CLARKE, JAMES Mystery Movie LP
2025 restock. Be With Records presents a reissue of James Clarke's Mystery Movie, originally released in 1974. Mystery Movie was originally billed as "modern, small group compositions in various moods. Ideally suited to the new Americanized style of T.V. and cinema film where music is used to create the mood and carry the action". So this collection covers a lot of bases, but it does so brilliantly and has absolutely no right to be such a fantastic listen from start to finish. Mystery Movie is best known for the slick drum breaks underpinning the top-notch jazz-funk chase theme "Car Patrol", the fuzz riffing and ARP soloing of "The Heavies" and the slow-mo strut of "Mystery Moll". "Study In Fear" and "Empty Streets" are horror soundtrack fodder of the finest sort. However, it's the understated, plaintive pieces that are the most rewarding. Ambient feels and strung-out fried-folk treats, full of cyclical na?ve melodies, this is music that evokes the "downlifting" Ronnie Lane and Ron Wood instrumentals from their great Mahoney's Last Stand (1976), as well as the beautiful soundtrack work of Jack Nitzsche and Ry Cooder. One might also recognize "Waiting Game" from being sampled by melodic downbeat masters Express Rising. Check "Relaxed Theme", "Quiet Girl", "Routine Procedure" and "Quietness Sustained" for a melodic, melancholic set, with the last three performed on just acoustic guitar and harp. Be With has worked with the hallowed KPM to re-issue ten of our favorites from across the KPM 1000 Series and the Themes International Music catalogue, currently under KPM stewardship. Whether it's killer soul-funk, sweet jazz-samba, scuzzed-up guitars or accidental Balearic beauty, these records include some of the most innovative work from some of the most talented composers and musicians of the 20th century. These records were never readily available, being originally released as a ready-made, affordable alternative to commissioning music for television and radio. Consequentially the originals have been unobtainable for decades by all but the most dedicated collectors. The audio for all ten re-issues comes from the original analog tapes and has been remastered for vinyl by Be With regular Simon Francis. The same care has been taken with the sleeves, handing the reproduction duties over to Richard Robinson, the current custodian of KPM's brand identity. 180 gram vinyl.

CORTEX Cortex LP
For the first time on vinyl a collection of tracks by Cortex, Alain Neffe's (Bene Gesserit, Insane Music) experimental spoken-word project originally released on tape in 1984. Cortex was never intended to be a conventional musical project. From the very beginning it was centered around free live performances. These encounters were stripped down and highly visual: Alain Neffe constructed a trapezoidal fluorescent white screen lit by black light. The narrator -- la r?citante -- was only illuminated in the face, while the rest of the stage remained in complete darkness. This created a ghostly effect where the audience could see only her glowing face and dark silhouette. She was a beautiful young woman, with a striking presence, and beside her, Alain Neffe played synthesizer and created sonic effects. The aim of Cortex was to deliver a minimalist and emotional experience, one centered on text and the voice of the narrator. Most of the tracks that exist today were recorded informally during rehearsals, using two microphones placed in front of Marshall amps, captured directly to cassette. La r?citante could choose a text from a collection of hundreds. Then, the music was improvised in real time around her voice. That process, simple, direct, and instinctive produced a body of work that's rough around the edges, but full of presence. It's not polished, but that's the point. Cortex was focused entirely on the connection between voice and sound.

KASPAR, JONATHAN Twofold: Ignite 12"
Known for his ability to create captivating, emotionally charged techno, Jonathan Kaspar returns to Cocoon Recordings with his third contribution Twofold. One, yet simultaneously two releases that once again showcase his extraordinary talent through condensed techno with a pinch of trance, weaving together driving rhythms and atmospheric textures in a way that feels innovatively progressive. Twofold: Ignite -- Drifting hypnotically, this might be the most fitting way to describe what Jonathan Kaspar unfolds here. The rolling percussion grooves seamlessly intertwine with the siren's spectral tone, gradually blending into the alchemy of "Yah" as it erupts into the mix. By the time the peak arrives, there's a raw intensity in the air -- the track seems to bend and stretch then drills and twists until it cracks, but never loses its sense of purpose and remains anchored in its deep, pulsating groove. On the flip side, "Silver Lines" stands as a counterpart, offering a contrast in both sound and atmosphere. With its minimalist arrangement, the track first nestles in gently, lulling the listener into its world -- only to tighten its grip as a synth sequence gradually opens its cut-off filter, slicing through the calm, drilling into the mind, and shifting the mood from tranquil to tense. Also available on color vinyl (COR 179ACOL-EP).

KASPAR, JONATHAN Twofold: Fade 12"
Known for his ability to create captivating, emotionally charged techno, Jonathan Kaspar returns to Cocoon Recordings with his third contribution Twofold. One, yet simultaneously two releases that once again showcase his extraordinary talent through condensed techno with a pinch of trance, weaving together driving rhythms and atmospheric textures in a way that feels innovatively progressive. Twofold: Fade -- Rooted in a minimalist rhythmic structure, "Power" takes listeners in a new direction, steadily building momentum as its energy billows upwards, with the intensity never wavering throughout. A large, dented, tinny tuba sounds imposingly as Jonathan blows louder and louder into the old thing, its raw, metallic tone instantly commanding attention. What an explosion in the break, leading listeners into a wild, almost chaotic energy, before Kaspar's meticulous attention to detail ensures that the shimmering synths feel perfectly placed, guiding to the absolute freak-out moment. After all the insanity, Jonathan Kaspar leads into a melodic, trancy after-hours mood with "1993," bringing a sense of release after the wild ride of the previous tracks. What a successful closing track to this outstanding release. With its melodic trance influences, it offers a soothing, almost nostalgic atmosphere, bringing a sense of calm and closure, a perfect moment of introspection and euphoria as the EP winds down.

PARASITE JAZZ Parasite Jazz LP
2025 repress; First release on the new French label Disques de la Spirale, featuring an experimental motorik-kraut-dub infused, semi-improvised live act built by Tamara Goukassova, Axel Larsen, and Th?o Delaunay (Panoptique, Succhiamo, Violent Quand on Aime, Radiante Pourpre) from Simple Music Experience; featuring Maoupa Mazzocchetti, Fiesta en el Vac?o, Ventre de Biche, Kyle Knapp (Deliluh). French non-jazz trio overflowed by Simple Music Experience's funders Tamara Goukassova, Th?o Delaunay and Alexandre Larcier, offering a 40 minutes of non-simple music madness, and navigating between a dozen of etiquettes from undecided space rock to motorik-infused-dub, medieval folk, cartoon trance; everything under the seal of psychedelia and half-improvisation. Built from drums, violin, springs, samples, reiterations, overdubs, trumpets, synths, distortions; and the appearances of Luna Cedr?n, Luca Retraite, Kyle Knapp (Deliluh), F. Mazzocchetti (Maoupa Mazzocchetti). Chimera embraced by three members of the Simple Music Experience label, also (co-) liable at one point for the acts of Axel Larsen, (The) Simplists, Violent Quand On Aime, Constance Chlore, T. Goukassova, Radiante Pourpre, Succhiamo, or Panoptique; Parasite Jazz emerged in 2016 in the smoke of a suspicious performance on Simple Music TV. An improvised and protean artifact at birth, the project settled down at the end of 2020 as a trio (Axel Larsen, Constance Chlore, Tamara Goukassova) in Marseille, then as a sextet during the Illusio festival in the summer of 2021. A series of concerts with a shifting line-up followed -- Kyle Knapp, Luca Retraite and Luna Cedr?n sometimes appeared and with them, spontaneous incandescences. This first series of collective hallucinations took the form of an album during a perilous recording at Grrrnd Zero (Lyon) in October 2021, and is completed by live recordings gleaned over the course of the summer episodes. For fans of Faust, Tomaga, Tony Conrad.

ERASMUS & THE END OF THE WORM, GIULIO Hard Sell LP
The Manchester-born, Brussels-shaped Giulio Erasmus plays with time, space, era, and the words that weave it all together. After two solo records released on Mangel Records and Absolute Fiction (plus a freshly unveiled live album from Meakusma 2024), he now -- joined by the quintet The End of The Worm -- presents his new offering: Hard Sell. A redigestion of forty years of underground English culture, collided by the urgency and freedom of Brussels' new wave, Hard Sell is an exploration led by a bassline that acts like a compass -- around which swirl whispers, cut-ups, abstractions, percussion bursts and sudden clearings. Together they shape a quiet narration, murmuring possible futures, indifferent to any of their consent.

PARK, DUNCAN Path To The Gallows LP
Duncan Park, from Johannesburg, South Africa, has been releasing music since 2017 on labels such as Ramble Records from Melbourne Australia and Aural Canyon from Texas, as well as numerous self-released digital releases. Duncan draws inspiration from Six Organs of Admittance, John Martyn, Nick Drake, Bert Jansch, Robbie Basho, Daniel Bachman, Spiral Joy Band, Pelt, Liam Grant; from jazz giants like Alice Coltrane and Charles Mingus, and also from extreme metal and noise. Path To The Gallows was recorded in Beeston, UK and Durban, South Africa straight to cassette and engineered by the wizard Rob V. It's Duncan's ninth "proper" album (but could also be his twelfth or sixth depending how you count them). Leaning into the lo-fi world, Gallows is a great representation of Duncan's expertise in playing, composition, variety, and open mindedness. The LP begins with the epic "A Moon Possessed Corpse," which starts with the classic handheld cassette handling racket, setting up the tone of the release, before sliding right into Duncan's frenetic fingering and pull-offs, like he's desperately trying to document something before heading off on a one-way trip, all while his dog moans in the background, knowing what's in store. In much the same way countless people have captured themselves on cassette, Duncan documents his mindset on to tape, with tracks like "Talking and Tuning," setting the recording in a particular time and place, while he tunes and warms up, getting ready for the rising waters that are coming next "Flood Warning" sees him picking up the banjo, staying in the American Primitive world, before heading into a more classical guitar jaunt with the aptly titled "Allegro Op. 50, No. 13." With "Leaving Beeston Blues," Duncan gets back to the slower paced primitive guitar work, with some swelling background keyboard work. "Thistle On the South Coast" is a short ditty on flute, with feelings and imagery of coastlines, either here or there. "Waltz No. 1" returns to the more classical realm, before eventually settling back into the raag stylings of "Weaver's Nest," which ends with over a minute of the sounds of insects, a wind chime, and the return of the dog, letting the listen catch their breath before turning the record over to start it all over again.

IGLO Transience 12"
Promising label newcomer IGLO returns to Figure with his second EP, building on a distinct sonic identity shaped by a background in classical music and live performance. Across five tracks, he further refines his mix of atmospheric depth, precise rhythms, and melodic nuance. This time, his own voice takes on a more central role, adding a personal and expressive layer to the productions. On opener "Computed Love," restrained, longing vocals blend into squelchy synths and minimal grooves -- hauntingly beautiful, yet gritty with rumbling machine funk. Determined follows with a more menacing tone, its sharp percussion cutting through a bleak, shadowy atmosphere -- perfect for building tension on the floor. On the flip, IGLO switches up the mood: "Enter the State" runs on hypnotic loops and chopped-up piano riffs, peppered with cheeky, spoken-word style vocals that nod to ghetto house traditions. It breaks into an irresistible, swinging groove that hits with full force. Offering a smooth counterpoint, "Enlighten" drifts into dubby terrain. Soft, ricocheting vocal snippets and warm chords conjure a hopeful, human glow -- a bouncy balm for the soul, without losing its forward momentum. With X49, IGLO deepens his connection with Figure and sharpens his unique voice -- equally grounded in introspection and dancefloor impact, continuing to shape a sound that's thoughtful, bold, and marks him as one to watch.

AUTARKIC Tahor LP
Autarkic is back with Tahor, a bold sonic collage where history, nostalgia, and raw emotion collide. This limited-edition vinyl release weaves together vintage samples, archival snippets, and hypnotic beats, crafting a personal and collective memory trip. 14 tracks of euphoric highs, hazy melancholy, and wry humor. The artist, DJ, and producer Autarkic (Nadav Spiegel), one of the most influential underground figures in recent years and a key player in TLV electronic scene, releases a new Hebrew-language album, available as a limited-edition vinyl and on digital platforms. Tahor is Autarkic's sixth album and his second in Hebrew. It is entirely composed of a mosaic of samples from his personal music collection, cuts from archival recordings, and historical references that hint at events that shaped him. The result is a personal and collective memory machine -- 14 tracks that take the listener on a journey through euphoric joy, subdued melancholy, and playful sarcasm. Tahor is a journey that emerges from Autarkic's private consciousness, offering a sober reflection on his unwavering insistence on being an artist who neither knows nor wishes to "play the game" for popularity ultimately finding peace with himself. Throughout the album, Autarkic ventures beyond his own mind into the outside world, confronting social and political realities and adding his own musical document about life in Israel.

HARDSPACE H007 12"
For the seventh installment of his Hardspace series, Len Faki selects three standout tracks from his personal vault -- polishing them up with signature flair for maximum impact. The A-side features a powerhouse mix of Jimmy Edgar?s "Strike." Len Faki brings extra drive and spatial depth to the mix: sizzling hi-hats pan sharply across a tight stereo field, vocal chops flicker in and out, and the groove is stripped, slick, and forceful. A subtle reverb treatment adds atmosphere without compromising punch. On the B-side, Faki dives into Robert Armani's 1994 album Right to Silence, revisiting two Chicago-style jacking tracks that are nodding to the Dance Mania era. Up rides on a fierce hi-hat shuffle and a pounding stomp, centered around a bold vocal loop that captures the rough, battle-cry attitude of classic Chicago jack tracks. Faki's edit sharpens the angles and tightens the structure, giving the track even more bite. "Road Tour" originally leaned on a harsh, detuned lead synth. Len?s Hardspace version removes the abrasive top line and lets the looping arp take center stage, which subtly shifts in tone and pans across the stereo field. The groove doesn't push forward so much as it sways side to side, creating a warped sense of motion. A pitched-up vocal samplehalf command, half tease-injects just the right dose of jack attitude. HS007 channels the raw, functional energy of vintage Chicago trax through Faki's modern lens -- respectful to its roots, but fully tuned for today's sound systems.

TOGASHI & MASAYUKI TAKAYANAGI, MASAHIKO Pulsation LP
2025 repress. "On May 27th 1983, drummer Masahiko Togashi and guitarist Masayuki Takayanagi, two pivotal figures in the Japanese free jazz scene that had been working together since the 1960's, performed and record this unique set at Zojoji Hall in Tokyo. At the time, Japanese jazz musicians were trying to find their own voice, welcoming creative elements coming in from the USA and Europe. The two musicians were at the fore-front of this generation, with Takayanagi developing his own guitar style through influences of mainstream and more extreme jazz, and drummer Togashi had developed a unique approach to drums and percussions, using silence as an integral part of music making, also due to an accident that forced him on a wheelchair after 1970. The record is divided in two tracks ('Inner Pulsation' and 'Outer Pulsation'), each one about 22 minutes in length, mirroring the original LP sides. The performance can be regarded as a single piece though, with a clearly symmetrical structure, even if the musicians cover much musical ground over the course of the album. The extreme abstractness of the music guarantees many possibilities, but the main themes here are pure sound and space, investigated through a massive use of silence, ever-changing dynamics and slow structural developments unfolding with a mysterious musical logic. Originally released on iconic Japanese label Paddle Wheel and out-of-print for a very long time, the album has become a very sought-after collector's item and we are glad to bring this back on vinyl in collaboration with King Record Co."

GRATEFUL DEAD/JOHN OSWALD Grayfolded 3LP
"Grayfolded is literally a hundred or so great nights rolled into one extraordinary extended high. Gorgeous sonic origami." --Rolling Stone"An extended time-warped psychedelic jam that is meticulously hallucinatory." --New York TimesThis deluxe 2025 vinyl edition of The Grateful Dead's Grayfolded was pressed at Optimal in Germany, known for their high-end audiophile pressings. In 1993 Canadian composer John Oswald was invited by Phil Lesh to transform historical recordings of the Dead into something new, along the lines of what they had attempted in their Anthem of the Sun album. Oswald chose to focus on the Dead's Dark Star, which, over the course of a quarter century, they had expanded and transformed in myriad ways in live performances. Oswald was given access to the Vaults, where over the course of a month, with the guidance of the Dead's resident archivist Dick Latvala, he collected 105 performances, which through the following year he formed, folded, fondled, and finessed into a kaleidoscopic unstuck-in-time documentary of the Grateful Dead in some of their most psychedelic, symphonic, and rocking excursions -- a singular 110-minute fantasy performance. Here it is, Deadheads, the ultimate Dark Star. Deluxe audiophile pressing cut in Toronto under the watchful ears of John Oswald. Elaborately printed packaging in a heavy-duty triple gatefold jacket includes liner notes by musicologist Rob Bowman featuring interviews with Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, and Robert Hunter plus six "time maps" which chart the source concerts of Dark Star. Music performed by The Grateful Dead (c) Grateful Dead Productions Inc. & Ice Nine Publishing Inc. Taken from over 100 performances of Dark Star recorded between 1968 and 1993. Built, layered and "folded" to produce one large, new re-composed Dark Star. Original recordings of the Grateful Dead in performance have been processed using Plunderphonic techniques. John Oswald is best known as the creator of the music genre Plunderphonics, an appropriative form of recording studio creation which he began to develop in the late sixties. This has got him in trouble with, and also generated invitations from major record labels and musical icons. Meanwhile, in the '90s he began, with several commissions from the Kronos Quartet, to compose scores for classical musicians and orchestras, the latest of which is an orchestral work, commissioned by the BBC, combining aspects of The Beatles, Gyrgy Ligeti, and Terry Riley. He also improvises on the saxophone in various settings, dances, and is a successful visual artist, best known for the chronophotic series Stillnessence.

UPSETTERS, THE Return Of Django (White Vinyl) LP
"Lee 'Scratch' Perry & The Upsetters' classic Return of Django. Lee Perry had already been making name in the Jamaican music scene for about a decade before Return of Django hit the UK charts in 1969. ANDY AND MARCIA GRIFFITHS, BOB Young Gifted And Black (Orange Vinyl) LP
"Bob and Marcia were a Jamaican vocal duo, that consisted of Bob Andy and Marcia Griffiths. Griffiths & Andy achieved international fame with their rendition of Nina Simone's 'Young, Gifted and Black.' The song resonated deeply with audiences in the UK, selling over half a million copies and earning Bob & Marcia a place on Top of the Pops. It reached the number #5 spot in the UK charts. This album is packed with classic tracks and cover versions -- gems like 'It ain't me babe,' 'Keep the customers satisfied' and 'Put a little Love in your heart.' Their popularity soared, and the duo continued with hits like 'Pied Piper,' bringing reggae to European audiences during a time when the genre was still emerging on the global stage. Their success was not just commercial but symbolic, as they inspired pride and cultural appreciation among Jamaican communities worldwide. BRAEN/PEYMONT Paese Sotto Inchiesta LP
At the end of the '60s, the production of soundtracks for small and big classics of Italian cinema was joined by another business which has proved to be less profitable but more creative and, in best case, free from the constraints imposed by clients on duty: the composition of music libraries. Almost all of the artists for the eighth art have finalized at least one or more music libraries. Names famous and not, old and young composers, real outsiders and meteors, usually hidden behind pseudonyms: this is the case, for example, of Braen and Peymont. The first needs no introduction, it was the one adopted by the former arranger, multi- instrumentalist, singer and composer Alessandro Alessandroni. The second is closely linked to the mysterious American composer, but resident in Italy, David Hoyt Kimball. The two are authors in different measure of an interesting album with an experimental background, Paese Sotto Inchiesta (1971), originally published by Flirt Records. The titles of the tracks appear in connection with the socio-cultural climate of Italy after 1968 and can be relocated as a background for journalistic-like images. The latter is a hypothesis not supported by facts, but some titles seem to be referred to the perception of a subsisting economic backwardness of the southern regions compared to the other ones; to a situation of collective tension, thanks to the global revolutions; in addition to the new concerns with an ecological background. Overall, the seventeen tracks on the album are mostly "dirty," characterized by an even atonal setting, with long repetitions in a noisy key, more fundamental reverbs and echoes for the different keyboard instruments. In a few words, abstract sounds, some guitar notes, echoes of Gruppo Di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, flute melodies and proto- ambient intuitions. Composers like Alessandro Alessandroni and David Hoyt Kimball deserve to be rediscovered. Following the essence of the work, for this press, MPI release a 100% recycled vinyl that reduce waste, minimize environmental impact and support the planet.

SYSTEM OLYMPIA M3 Opera EP 12"
Includes 30x60cm poster. Green-marbled vinyl. London-based producer, vocalist, and DJ System Olympia unveils her latest project, M3 Opera, a five-track EP that fuses her signature sensual synth soundscapes with a bold conceptual twist. Dropping via her own Okay Nature Records, the EP features a unique collaboration with five distinct female vocalists, each lending their voice to a standalone "act" in this sonic drama. Inspired by the sleek power of the BMW M3 and the theatrical grandeur of opera, M3 Opera reimagines the EP format as a multi-act narrative. Each song accelerates through a different emotional gear -- romance, tension, liberation -- while the lush pads, gritty drums, and dreamy melodies System Olympia is known for provide the horsepower. "This is about motion and drama," System Olympia explains. "The M3 is that late-night drive, the pulse of the road. The opera is the story unfolding with every voice, every act." The EP showcases an all-female lineup of vocalists, each bringing their own flavor to the journey. From sultry confessions to soaring crescendos, the tracks weave together a tapestry of feminine energy that's both intimate and expansive -- think Delta of Venus meets horsepower under green neon lights. Following the success of 2024's Sanctified EP with Working Men's Club and her acclaimed NTS Radio residency, M3 Opera solidifies System Olympia's reputation as a visionary who blends retro-futuristic sounds with raw emotion. The EP promises to be a ride worth taking, whether cruising the streets or losing yourself on the dance floor. Featuring Reinen, Tatyana, Daisybelle, Legzdina, and Ms Ray.

EARTH SOUNDS NOW Convergence Cassette
Earth Sounds Now is a collective made up of community activist and musician Stefan Christoff, drummer, composer, scholar, and bandleader Asher Gamedze, music producer Nicol?s Jaar, pianist and composer B?sra Kayik?i, and novelist, poet, and sound performer Kaie Kellough. Over 13 months, they met online to share sounds, readings, writings, and drawings, resulting in Convergence -- a project reflecting their collaborative process. Each member submitted different works, including paintings, poetry, field recordings, and musical experiments, taking turns responding to each other's contributions. Member Stefan Christoff highlights the importance of listening in these sessions: "Sometimes we would listen all together, so there was also silence on the online call as we all listened on headphones to the sounds from our respective places. I am underlining listening here, which the world needs much more of." These submissions were organized into a sound library and finally mixed into record format by Jaar, capturing the essence of their exchanges across global soundscapes.

PARISH, SHANE Solo at Cafe Oto LP
"Melodies are alive, remolded and reshaped in each performance. Guitarist Shane Parish embraces this continual evolution by transcribing songs from across musical genres, instruments, and eras for solo guitar. Albums like 2024's Repertoire, which features 14 songs across jazz, folk, and electronic music and played on acoustic guitar, showcase his skill in transcription, as does his work transforming Bill Orcutt's Four Guitars from a multi-tracked solo project into a quartet played live by four musicians. His practice is that of musical curiosity and technical virtuosity, highlighting all the ways a good song can be unraveled and sewn back together into something new. On Solo At Cafe Oto, Parish presents six poignant ballads reimagined for solo electric guitar as played at London's legendary venue in fall 2023. A European tour with the Bill Orcutt Guitar Quartet brought him to the venue; they did a one-off show at Cafe Oto in which each member of the group played a solo set. It ended up being a special night, one of those shows in which there's magic in the room forged by a shared love of music. Many of the songs Parish chose to perform that evening hold a sense of mysteriousness, something immersive and intriguing to get lost in. He picked them -- some of which had stayed with him for many years -- because of their attention to atmosphere. It's a characteristically eclectic vision: Three songs are by John Jacob Niles, a Kentucky balladeer whom Parish had developed a deep knowledge of over recent years, two are by English songwriters, Anne Briggs and Shirley Collins, and one is by Angelo Badalamenti, known for his unique ability to capture the dreamy and surreal darkness of David Lynch's storied worlds. Parish's transcriptions highlight how each of these songs create a mood in their timeless melodies, and invite us to share in them."

ETHNIC HERITAGE ENSEMBLE Impressions LP
2025 restock, originally released in 2023. "At the beginning of its formation, the ensemble functioned as a jazz group with a wide variety of instruments. During a tour of Europe, the group's line-up was reduced to just three members, with El'Zabar on percussion and two wind instruments. This line-up, born out of necessity, became the ensemble's signature sound. 'We were very scared, having such a unique instrumentation. But we were far from home, we were 20 years old and we had to survive. And we developed a language and a formula that allowed us to play with non-traditional instrumentation all these years,' El'Zabar recounted. 'I didn't realize this until last year when someone said, 'You started the band in 1973,' and I said, 'Yes.' ' And they said, 'Well, won't it be 50 years next year?' reports Zabar, laughing. 'I feel very grateful for the experiences I've had and the musicians I've been lucky enough to work with. If your work is of value to others, then you feel you have served. That has been the main thing for me as an artist.'"

BANG Mother/Bow To The King LP
"Formed in 1969, BANG is a highly influential, early hard rock band that's often cited as helping to create the genre of heavy metal itself. Once considered Americas answer to Black Sabbath, BANG's first significant break came when the Philadelphia band gate-crashed a Rod Stewart show in Orlando in 1971 convincing promoters to put them on as the warm up act. With the interest of the major concert promoters of the day, East Coast Concerts and Concerts West, the band soon became major contenders in the hard rock arena. The 1971 self-titled debut album BANG is considered an important forerunner to the early doom metal genre. This was followed by the monumental Mother/Bow To The King album in 1972 which should have exploded. Changes in personnel at their record company and an externally forced line-up change led to frustration and bewilderment before releasing their swan song 1973 album Music. Undoubtedly the heaviest of America?s 'proto-metal' bands from the period, BANG also had a strong sense of melodic power, which should have led them to much bigger things. Highly regarded as a cult act by many for years, it?s now time for this truly amazing rock band to be enjoyed by a new audience. As can be heard, the versatility and songwriting skills of BANG were (are) second to none."

DETTMANN, MARCEL Running Back Mastermix: Marcel Dettmann - Edits & Cuts Cassette
A DJ, producer and significant figure in contemporary electronic music, Marcel Dettmann steps forward to contribute to Running Back's ongoing Mastermix series. Whereas previous editions of Mastermix have taken an ear to the sound of lapsed, legendary clubs such as Wild Pitch and Front, Dettmann's curation deftly captures the man himself in ongoing perpetual motion, raiding the vault for his own precision-tooled edits, long-employed on dancefloors to devastating effect. The trip begins with a simple pitch-shift skywards, transforming Identified Patient's creeping "The Female Medical College of Pennsylvania" into a peak-time freakout, before an alternate take on Toctronic's "Bis uns das Licht vertreibt" emerges from the vaults for the first time. Dating from 1995, and one of Dettmann's all-time favorites, Cristian Vogel's "Untitled" clambers back into the box with respectable cuts, while John Bender's "Victims of A Victimless Crime" kicks off the flip sporting a new arrangement. A few subtle edits to Clark's perilously funky "Dirty Pixie" leads to Dettmann's remix of Junior Boys. Next comes Experimental Products' explosive proto-electro anthem "Who Is Kip Jones?", empowered from pricey Discogs purgatory with just the slightest of tweaks. It's deservedly sandwiched between the guiding influences of Chicago and Detroit in the form of Mutant Beat Dance's raw "The Human Factor" and a shimmering new version of previous solo production "Water," featuring close friend and Ostgut Ton ally, Ryan Elliot. Severed Heads' iconic "We Have Come To Bless This House" emerges with mere nips and tucks, while Nitzer Ebb's "Shame" is significantly reimagined as a highwire act of rhythm and tension, setting up a sensual second take on a 2017 remix of "Limbo" from Swiss synth heroes, Yello. Core musical memories are shaken and stirred with a context-shifting take on Frank Duval's emotional classic "Ogon," while Ian North's "Sex Lust You" and Ford Proco's notable Coil collaboration "Expansion Naranja" effectively throb with only minor adjustments, respectfully imagined as "shadow versions". Meanwhile, a simple breakbeat lifts Albert Kuningas's "Astraalprojektio" in the direction of wide-eyed dancefloors, while a fresh take on K-Alexi Shelby's "Season of The Real" inexplicably emerges somehow even funkier than before. The conclusion of the compilation leads back to Das Tier from the prolific experimentalist Conrad Schnitzler, whose swirling synths and hypnotic vocals are duly tightened by Dettmann.

VISIBLE SOUND Nikola Tesla's Mattergy CD
"In 1990, CM von Hausswolff, while on a tour in the United States with Karkowski/Bilting, PHAUSS, and The Hafler Trio, visited Dale Travous' CCD2 Laboratory located in the basement of the Kalberer Hotel Supply building in Seattle. Travous, who had a keen interest in the scientific and artistic contributions of Nikola Tesla, had constructed a large Tesla coil in his laboratory. During this visit, CM von Hausswolff recorded a demonstration of the coil, and the resulting sound was incorporated into PHAUSS' composition, 'Nothing But The Truth,' which was released on compact disc in 1991 by the Anckarstr?m label in Gothenburg, Sweden, and later re-released in 2022 by Room40 in Brisbane, Australia. This meeting with Travous also led to a collaboration involving The Hafler Trio/PHAUSS and Annie Sprinkle, aimed at advocating for NATO's withdrawal from Iceland. The project utilized two Megavolt Tesla Transmitters, which included four Hewlett Packard function generators, a laser modulator, an SW receiver, and metal runes, culminating in a video and a series of photographs taken by Arthur S. Aubry. The sounds produced by these Tesla coils have been integrated into this production. In 1973, the Federal Electrical Commission in Mexico City was involved in the production of a television program for Canal 4 (Channel 4) designed to highlight Nikola Tesla's sound experiments with turbines and wireless resonant electric circuits. This initiative was named 'Visible Sound.' Ultimately, due to concerns regarding low viewership, the decision was made not to air the show. Since then, it has been classified as 'Lost Media,' archived within annals of the now-defunct Canal 4 in Mexico City. During the sound experiments, members of the Commission employed early synthesizers and circuit boards to capture and manipulate the vibrations produced by these devices. Fast forward to 2024, Telekinett successfully obtained these important recordings, which had been preserved on magnetic tape by a former employee who had worked on their optimization and mastering."

PDQB The Electrifying Dojo 12"
Congratulations, Electro connoisseur! You are about to enter the Electrifying Dojo. A place where Sifu pdqb and Sensei Rolando teach a transcendental, one-of-a-kind neo-futuristic martial art that does not use hands but something far more delicate and powerful: MUSIC. Blending martial discipline with the art of electronic music is something deeper, something that no words can properly describe. The skills you will be taught here are feeling music, embodying it. pdqb and Rolando believe that true harmony comes when the mind, body, and soul are united in the sounds that vibrate through the air. The sounds of this first lesson are soft at first, almost imperceptible. But then they grow into a delicate, trembling melody that fills the room with an emotion that is difficult to place. It isn't sadness, nor is it joy, but something in between. The more you listen, the more you will be aware of something strange: tears will fall gently, silently. They are not forced, nor are they out of sorrow -- it is simply because the music feels so beautiful. Your deepest emotions will be triggered, every note will carry out an old truth, a secret truth, buried deep in your heart. Another quality drop from Synaptic Cliffs. Four dark and beautiful signature-style Electrocognition journeys from pdqb, playful with a modern twist while still remaining loyal to its roots. And on the flipside: two stunning, classic Rolando remixes, each with the potential to be the crowning moment in the club.

COLLAGE Motel d'amour LP
When The Outer Edge first collaborated with Collage member Markus Kammann on the EP project Mit den Puppen tanzen, it never imagined what would follow: Kammann approached the label with a completely unreleased full-length album by his former band. Upon receiving the first three preview tracks, The Outer Edge was floored. One of them was "Nachtcaf?" -- a track that kicks off with a funky bassline layered over the punchy rhythm of a Roland TR-808. Add shimmering synths and Katrin A. Kunze's sharp, distinctive vocals. For a label dedicated to rediscovering lost treasures, this was exactly what it'd been searching for. Motel d'amour is a concept album, offering a sharp, vibrant perspective from a confident, intelligent, and radiant young woman eager to experience nightlife, love, and music. Kunze's lyrics paint vivid scenes of flirtation, encounters with men, the pulse of nightlife, love, one-night stands, and more. Rarely has a German album from that era captured emotional nuance and social dynamics so insightfully. Without veering into the overly personal, Kunze's direct, daring lyrical style was groundbreaking at the time -- and remains refreshingly bold today. While German listeners will fully appreciate the lyrical depth, the music speaks volumes on its own. Kunze's words are masterfully complemented by the production of Markus Kammann and J?rgen Grah. Each track is tightly composed, catchy, and full of character. While many German bands at the time leaned into rock, Kammann drew from the deep grooves of Earth, Wind & Fire, The Isley Brothers, Brothers Johnson, The Commodores, and the electro-futurism of Afrika Bambaataa's "Planet Rock" and "Looking for the Perfect Beat." The result: tracks with unmistakable electro-funk flair, powered by the classic 808 drum sound. It's a record that fits into adventurous DJ sets but also rewards a full, start-to-finish listen. A note on audio quality: Sadly, the original master tapes were lost. The tracks were restored from a vintage TDK cassette. Thanks to modern digital tools, The Outer Edge were able to remaster them to a high standard -- but in some songs light distortions remain.

FEX Skyscraper CD
The incredible story that began with "The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet" (TMMS) now enters an exciting new chapter: Skyscraper, the debut album by FEX. Skyscraper features ten original tracks recorded in the early to mid-1980s -- carefully re-transferred, remastered, and brought back to life. The album cover, designed by Darius S., brings the story full circle. Darius is the very person who preserved the now-iconic track "Subways of Your Mind" by recording it from NDR radio in the mid-'80s. Without him, FEX may never have been discovered. FEX's debut opens with its namesake, "Skyscraper" -- a brooding, previously unreleased track the band once described as part of their "psychedelic phase." With haunting synth-helicopter textures and deep guitar riffs, it immediately sets the tone and raises tension. The release flows naturally into the energetic and fully remastered studio version of "Subways of Your Mind." This version of the TMMS was long believed to be from a smaller home studio, but was actually recorded in November 1984 at Hawkeye Studios in Ganderkesee, near Hamburg. R?ckwardt's lyrics point to greed and criticizes materialism, and while the music leans toward pop sensibilities, it carries a raw, fractured edge. From a rehearsal tape comes "Dirty Slapstick," its urgency intact. Missing keyboard parts were later reconstructed by Michael H?drich using his original DX7 synthesizer. The album closes where the legend began -- with the original radio recording of "Subways of Your Mind" from Darius' cassette. Digitally transferred using a high-end Revox machine and carefully remastered, it now has its long-deserved official release. The cover features a photo of the Eichenberg Bunker in Kiel.

DJ JM moov 12"
When the people just gotta dance right now, Turbo Recordings will drop everything to fast-track the hottest, rawest music the moment the download links hit. Such is the case with rising Lithuanian superstar DJ JM's moov EP, which contains five tracks so good they needed to hit today's streets today. To ensure the mind-churning efficiency and logistical brilliance needed to pull off this kind of turnaround, label life-giver Tiga slept and tried to bathe at the office for five straight days before being hospitalized for "caring too much." The result is a thrilling showcase for DJ JM, perhaps the label's favorite current artist working in any medium. His grit-rich beats, his melodist's ear, his sound design -- sometimes it's all too much to bear. But bear it and grin you shall, and as you have the night of your life every night from now into the future untold, take a moment to spare a grin in the knowledge that somewhere there is a man hooked up to a Gatorade IV who wanted all of this for you and could not bear for you to wait a moment longer.
