the small crowd, made up mainly of friends. At that very moment the band realized they had a big tune there. "Ayatolah!" would become one of Siniestro Total's anthems from that night on.

CLIMAX Gusano Mecanico LP
Gusano mec?nico has become a coveted collector's item, highly valued by music lovers worldwide. It has been included in 5001 Record Collector Dreams by Hans Pokora, receiving the highest rarity rating and hailed as a musical masterpiece. It was released in 1974 by the legendary Bolivian rock band Climax and was a big leap from their early recordings, where they paid tribute to their musical heroes. It became a landmark of prog rock in Bolivia and one of the few conceptual albums produced in the country. Gusano mec?nico explores themes such as the loss of personal essence and the vindication of indigenous peoples. Founded in 1968 from the remnants of the disbanded Los Black Byrds and the unrealized project The Turtles, Climax was formed by guitarist Jos? "Pepe" Eguino and bassist Javier Sald?as, who developed a strong bond with drummer ?lvaro C?rdova, cemented by their shared passion for rock. Together, they embarked on a journey of self-discovery, spending several months in the United States during a crucial period straddling the end of the Summer of Love and the lead-up to Woodstock. This period, perhaps the most significant of the 1960s countercultural movement, saw an explosion of artistic expression driven by dissatisfaction with the society that the youth had inherited from their parents. Within this context, the influence of iconic bands such as The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, Blue Cheer, and Emerson played a pivotal role in their decision to return to Bolivia and form the country's first 'power trio'. They quite literally brought psychedelic and prog rock to Bolivia by carrying new, experimental vinyl records in their luggage, at a time when rock music (and music in general) had very limited exposure due to the scarcity of media resources. Their musical project reflected their influences and laid down the first traces of what would later be called heavy rock, a genre that never achieved widespread popularity in Bolivia. Climax embarked on a prog rock journey, exploring themes such as the loss of personal essence and the vindication of indigenous peoples. Their rebellious discourse opposed the mechanization of humankind brought about by past decades of industrial exploitation in which they resist being absorbed by the system. It became a landmark of prog rock in Bolivia and one of the few conceptual albums produced in the country.

WILTSHIRE, J. Sunflower At Day 12"
J. Wiltshire returns to MUSAR with Sunflower At Day EP -- a deep, atmospheric excursion across four tightly woven dance-floor tracks. Marking MUSAR's 20th release, this EP showcases some of Wiltshire's most club-ready work yet, blending outsider house, ambient trance, and Cornish electronic influences. The title track "Sunflower At Day" is a shoegaze-infused chugger that nods to the ethereal haze of My Bloody Valentine and has a rave energy reminiscent of the Future Sound of London. Track two, "Cosmic Slap," takes over with its deep, dub-heavy sounds and off-kilter rhythms, playing to Wiltshire's more experimental side under a techno beat. On the B side, listeners dive deeper into Wiltshire's intricate melodic world. "Traversing" unfolds with enveloping, pastoral harmonic patterns, balancing surging intensity with an organic flow. Finally, the EP closes with the cinematic "Rush Point 9," a late-night noir groove that offers a perfect, reflective finale to this sonic journey. With Sunflower At Day, Wiltshire fuses intricate textures and melodies with dance-floor intensity, offering another great soundscape from the artist for both club and home listeners.

AU PAIRS Sense And Sensuality (Magenta Vinyl) LP
"Sense and Sensuality (1982) was the second and final album by seminal British post-punk band The Au Pairs. The four-piece group from Birmingham were very much in tune with the early '80s growth pangs from the first punk explosion -- stripping down their music from their debut LP to a funkier, more rhythmic essence, and shifting the focus of their lyrics to the personal rather than the political. The addition of horns and imaginative synthesizers allowed for more satisfying sonic diversity, from the disco-informed dance-punk of 'Instant Touch' to the cabaret swing of 'Tongue in Cheek.' While 'That's When It's Worth It' takes several elements of popular post-punk -- looping auxiliary percussion rhythms and a sporadically used horn section -- and crafts them into a wild sound that's equal parts dance, psychedelia, punk and art pop. Their distinctly punk take on sex and gender politics, meanwhile, was their strongest thematic strain -- and that's truly where Sense and Sensuality shined. Despite only reaching #79 in the UK when first released, it's now widely seen as one of the best post-punk albums ever. Sense and Sensuality is now available as a limited numbered edition of 750 copies on translucent magenta colored vinyl and contains an insert."

TRISTWCH Y FENYWOD Tristwch Y Fenywod LP
"Singing black-lit liturgies of bog bodies caked in mud, entranced by nocturnal landscapes flickering in the moon-glow and powered by queer enchantment, Tristwch y Fenywod are a Welsh-language gothic avant-rock power-coven. Exhumed from the depths of Leeds' experimental underground, the trio consist of Gwretsien Ferch Lisbeth (Guttersnipe, The Ephemeron Loop), Leila Lygad (Hawthonn) and Sidni Sarffwraig (Slaylor Moon, The Courtneys). Stark, striking and bewitching, Tristwch y Fenywod's self-titled album is their debut studio recording, following just 10 gigs and a live demo. Formed in 2022, Tristwch y Fenywod ('The Sadness of Women') record exclusively in the Welsh language, conjuring an eldritch, subterranean, alien folk music played on dual zither, electronic drums and bass guitar. With towering, siren-like vocals curling around the Welsh consonants, accompanied by stark, martial rhythms and swirling claw-plucked strings, Tristwch y Fenywod feels like an early 4AD recording dredged from the waters of an Anglesey swamp. The effect is simultaneously chilling and stirring. The eight tracks on the record constitute what feels like a recently rediscovered, unholy grail of edgy, atmospheric, occult feminist goth emissions. Gwretsien's dual-zither playing scatters melodic fragments and spirals of harmony around the decimated space opened up by the lugubrious bass playing and pounding, brooding drum pads. Coupled with the Welsh vocal, Tristwch y Fenywod embody a new, unique Celtic darkwave sound, equal parts Pornography-era The Cure, Svitlana Nianio's haunted hammered string-work and the dark beauty of Dead Can Dance or This Mortal Coil. Opener 'Blodyn Gwyrdd' feels like the last ride of Princess Ukok, with lumbering bass and 6/8 rhythms in procession to the event horizon with an entreating, impassioned vocal and surprising lyrical theme. The doomed dancing of the zither provides the mysterious melodic bedrock throughout the album, particularly on 'Ferch Gyda'r Llygaid Du''s heavy funereal sway and the slowly building, paroxysmal banshee breakdown of 'Awen': an astonishing swell of thrilling chaos. The album was recorded and produced by Ross Halden and the band at Hohm Studio, Bradford, Summer 2023."

ANGEL SNAKE/MONOPOLY CHILD STAR SEARCHERS Snakinist Sand Form/No Jaw Nite Rights LP
Long, long overdue reissue of this gem from the depths of The Skaters dreamweaving dimension, released as a limited tape through Spencer Clark's Pacific City imprint back in 2008. Comprising a period of extreme and vital activity for both Clark as Monopoly Child Star Searchers and Black Joker and his kindred spirit James Ferraro under his own name and a myriad of identities like Liquid Metal or Edward Flex, this split finds these intrepid explorers on each side of a scrying mirror. Conjuring the Angel Snake entity as a vessel for unlocking the unconscious, Ferraro takes up the A-side with hypnotic wooden percussion sustaining queasy tape processed keyboard lines that intertwine amidst a growing haze of hiss. About halfway through the digression an announcer boombox voice cuts up the scenery for a serpentine dance around the discarded remnants of civilizations past and future. Clark's Monopoly Child rides a beaming synth and muffled percussion accents on his trademarked keyboard thrills, all ascending and descending runs brimming on the horizon, not quite here, not quite out of reach, fading out to a galloping murk smeared by hallucinatory flute-like sounds and portamento accents that float in harmonic suspension. Truly visionary and arresting stuff from these true purveyors of the netherworld, due to be rediscovered in these times of poor half-reassessments of the given past. It was never a dream, it was always a dream.

MENDOZA, AVA The Circular Train CD
"Ava Mendoza has never made an album quite as personal as her second solo full-length, The Circular Train. Through her decades of collaborations with Nels Cline, Carla Bozulich, William Parker, Fred Frith, Matana Roberts, and Mick Barr -- plus years leading her power trio Unnatural Ways and playing in Bill Orcutt's quartet -- the guitarist's name has become synonymous with virtuoso technique, raw passion, and visceral resonance, a player pushing the edges of the guitar's possibilities. Along the way, from 2007 to 2023, Mendoza was writing these slow-burning, incandescent songs. The Circular Train is comprised solely of her single-tracked guitar playing and, on two songs, her corporeal singing. Her first solo LP of original material since relocating from California to New York City a decade ago, much of The Circular Train was honed amid pandemic years that clarified the virtues of slowing down. This expressive avant-rock is a definitive introduction to one of the most uncompromising and inquisitive visions in creative music. Mendoza's thrilling melange of free jazz, blues, noise, classical training, and blazing experimental rock'n'roll all coheres with ecstatic feedback, with picking and solos that crest with shimmer. Sometimes she sounds like a one-woman Sonic Youth with guttural and poised vocals that equally evoke Patti Smith and blues greats like Jessie Mae Hemphill.

SHITKICKER REBELLION, THE White Light White Heat/99th Floor 7"
In 2022, Greg celebrated the release of his book On The Street I Met a Dog and album Vintage Violence with a lively event at Rochester's House of Guitars, featuring a surprise set by The Shitkicker Rebellion -- a one-off band with former Chesterfield Kings and Low Spirits members. The energy led to a quick return to the studio, resulting in this very single. For such a special event, a book signing was scheduled, spiced up with free pizza, a "party" atmosphere, and a small, unannounced live performance. Greg was joined by Rick Cona (bass), Paul Morabito (guitar), Zachary Koch (drums) and Ryan Moore (lead guitar, piano/organ). The band performed five songs under the name The Shitkicker Rebellion. As expected, it was a blast, leaving both the artists and audience wanting more. VOIVOD Killing Technology Cassette
Voivod formed in Jonqui?re, Quebec, in 1982 and soon caught the attention of Metal Blade Records, leading to their 1984 debut, War and Pain. Living on welfare in Montreal, they rehearsed daily, shaping their raw sound for RRR???AAARRR. After their gear was stolen, they funded the album through the legendary World War III festival, where they signed with Noise Records. Their next release, Killing Technology (1987), marked a major evolution, blending thrash, prog, and hardcore under producer Harris Johns in West Berlin.

BLITZ Voice Of A Generation (Splatter Vinyl) LP
Splatter vinyl version. Raw, violent and catchy, Blitz's 1982 debut album sounded like a shot of pure rock and roll through the violence of the English working class. Made up by two punks and two skinheads, with a lot to say about violence and football, Blitz appealed to all kinds of lowlifes, who finally had a voice for their generation. This new version of the long out of print classic includes three bonus tracks (two from the Carry On Oi! comp and one from the Total Noise comp).

AGNOSTIC FRONT First Warning: The 'United Blood' Era Recordings, New York City, 1983 (Color Vinyl) LP
Splatter vinyl version. The early days of the undisputed godfathers of New York City Hardcore! Controversial East Coast punk band Agnostic Front were lynchpins of the New York hardcore scene. Formed in 1982 by former Eliminators guitarist Vinnie Stigma along with vocalist John Watson, drummer Rob CribCrash, and bassist Diego, the band went through several other early members to settle on Vinnie Stigma, bassist Adam Mucci, drummer Raybeez, and Cuban-born singer Roger Miret for these recordings. Often misunderstood in their early days due largely to their majority skinhead following and the shock imagery of their record covers, the group carved out its reputation in the dilapidated Lower East Side of Manhattan, then blighty by poverty, drugs, violence, and high levels of urban decay. The recordings featured on this incendiary compilation date from the very start of their recording career, beginning with the demos that led to their debut seven-inch release, the self-issued United Blood EP (1983), bolstered by other recordings from the period that were left unissued at the time; some of the material included here later appeared on the Raw And Unleased CD (1995), but several songs are appearing on vinyl here for the very first time. Agnostic Front went on to reign supreme on the New York hardcore scene throughout the 1980s and although later recordings once again saw membership changes that brought a shift in style to include thrash-metal crossover elements, their longevity and high standing is such that they were featured on Showtime's The Godfathers of Hardcore documentary (2017), ultimately leading to Roger Miret's recently released autobiography, My Riot (2017).

SLITS, THE Live At The Gibus Club LP
The Slits' Live at the Gibus Club is pure, unfiltered chaos. Recorded in Paris on 26 January 1978, it captures the band at their wildest -- raw, untamed, and ready to explode. Just 14 years old, Ari-Up howls through "So Tough," "Love and Romance," and "Shoplifting" like she's starting a riot. Palmolive (drums), Viv Albertine (guitar), and Tessa Pollitt (bass) slash and pound through a jagged, off-the-rails set that feels like it could collapse at any moment. The crowd is tense, the banter is sharp, and the energy is electric. This isn't just a live album -- it's a time capsule of pure punk fury. Essential.

The first British punk band to appear on vinyl, The Damned enjoyed unprecedented early chart success and influenced the hardcore punk and goth movements. 1996's I'm Alright Jack And The Bean Stalk (aka Not Of This Earth) was a real departure for the re-vamped band that defied easy classification; moving away from the punk and goth of the past, it found Dave Vanian, Rat Scabies, and guitarist Alan Lee Shaw channeling psychedelia, new wave and traditional rock, bolstered by pedigree supporters including organist James Taylor and bassist Glen Matlock of the original Pistols. ESSELLE, TOM Revolutions & Evolutions 12"
Tom Esselle, staple of the South London music scene, hits his stride on Rhythm Section release Revolutions and Evolutions. Building on the success of his previous releases ("Lou's Groove" on Rhythm Section's Shouts 2021 compilation, Praise Bes EP on Wolf Music in 2022), his latest EP further showcases the breadth of his sound. Drawing on influences from across the house music spectrum and honing skills developed in the studio with Chaos In The CBD, Revolutions & Evolutions delivers a sound that looks boldly to the future while remaining firmly grounded in the classics. The A-side is primed for peak dance floor action: "Baddies" features a mid-2000s RnB vocal that did serious damage when Bradley Zero played it at Circoloco, while "Plaything," a big-room tech-house banger, echoes Moon Harbour's tougher catalogue, or a skunked-out Gavin Herlihy. The B-side is a slice of sunshine with "One Of These Days," an uplifting daytime house track featuring a deft keys solo from Dave Koor. "Harmonise" rounds off the EP: a smoky, dreamy groover to warm up the party or lock it in during the early hours. Tom has been producing music since 2010, patiently refining his sound. His 2015 debut, the choppy drum workout Until She Spoke on Wholemeal Music, became a quiet underground success played by luminaries like Ruf Dug and Gilles Peterson, and remains a staple in many a record bag to this day. His productions have also found their way into the collections of DJs from Moxie to Mr Scruff and Osunlade to DJ Harvey.

DREAMCASTMOE The Lost Tape Vol. 3 LP
The name dreamcastmoe is somewhat synonymous with the Peckham based Rhythm Section INTL Label. Despite this being their first collaboration committed to wax, the journey goes way back -- from debut London shows in Peckham to adventures across multiple continents, the DC-London nexus is alive and well and this recording is a testament to that bond! The biggest smile in any room, Davon has the rare ability to quietly command your attention, whether on stage or in person, and his rise and rise is an organic one, built on connection and camaraderie. TENNESSEE RIVER CROOKS Tennessee River Crooks LP
"This story played out locally all across the USA in the wake of the paradigm changing Beatles / British Invasion of 1964. Childhood friends Jimmy Stewart and Larry Farrar heard electric guitars and started a garage band, evolving into Rat Salad by 1970, Hit And Run after that, and finally the Tennessee River Crooks. The band name is taken from the cigar box roadie/manager Jerry Crouch used to stash cash in while working the door at countless gigs across Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Missouri, and Illinois. like most regional working bands of the day these guys played crowd pleasing cover versions at live shows to pay the bills. However, they intended to do their own material from the very start. Originally issued as a private pressing in 1976, this rare LP is an unfiltered slice of real life in the Southern rock genre."

PALLAS A Taste Of Ulysses 12"
"Are You in Heaven?" was famously shouted by Roxy DJ Eddy de Clercq to the crowd at one of the very first legendary house parties in Amsterdam. This phrase not only symbolizes an iconic moment that captured the spirit of the era -- it's also the title of one of the three tracks featured here. In 1991, inspired by the dance music craze that swept across Europe at the time, Arnoud Winkler and Jochem Peteri (who would later become the one-man supergroup Newworldaquarium) produced music that is equal parts euphoric, emotive, vital, and vibrant -- youthful in spirit, naive yet clever. A European translation of a US-American art form, born from pure enthusiasm and concentrated passion for a culture that, to this day, continues to resonate universally. Originally released on Lower East Side Records, the story told here is full of rave symbolism, after-party joy, and literal can-you-feel-it moments: rattling sub-bass, blissful pads, whispering voices, dub techniques, and subconscious peak-time signals. Complemented by a new edit of "Ulysses Horizon" by Gerd Janson (alongside a revised version of the original), alongside "Flowerdale Beach," and "Are You in Heaven?," the music here hasn't lost a single inch of its charm or allure. A taste of Dutch house deluxe.

TOBACCO CITY Horses LP
"Tobacco City is a Chicago-based band that blends cosmic country with a mix of psychedelic rock and honky-tonk soul. Their sound captures the essence of small-town nostalgia while embracing modern-day themes, exploring heartache, longing, and the bittersweet nature of life. With their uplifting energy and authentic songwriting, Tobacco City continues to carve out a unique space in the country-tinged Americana scene. On Horses, the highly anticipated follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut, Tobacco City, USA, the band takes listeners on a nostalgic journey through the haze of youth, where time feels suspended and plans are nonexistent. The album's lyrics conjure vivid images of small-town life -- smoking schwag behind the grocery store, drinking cream from a gas station with your first love -- capturing that carefree, uncertain time when the future felt distant. The music channels the spirit of '70s country with influences from legends like Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris, bringing a timeless, uplifting energy to each track. At the same time, the lyrics intersect with modern-day themes, blending the beauty and innocence of youth with the harsh realities of life. Horses feels like a contemporary take on classic country, merging a nostalgic past with the complex world of today, all while remaining undeniably authentic and heartfelt. This follow-up to Tobacco City, USA -- which received high praise from NPR and Rolling Stone -- cements the band's place at the forefront of a new wave of country-tinged Americana."

BRUGNOLINI, SANDRO Underground LP
In 1970, Italian composer Sandro Brugnolini recorded the two psychedelic lounge masterpieces Overground and Underground at Dirmaphon Studios in Rome. Featuring a lineup of some of Italy's finest musicians -- Silvano Chimenti (guitar), Angelo Baroncini (guitar), Giorgio Carnini (organ and piano), Giovanni Tommaso (bass and effects), and Enzo Restuccia (drums) -- these sessions were deeply rooted in the late 1960s psychedelic sound but uniquely fused jazz improvisation, funk, and Latin and African rhythms with cinematic melodies. This fusion defines their distinctive character and cements them as two of Brugnolini's most impressive works, remaining among the most sought-after artifacts from the golden era of Italian library music. Overground -- which Sonor Music Editions reissued in 2024 -- was originally released as the soundtrack to Persuasione, a documentary commissioned by Ente Provinciale Per Il Turismo Di Trento. Meanwhile, Underground was issued in two separate releases, RT 104 and RT 16, on the library and soundtrack label Record TV Discografica, founded by Alessandro Derevitzky in the late 1950s. In 2014, Sonor compiled both versions for Underground's first-ever reissue, featuring the longer version of "Psichefre?lico" from RT 16, instead of the shorter "Sostenuto" and "Ballata" versions from RT 104, along with new artwork. Now, in this 2025 reissue, Underground returns in its original RT 104 attire, with its original track listing and artwork. Sourced and carefully remastered from the original mono tapes and lacquer cut by Jukka Sarap?? at Timmion Cutting, this edition features carefully restored Record TV Discografica label design artwork, printed on high-quality card stock.

LOU For The Morning LP
2022 release. LOU is Melbourne-based guitarist/singer Sarah Hardiman who has played in bands such as Deaf Wish, Brick Head, and Nightclub; as well as, Moon Rituals, a collaboration with Mikey Young. Recording under the alias LOU, their debut album presents something quite different. Written and recorded alone over two days in Beechworth in mid-2021, For The Morning features eight bucolic, instrumental, guitar-based tracks which combine a country morning flavor with lush and melodic lyricism. Perhaps the most obvious (or easy) musical comparisons would be the twang 'n' strum of William Tyler, Bill Frisell, or American instrumentalists, Pell Mell. Or perhaps Manchester's Durutti Column minus the Englishness. Sarah/LOU released For The Morning as a purely digital album on September the 1st, 2021, to great acclaim and regular spins on local stations, 3PBS and 3RRR. It soon caught the ears of Sorcerer Records' head stooge, Dave Lang, who decided that such an excellent release deserved physical form as some sort of mark of its quality and for folks to enjoy as a musical artefact. The album features stunning artwork from local artist-designer Carl Breitkreutz which perfectly complements its sonics: expressive and slightly sun-washed. Sorcerer Records have pressed up 300 copies on vinyl, housed in a lovely matte sleeve. All songs written and recorded by LOU. Extra guitar on "Painting for the Future" by Mikey Young. Mixed and mastered by Mikey Young. All songs written and recorded on the stolen lands of the Yorta Yorta peoples.

ASH WEDNESDAY AND FRIENDS Love And Other Numbers 1980-1984 LP
2023 release. Melbourne-via-Adelaide musician Ash Wednesday's life in sound dates way back to 1977 in Adelaide when he was playing with the proto-punk rockers, JAB, known for their contribution to the Suicide Records comp', Lethal Weapons. They relocated to Melbourne, soon split up and then Ash went onto form The Models with Sean Kelly and others. Along with The Boys Next Door (with whom they released a split 7"), The Models were the darlings of the inner-city post-punk scene, and would later become a chart-topping pop band. But this was only the beginning of Ash's musical journey. This compilation puts together the best tracks from Ash's solo and collaborative releases from the extremely fertile sonic period of the early '80s. It has some rare solo tracks, his collaboration with minimal-synth songstress, Karen Marks (a demo version of her classic single, "Cold Cafe"), as well as multiple tracks from his coldwave synth-pop acts, Modern Jazz and The Metronomes. Somewhere in the sonic nexus of very early Human League, Suicide, and Cabaret Voltaire lies this musical universe Ash Wednesday inhabited, though his take on this new synthetic music was uniquely Australian. It was avant-garde, yet it strived for accessibility. For the first time on vinyl, a collection of the best musical contributions from this unique figure in Australian post-punk is put together for your listening pleasure.

RUDE, RON The Borders Of Disgrace LP
2023 release. Sorcerer reissues -- for the first time ever! -- this classic slice of outsider Australian post-punk, originally issued by Ron Rude himself on LP back in 1979. Born and raised in Belgrave, an outer suburb of Melbourne which, 40+ years ago was basically a rural town outside of Melbourne, Ron and his band, The Unforgettables, were a rag-tag of hippie-punks who, under Ron's tutelage, recorded this album throughout 1978/'79 in a vague sort of isolation from the world surrounding it. Ron was inspired by everything from Stockhausen to the Stooges and made a kind of basement Iggy/Lou sound in step with the city's post-punk scene, but always one step removed. Ron was a regular fixture in the scene which coalesced around the Crystal Ballroom in St. Kilda and featured other luminaries like the Boys Next Door, The Models et al, sharing stages with all and sundry. He reached a certain hometown infamy when he staged a hunger strike in the window of Missing Link Records after the album's release in protest of local commercial FM radio station 3XY not playing tracks from it. He also released the equally fantastic Vorpal Blade LP under the band name Piano Piano in 1980, among other highly-coveted rarities. But for now, Sorcerer presents this fascinating, unique and thoroughly rockin' slice of Melbourne post-punk DIY history. Newly remastered by Mikey Young with the bottom end Ron always felt the original LP lacked, the album also containing extensive liner notes by Mr. Rude himself, as well as some previously unpublished photos from the era.

BRUTE FORCE AND HIS DRUM The Weird and Wonderful World Of Brute Force And His Drum LP
2023 release. Gonzo psychedelic synth/drum madness from Down Under ca. 1974. Contains the mega-rare 7" single and four previously unreleased tracks from the same session. RIYL Bruce Haack, Residents, Cramps and all points between. Born in the U.S. but raised in Newcastle, New South Wales, John J. Francis fronted popular r'n'b, pop and pop-psyche bands The Sorrows, The John Francis Collexion, The Ghosts Of Electricity, and Magic across the mid-late 1960s. In 1970 he was approached by Dave Gibson to engineer, produce (and eventually manage) his Copperfield Sound Studios in the old Corn Exchange Building near Pyrmont Bridge in Pyrmont, Sydney. Through pure happenstance his unadorned 1972 singer-songwriter ode to alternative living "Simple Ben" was placed in the iconic surfer film Morning Of The Earth and has since become something of an Australian standard. Across 1972-1974 John also recorded four acclaimed LPs and had a Top Ten hit with "Play Mumma, Sing Me A Song." Recorded in studio downtime with friend and drummer Jim Yonge (from prog-rock band Pirana and a multitude of session work), Brute Force And His Drum was Francis' somewhat bizarre 'caveman with an Arp 2600' alter ego. Grunts, shouts and bawdy hollers punctuate mad synth riffs and prehistoric percussion. Two sides ("Weird And Wonderful" and "Strange") were released on a house label Copperfield 45 in 1974 and received sporadic airplay (even charting briefly in Canberra). That 45 now trades for hundreds of dollars amongst knowledgeable collectors of '70s Oz Psyche-Synth ephemera. Four further tracks were recorded during the same sessions ("King Of The Konga" was slated to be second, but ultimately unreleased, 45) and they make their first ever appearance here. John J. Francis left Copperfield Sound Studios in 1974 and would resurface two years later as the midnight-to-dawn DJ on Sydney's youth-orientated 2JJFM (a position he held for over a decade) until fading from public view and pursuing his lifelong passion for painting. After a long illness, John J. Francis passed away quietly in 2022 and Australia lost one of its most unique and under-appreciated musical figures.

ENJI Sonor CD
For a few fleeting moments during a sunset, the sky is cast a vivid shade of amber. A dramatic flare of color, a moment belonging to both the day and the night. It is within this vibrant, ephemeral world, that Mongolian-born, Munich-based Enji has written her new album Sonor. Sonor is a reflection of Enji's personal evolution and the complex emotions that accompany living between two worlds. The album's themes revolve around the unplaceable feeling of being between cultures, not as a source of conflict, but as a space for growth and self-discovery. Enji explores how distance from her traditional Mongolian roots has shaped her identity, and how returning home brings a heightened awareness of these changes. Backed by a band of renowned jazz musicians (Elias Stemeseder on piano, Robert Landfermann on bass, Julian Sartorius on drums and co-composer Paul Br?ndle on guitar), Enji isn't just revisiting tradition, she's distilling the feeling of home, of small joys that reveal their significance only when viewed from afar. Like a familiar song hummed by a parent, her music captures the essence of belonging, not tied to a single place, but to the emotions and memories that shape humanity.

From the whirlwind year of 1971 comes the sole album by Plum Nelly, an underrated gem in the world of U.S. progressive hard rock. Deceptive Lines is a masterclass in complex arrangements, jazzy touches, and searing proto-metal guitar riffs, drawing comparisons to legends like The Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd, and Black Sabbath. The album seamlessly blends heartfelt ballads with hard-hitting psych epics and electrifying guitar-driven jams. Despite the band's undeniable talent -- these young New Yorkers were barely out of their teens -- poor promotion left this record flying under the radar upon its original release. But this reissue is here to change that, giving Deceptive Lines the spotlight it deserves and ensuring this hard rock classic is no longer a hidden treasure.

BLUES CREATION Blues Creation LP
Formed in Tokyo in 1969, Blues Creation made their mark with this ultra-rare debut album, a raw and electrifying set of American blues covers. Featuring tracks originally by Sonny Boy Williamson, Chester Burnett, Memphis Slim, Willie Dixon, and others, it stands as the finest testament to Japan's deep-rooted love for the blues. The band went on to release several more records before evolving into Creation, but nothing quite captured the pure blues-rock intensity of their first outing.

SW. TekkNOthing I & II Cassette
When SW. AKA, Stefan Wust, first established SUED in 2011, their compelling, cosmic and anonymous material struck a rare chord, emanating far beyond the freeform Berlin underground in which it was written. Unknowingly, Los Angelean Oliver Bristow had established a parallel musical universe, founding the hyper-specific label Acid Test, inviting pioneering artists such as Donato Dozzy, Tin Man and Pepe Bradock to indulge in glorious interpretations of 303 control. Without compromise, these were records that quietly reinvigorated electronic music. Some years later, a new label, SWOB, unites Wust and Bristow in a very different landscape. And while it would be easy to transform the purity and integrity of this special alchemy into something like nostalgia, yearning for an alternative culture before influencers and against algorithms, SWOB endeavors to find inspiration in arguably tougher truths. Inspired by the "Outside Tekno" or "Outkast Techno" that emerged to subvert even back in the day, SWOB introduce the tekkNOthing trilogy, a new project from SW. Some years in development, tekkNOthing first began to take shape during the 2020 global pandemic, when "the underground" quickly began to mean something radically different once again. While hardly capitulating to the contemporary hammering of techno's most recent developments, tekkNOthing's first chapter quickly establishes a frenetic pace; tracks like "nuclearFALLoutX" and "paslolESmess" interlock and unfold at a tempo removed from that typically associated with SW. while "euroBSS" and "viscousHEAT" successfully experiment with a more guttural palette, veering far into a rejuvenating and previously uncharted leftfield. A resolutely human endeavor, the music of SW. is nonetheless written and recorded in the looming shadow of AI, whose free-form adoption of pop culture, hip-hop and techno reminds Wust of "when photography emerged in the 19th century." If not in competition, than taking inspiration from this landscape of new opportunity, tekkNOthing diversifies further with eight unpredictable tracks across Part II, taking in stuttering machine-funk on "crAMPDUNK," a freeform organ jam via "sonicENdo" and the inexplicable piston-percussive, post-punk exotica heard on "poorTENOOR#a#01" DJs with dual cassette decks skills might even find function in the more overtly floor-focused "DU ?NEhowSE#1take?" or "lookLOOK." The times may have changed, but the promise remains simple; more music, more freedom.

MILITARY GENIUS Scarred for Life LP
LP version. "Military Genius (aka songwriter/producer Bryce Cloghesy) delivers the follow-up to his atmospheric 2020 debut Deep Web. Scarred For Life is a genre-flexing mix of bass-heavy R&B, spaced dub, and jazz that is newly grounded within a more traditional rock framework and centered on lyricism. Lead single 'Darkest Hour' reflects a head first journey into the unknown. The starting point for Scarred For Life -- written, recorded, engineered, and produced by Cloghesy -- was to try and make sense of 'the toll taken by a life lived, and the complex beauty of a reality that can never be repeated or replicated.' Cloghesy faced his creative crosswords by embracing raw acoustic sounds and a 'human-first' approach to the recording process. Ideas were formulated and initially recorded onto cassette tape with minimal editing. Blemishes and artifacts were welcomed, adding to the record's realism and personal character. Thematically, the album can be approached on a number of planes. The title refers to a gruesome episode in his life in 2012, when he had a near-death experience after falling through a window. Add a debilitating series of panic attacks and depressive episodes to the charge sheet, and it's clear the record has a lot of heavy lifting to do. Cloghesy has been living in Joshua Tree since 2023, shortly after the birth of his son. A lot of the music feels sunbaked, and the low-key approach to arrangements may give a sense of being awestruck by the vast space and beauty of his new surroundings. The quietly subversive aspects of the compositions are deeply embedded, with recurring themes popping up across the work, for those who look closely enough. While Scarred For Life is a predominantly quiet and reflective album, it's also full of soul and positivity. It's expertly crafted to be: Cloghesy can make a song suddenly twist on an unexpected chord change, or introduce an instrument that heralds a change in emotional weather. The music constantly plays between darkness and lightness, tension, and release. The last track, fittingly, is called 'Into the Unknown,' a swelling lament boasting a beautiful, lifting melody line. It sounds like it's being played in a deserted bar and has an air of early Tom Waits about it. The steady beat adds hope and a guitar lick wraps itself around the lovely piano coda. More than any other track, it looks toward the future."

QUINIE Forefowk, Mind Me LP
Limited 180g black vinyl. Scottish singer Quinie releases her third album Forefowk, Mind Me with Upset The Rhythm. The record is largely sung in Scots language, one of Scotland's three official languages along with Gaelic and English. Quinie sings with a style inspired by Scottish Traveller singers. "I began singing unaccompanied Scots Song in 2015 after hearing Scots Traveller singer Sheila Stewart on the radio. Initially I felt like I shouldn't sing these songs because I'm not a Traveller, and I saw people around me doing that in a way that made me uncomfortable. But on the other hand this music made sense to me and I felt driven to learn. Over the years I have met Traveller friends who taught me that settled people sharing these songs could contribute to raising awareness. Scottish Travellers are marginalized and discriminated against in modern Scotland, despite being custodians of so many of our important traditions. So I started to perform them and tell this story. From there I built on my repertoire and started writing my own songs." To develop this record, Quinie travelled across Argyll with her horse. They went on a pilgrimage of sorts through the ancient landscapes of the West of Scotland to explore the interconnected relationships between people, ancestors, animals, and place. The album's vinyl release is accompanied by a book and film, documenting this unusual research process. Forefowk, Mind Me was recorded in August 2024 at The Big Shed in Highland Perthshire with support from Creative Scotland. Quinie is accompanied by an ensemble of musicians: Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh (viola), Oliver Pitt (duduk, bouzouki, percussion), Harry G?rski-Brown (small pipes, violin), and Stevie Jones (double bass, recording, and mixing). Each of these artists brings their own distinctive voice, bridging contemporary experimental practice with worlds of traditional and early music.

Whether your taste is focused on bossa jazz, samba, psych folk or soul, Valle has surely recorded a great album for you. Garra was originally released in 1971 and brought listeners Valle's classics such as "Com Mais De 30," "O Cafona," "Vinte E Seis Anos De Vida Normal," and the rare groove classic "Wanda Vidal." EAST OF UNDERGROUND East Of Underground LP
This wonderful and highly sought-after album was originally born from a promotional campaign by the U.S. Army to encourage recruitment. The recording perfectly captures the spirit of young America through songs written by Sly Stone, Curtis Mayfield, Funkadelic, and Burt Bacharach (via Isaac Hayes, of course). High-level soul and funk performed by brilliant anonymous musicians. Virtually impossible to find in its original edition, Vampisoul are now reissuing it once again thanks to a collaboration with Now Again. Pressed on 180g vinyl. Often, the most prized records by collectors hold unexpected stories. When they also feature incredibly high musical quality and only a few original copies are available, they become the holy grails of collecting. This is the case with this album, recorded by American soldiers stationed in Germany in the early '70s. During the Vietnam War, the U.S. Army organized a band competition among its soldiers. The winners would record a promotional album that would be distributed for free to encourage enlistment during such a turbulent time. The result was a double LP shared between the bands SOAP and East of Underground. Although East of Underground's repertoire consists of covers of soul and funk hits, the quality is surprisingly high: raw guitars, crushing drums, and brilliant vocal harmonies. When the label Now Again tried to reconstruct the story of East of Underground, they only managed to contact one of its members after digging through documents in the New York Library and collaborating with the U.S. Army.

LA RETRETA MAYOR/PABLO SCHNEIDER Torta De Pan 7"
Two awesome Latin jazz-funk gems for the dance floor, blazing with the rich brass section and percussion. Both songs are taken from mega-rare Venezuelan LPs released in 1976. Reissued on a 45 for the first time. La Retreta Mayor was founded and led by guitarist Alex Rodr?guez. "Torta de pan," reminiscent of recordings of classic US funk bands such as the JBs, was originally included in their only and hard-to-find LP. On the flip side comes "La venganza" that was part of a mega rare soundtrack written and recorded by Pablo Schneider for the obscure Venezuelan sexploitation film Sobre la Hierba? Virgen. Both songs were released on Discomoda in 1976 and the original records are almost impossible to find in any condition. How cool and handy is to have both songs together on a DJ-friendly 45? RANIL Y SU CONJUNTO TROPICAL/LOS WEMBLER'S DE IQUITOS Sonido Amazonico 7"
Prepare yourself to be amazed by these two stunning Peruvian cumbias by two central figures of the Amazonian music scene: Ranil y su Conjunto Tropical and Los Wembler's de Iquitos. Their recordings of the classic "Sonido Amaz?nico" are packed with psychedelic guitars and hard-hitting percussions. First time 45 reissue. Ra?l Llerena, aka Ranil, was one of the central figures of the Amazonian music scene. Based in Iquitos, he founded his own record label -- Producciones Llerena -- and shaped what is now known as the psychedelic sound of Amazonian cumbia. The few LPs and 45s released on his label are legendarily hard to find, let alone the condition. Some of them were issued under the name Ranil y su Conjunto Tropical. They recorded this hypnotic and percussive version of "Sonido amaz?nico" that was released as an LP-only track. Vampisoul now release it for the first time as a 45, to the delight of DJs and 7"s collectors. On the flipside is Los Wembler's de Iquitos, responsible for some of the most popular songs of the psychedelic cumbia genre, including the outstanding "Sonido Amaz?nico."

KALAHARI SURFERS Own Affairs LP
"This is an album made during a crucial period in South Africa's history during which there was a palpable feeling of a slow turning towards the collapse of the apartheid state side by side with an increasingly well-organized culture of resistance through the formation of the United Democratic Front (UDF) and various affiliated bodies. However, as a result, there was increased pushback from the state security establishment, a turning to dirty tricks and the formation of hit squads whose members murdered and tortured many of our friends and created chaos throughout South Africa as well as neighboring countries. This album is situated in this political environment however it took advantage of the new do-it-yourself music technologies available at that time. Technologies that made it possible to make and release records without interference from traditional record company executives. Two musician friends of mine pooled their resources after their respective bands had broken up. Ivan Kadey (National Wake) and Lloyd Ross (Radio Rats) built an eight-track recording studio control room and fitted it out in a second-hand caravan and called it Shifty... All the work on this album was completed there, mainly after hours and mostly alone.... Influences of 1970s progressive/kraut/and psychedelic rock combined with mbaqanga bass styles, early reggae/dub and Indian tabla rhythms. Stockhausen, early Zappa and Holgar Czukay were radio text and shredding influences, and Chris Cutler's band Henry Cow & Art Bears helped me see a way to political expression. Mostly though was the exciting post-punk and no-wave music coming through to us from Europe and America: bands like This Heat, the Mekons, Raincoats, Sonic Youth, and Pere Ubu were immensely important to me.... Most important at that time was the influence of sound recordings I had made and experiences garnered from working as a sound recordist on documentary films. These financed my work and later the studio and were consistent employment throughout the 1980s. Film work also enabled me to experience much of South Africa that was hidden from most. The track 'Independence Day' is a good example; drawn from some time spent in the rural homeland of Venda. This then was the first full length Kalahari Surfers album -- completed in summer of 1984 it was taken to EMI pressing plant but rejected by the cutting engineer as being 'political, pornographic and anti-religious.' Chris Cutler at Recommended Records took up the challenge and released the album through his label. He wrote the original liner note." -- Warrick Sony, 2025 Johannesburg

OSBOURNE, JOHNNY Mr. Budy Bye (Yellow Vinyl) LP
Yellow color vinyl. "Ultimate classic album including 'Budy Bye' the classic sleng teng killer track, 'Chopper', 'Fully Ranking' and 'No Ice Cream Sound'! Mr. Budy Bye is a sumptuous collection of Johnny Osbourne's work for the Jammys label across the 1980s, rounding up 12 hits, crucial singles, and the occasional album track. Of course, this includes the singer's breakout smash, 'Water Pumping,' which wowed the sound systems in 1983, but even before that Osbourne was unleashing a steady stream of potent numbers, and thankfully a number of them feature here. 'Folly Ranking' dates from 1980, and its smackdown of a notorious Kingston gang thrilled fans at home, and would entitle an album. Incidentally, it utilized a version of a rhythm Osbourne would ride for the Junjo Lawes-produced 'Fally Lover,' which also titled a full-length. But such was the singer's standing that he had always commanded top riddims from producers. 'Lend Me Your Chopper,' for example, versioned 'Real Rock,' a riddim that had yet to lose its shine. Of course, it helps that Jammys had some of the island's top talent laying down the backings, initially the Roots Radics and Earl 'Chinna' Smith's Hi Times Band, and once ragga took hold, Steely & Clevie and Mafia & Fluxy, all whipping the sound systems and dancehalls into a froth with their seminal sounds."

CULTURE Humble African LP
"By the time of this album's release, the group Culture was no more, the name being just an identifying tag for the group's original frontman, Joseph Hill (although he was backed by one of Culture's other original members on his summer 2000 tour). So Humble African is really a Joseph Hill album, and it's beautiful. Hill continues to write fine lyrics with even finer hooks. His unique, reedy voice is a heartfelt Rastaman chant, sometimes compared to Burning Spear. Starting with 'Why Am I a Rastaman?' the album's first four tracks are so purely melodic they wash over your senses like a waterfall. The production, by the team of Collin 'Bulby' York and Lynford 'Fatta' Marshall (of the Fat Eyes label) is superb. On 'Where Is the Love,' Marcia Griffiths' familiar warble joins Hill, while on 'Home Grown,' Morgan Heritage harmonizes, and on 'Poor People Hungry' there's a Tony Rebel toast. With Humble African Joseph Hill maintains his fine track record." --AllMusic
