PARKER BAND, BOBBY New George's San Rafael 1993 2CD
The live sessions presented here were recorded on October 13th 1993 at New George's, a nightclub and concert venue located in San Rafael, California. There's an oft-recounted story how the Beatles used Bobby Parker's riff from his "Watch Your Step" for their hit "I Feel Fine" and Led Zeppelin used it on "Moby Dick" without credit on their second album. That song is of course featured here, which also includes several tracks together with Carlos Santana guesting on guitar. Bobby passed on in October 2013 aged 76 following a heart attack. He left a small but impressive body of blues recordings for listeners to enjoy.

FAME WITH COUNT BASIE BAND, GEORGIE Live in 1968 CD
The previous two sets in this series of live broadcast CDs from Georgie Fame covered the years 1964 up to 1967 and this one picks up the story from the start of '68. So, what changes did that year bring in Georgie's music? Impossible to ignore is the release of "The Ballad Of Bonnie And Clyde" in December '67. Was Georgie ignoring his roots? Not so if you examine this album. It starts off with Georgie's BBC TV show accompanied by the Count Basie Band and continues with Swedish and British radio recordings of Georgie with his Band, a tight eight-piece unit featuring jazz and Blue Flames luminaries such as Eddie Thornton, Johnny Marshall, John McLaughlin and Jon Hiseman.

KUNTARI Mutu Beton LP
Indonesian duo Kuntari make music that's so distinctive, they had to devise their own genre: primal-core. On Mutu Beton, multiinstrumentalist Tesla Manaf and percussionist Rio Abror dialog with both history and their tropical surroundings in Bandung, West Java's mountainous capital. Using the cornet and hulusi, a free reed instrument made from a bottle gourd and bamboo pipes, Manaf echoes the bellows of local elephants, orangutans and rhinos, grazing Abror's ancestral Indonesian rhythms with potent overdriven riffs and evocative microtonal chimes. It's music that's profoundly atmospheric and simultaneously raw, recorded live to fully encapsulate the dynamic and deeply human interaction between the two seasoned players. There are elements of sludge metal, noise and post-hardcore, references to traditional folk music and jazz, and gestures towards sound art, 20th century minimalism and dark ambient, but what Kuntari do is completely idiosyncratic -- it's hardly surprising it needed a similarly unique categorization. Manaf started Kuntari as a solo project, debuting in 2020 with Black Shirt Attracts More Feather and animating his nimble instrumental improvisations with bold electronic processes and booming synthetic drums. And by the time he recorded 2022's acclaimed Last Boy Picked, his approach had evolved significantly; prioritizing organic sounds, he played prepared cornet and piano, bringing in additional percussionists to help devise a ritualistic rhythm section. Abror was one of those performers, and ended up sticking around, playing on 2023's furious LARYNX/STRIDULA, the stylistic precursor for Mutu Beton. At this stage, the duo have racked up a litany of accolades and collaborated with a spectrum of like-minded artists, from noise deity Keiji Haino to fellow Indonesian free-thinker Rully Shabara, who's best known for his work with Senyawa and avant-garde supergroup Osmium. Mutu Beton plays like a lap of honor, showcasing their most kinetic and most feral recordings to date. Kuntari surpass their own high standards, folding history and geography in on itself and suggesting a trailblazing Indonesian cultural movement that's not restricted by highbrow Western conventions. It's not just automation and technology that drives progression, it's interaction and observation. And there's nothing more primal, or revolutionary, than that.

MAGALETTI & YPY, VALENTINA Kansai Bruises LP
Drummer, percussionist and composer Valentina Magaletti (Moin, Holy Tongue, Vanishing Twin) has combined forces with musician, producer and composer YPY (aka Koshiro Hino of Goat) for their LP, Kansai Bruises, out via AD 93. The pair crash through Osaka's neonlit streets with abrasive drums and handcrafted Japanese electronics that hit like pavement against skin. This is bliss carved from bruises -- hope and fear tangled in metallic percussion while dreams of pesto float through sake-soaked alleyways.

LARD Pure Chewing Satisfaction LP
LP version. "Lard's Pure Chewing Satisfaction is the second landmark album of the industrial-hardcore collision between vocals of Jello Biafra with the patented wall of noise assault and studio wizardry of Ministry founders Paul Barker and Al Jourgensen! Originally released in 1997, Pure Chewing Satisfaction is a dark, frightening look at everything wrong in America, and it rings as true now as it ever has. Lyrically its pessimistic and apocalyptic, tackling topics like looking for work, the legacy of the Me Generation and their failures, to environmental disasters. Sonically, the album is an avalanche of both real and electronic drums, menacing effects galore, and layers of machine gun guitars. Not quite punk rock, nor completely industrial -- this is Lardcore for the people! REVOLUTIONARIES Dub Expression LP
"Recorded and mixed at Duke Reid's storied Treasure Isle studio by Duke's nephew, young engineer Errol Brown, Dub Expression collects dubbed up treatments of seminal rockers rhythms crafted for Marcia Griffiths, John Holt, Dennis Brown and more. Propelled by the drums of Lowell 'Sly' Dunbar, the appropriately named Revolutionaries (with their tough and radical sound) were the ideal group to reflect a turbulent period in Jamaican politics. While the band's personnel remained fluid -- depending on which players were available and frequently overlapping with other seminal sessions bands such as Joe Gibbs' The Professionals and Bunny 'Striker' Lee's The Aggrovators -- The Revolutionaries were most known as Channel One's house band in the mid to late '70s. The decision to top-bill The Revolutionaries, rather than feature an individual artist as was customary at the time, was made by Kingston's most celebrated female producer, Sonia Pottinger who shrewdly determined that The Revolutionaries' name alone would be a can't miss selling point. One only needs to spend a minute with Dub Expression to hear why. Originally released in 1978 on Pottinger's High Note label, Dub Expression represents the essence of dub in its purest form. An absolute classic. Liner notes by JR Gonne."

DADAWAH Peace And Love - Wadadasow LP
2025 repress. "Michael George Henry (aka Ras Michael and, for this lone release, Dadawah) was born in 1943 in Saint Mary Parish, in northeastern Jamaica. Henry was raised in a Rastafari community when the religious movement was still in its infancy and marginalized within Jamaica. It was there that he began performing Nyahbinghi, the Rastafarian devotional music that combines the influences of African drumming and Black gospel. Henry found himself in Kingston in the late 1950s where he worked for Coxsone Dodd at the legendary Studio One. By 1968, he had formed the group Sons of Negus and the first overtly Rasta record label, Zion Disc. As Rasta filtered into the mainstream, Henry released more music including albums for Trojan, Dynamic and Grounation labels. Originally released in 1974, Peace And Love - Wadadasow is Dadawah's magnum opus. Produced by Lloyd Charmers, the album features slinky basslines, wah-wah guitar, hypnotic keyboards, dubbed-out studio trickery and, of course, the propulsive drumming and rhythmic chanting characteristic of Nyahbinghi. Antarctica Starts Here presents the first widely available domestic release of Peace And Love - Wadadasow. This reissue is part of an archival series that focuses on Trojan's essential '60s and '70s catalogue. Liner notes by JR Gonne."

ANDY, HORACE Get Wise LP
"With his honeyed falsetto, Horace Andy has long been considered one of roots reggae's most inimitable voices. His signature tune, 'Skylarking,' is one of a handful of songs that can be instantly recognized by even the most casual of reggae fans. Making his debut with producer and mentor Phil Pratt at the age of sixteen, Andy's expressive vocal style is immediately distinctive, bearing the soulful influence of American artists Otis Redding and Smokey Robinson as well as fellow countryman Alton Ellis. 1975's Get Wise collects a series of singles produced by Pratt including versions of hits 'Money, Money' ('Root Of All Evil') and 'Zion Gate' ('I Don't Want To Be Outside'). Recorded between 1972 and 1974, these sides were captured at legendary studios Channel One, Black Ark, Dynamic Sound and Randy's Studio 17 with house engineers Ernest Hoo Kim, Lee Perry, Carlton Lee and Errol Thompson at the helm. Originally released on Pratt's Sunshot label, the album doubles as a showcase for The Soul Syndicate Band, a typically ad-hoc session group which featured Sly & Robbie, Aston 'Family Man' Barrett and Earl 'Chinna' Smith, among others. Get Wise delivers ten tracks of Andy's finest material and should be in the collection of any aficionado of the classic '70s Kingston sound. Liner notes by JR Gonne."

SORCERERS, THE Other Worlds and Habitats CD
The Sorcerers' latest long player lands in perfect time for the summer, offering a further progression into their unique take on Ethio-inspired jazz. Other Worlds and Habitats is, of course, released on ATA Records and is blessed with the analogue recording and painstakingly loving production listeners have come to expect from this boutique studio. This, The Sorcerers eagerly anticipated fourth LP, follows on from the success of I Too Am A Stranger. Never ones to stop moving forward, and ever vigilant to avoid the realm of pastiche, The Sorcerers see the Ethiopique sound as a building block for their natural progression as a group, but a block that sits at the base of a much larger, ever expanding, structure, The addition of keyboardist Johnny Richards, whose use of the Jen 73 piano, Mellotron and Farfisa Compact Duo, alongside the core members of the group, has opened some exciting doors for The Sorcerers, fusing the future looking optimism of the late '60s and '70s (when artists began to experiment with the new electronic technology and synthesizers becoming more readily available) and more traditional sounds. Taking inspiration from Ethiopian keyboardist Hailu Mergia and Nigerian musician William Onyeabor, Other Worlds and Habitats, as the name suggests, showcases The Sorcerers' shift to a new, and deeply exciting, musical landscape. A Danish tour, unbelievably the first live outing for The Sorcerers, created another patina to the band. A weary time on the road, shared by the core Sorcerers trio of bassist Neil Innes, drummer Joost Hendrickx (Gotts Street Park, Kefaya, Eddie Chacon) and reed/flute/vibes player Richard Ormrod, alongside new/old member Richards led, to an organic, less cerebral sound than listeners have heard before. The Sorcerers' Other Worlds and Habitats is a natural progression in the world they have created for themselves. Richer for shared experiences, and accepting the rise of the machines, they prove that while their journey is always going forward, there are many different paths to take.

WOLF, PATRICIA Hrafnamynd LP
Balmat 17 marks both a return and a new frontier. It is the second album on the label from Patricia Wolf, whose 2022 album See-Through (BALMAT 003LP) is one of the most beloved in Balmat's catalog; it also marks the first time that Wolf has turned her hand to a film soundtrack. The results are every bit as magical as fans of the Portland, Oregon, composer's music might expect. Hrafnamynd -- Icelandic for "raven film" -- is a new feature-length documentary by experimental filmmaker Edward Pack Davee. Shot on a mix of film and digital formats, and incorporating his father's Ektachrome slides from the 1970s, the autobiographical film works on multiple levels at once: a reminiscence of his childhood in Iceland, an exploration of landscape and folklore, and a documentary study of the island nation's ravens -- including a talking raven named Krummi. Wolf is the perfect artist to score such an unusual film. Mixing ambient music and field recording -- including extensive experience documenting bird song -- Wolf brings an unusually empathic perspective to her music. In the context of Hrafnamynd, her airy melodies, pensive atmospheres, and vivid textures intuitively complement the film's grainy film stock and blown-out colors. Friends for years, the two artists further bonded when Wolf asked Pack to film music videos for her songs "Woodland Encounter" (from See-Through) and "The Culmination Of" (from I'll Look For You In Others). Pack used Wolf's previously recorded music as placeholders as he began assembling a rough cut of the film, which made her a natural choice to help him complete his idiosyncratic vision with an all-new, bespoke score. But Wolf's soundtrack also indisputably stands alone as a full-length album. Largely created using the UDO Super 6 synthesizer, it features a carefully distilled palette of warm, string-like pads and darkly glistening mallets, rounded out with the very occasional introduction of nylon string guitar. Musically and stylistically, the album's 11 tracks represent both a continuation of the ruminative sound of See-Through and also an extension into new expressive modes. Few musicians, ambient or otherwise, are as skilled at balancing melody with atmosphere, or at finding ways to eke fresh at finding ways to eke fresh, surprising sounds out of an intentionally reduced toolkit. Meditative, immersive, and emotionally generous Wolf's Hrafnamynd soundtrack evokes a range of ambient classics from decades past while confidently marking out its own verdant patch of ground.

SHIRAN & BAKAL Electro Baghdad LP
SHIRAN and Bakal fuse traditional Iraqi songs and instrumentation with modern electronic music on deeply personal collaborative album, Electro Baghdad, for Batov Records. Electro Baghdad expands on the ideas explored on the duo's self-released 2023 debut EP Electro Hafla, and builds upon SHIRAN's solo work, which earned her a Songlines "Top of the World" award and widespread praise for her expressive voice and dynamic reinterpretation of traditional Yemeni music -- an influence drawn from her maternal heritage. Both born to half-Yemeni, half-Iraqi parents in Israel, SHIRAN and Bakal's music reflect their diverse heritage. Singing previously in Yemenite Arabic, she bridged generations by blending traditional melodies with contemporary sounds. Now with Electro Baghdad, SHIRAN and Bakal pay tribute to their Iraqi roots, recontextualizing traditional songs passed down through generations, using analog synths, heavy basslines, and pulsing electronic grooves. SHIRAN leads a chorus of female voices, weaving through the highs and lows of love, heartbreak, and healing, only to repeat the cycle again. Traditional Middle Eastern instrumentation, such as the stringed qanun, ney flute, and handclapped Dabke-like percussion, intertwines with driving electronic basslines, bridging past and present. Album opener "Sghayiroun" (Little One) is a tender and poetic reflection on love, separation, and longing. It speaks of missing a younger loved one "dearer to us than our whole family," with lyrics so poignant they declare, "I swear I'll sew my eyes shut until they return." This emotional weight is counterbalanced by a hypnotic mid-tempo groove, driven by a pulsating bassline and adorned with saz-like synths, making it one of the album's most mesmerizing tracks. Another highlight, "Eshrab Kasak Wethanna" (Drink Your Glass and Be Happy), embraces joy despite the pain it took to reach it. The lyrics toast to resilience: "Drink, my love. My family turned against me because of you, and people told me to leave, but I stayed". The song celebrates choosing happiness even when others don't understand your love, blending heartache and warmth in a way that feels deeply real. Bakal's electronic production builds an immersive world, where lovers can dance the night away, untouched by the judgement of others. With Electro Baghdad, they breathe new life into Iraqi musical heritage, retaining the emotional core of the original melodies, sung in Iraqi Arabic, while surrounding them with a modern, energetic, and dynamic sound designed for live performance.

URS GRAF CONSORT Fireproof Sweat LP
Fireproof Sweat picks up the torch from the group's second album, Viv?r? (2016, La R?publique des Granges), though where Viv?r? fights and shouts, Fireproof Sweat wonders what for. Writing in Italian allowed for a kind of na?ve retour aux sources and opened up a more subjective form of songwriting. Percussionist Camille Emaille and drummer Francesco Pastacaldi each make their first appearance in the group, lending spacious restraint and gorgeous texture, and when paired with the brass of Gabriel Bristow and Simon Sieger they form an irresistibly light touch quartet. Led by the curious invention of singer Adrien Bardi Bienenstock and violinist Prune B?cheau (also cited as performing "mermaid calls"), musically Fireproof Sweat is the most direct Urs Graf Consort record to date, yet its theme is one of loss.

ALICE Chateaux Faibles CD
Alice is a vocal harmony trio made up of three persons, joined by a cheap synth and limited virtuosity. Together, they craft a kind of future folklore that's part funny, part apocalyptic -- half-soft, half-harsh, half-sad, half-simple, half-complex, half-controlled, half-Yvonne Harder, half-Sarah Andr?, half-Lisa Harder. Since their last album L'Oiseau Magnifique (BJR 091CD), Alice have spent time on the road -- in cars, in trains, out in the open. Accustomed to writing outdoors, they slowly stitched together a collection of new songs. After two years of performing in clubs, bars, stairwells, carpentry workshops, activist agricultural fairs and roadside shoulders, they took their Oiseau Magnifique just about everywhere. It felt like time to sew these new pieces together -- a quilt of humor and soft words, something we could really use in these half-sweet, half-fascist times. Les Ch?teaux Faibles is the name of one of their latest songs, and naturally, the title of their new album. It captures the group's ethos perfectly -- a search for refuge in fragility, in a weakness that's better when shared. A collective sensitivity to bring us closer, stronger -- united in Ch?teaux Faibles.

GREGORY & DENNIS Blood Brothers LP
Originally released by RAS in 1994. Recorded and mixed at Leggo Recording Studio Kingston, Jamaica. Blood Brothers review by Jo-Ann Greene: "After the success of 1984's Two Bad Superstars Meet, it was inevitable that Gregory Isaacs and Dennis Brown would join forces time and again. On Blood Brothers, the pair duets on four co-written tracks, then go their own way on another four self-composed songs apiece -- the upside is that even if Brown is no longer in perfect voice, his performances are still gloriously rich in emotion and soul. This is particularly notable on 'Ease Up,' the pair's heartfelt plea for 'Mr. Big Shot' to ease up the pressure on the sufferers, and the equally impassioned 'Hard Labor,' a tough look at prison life. The stellar title track is a bouncy and jubilant celebration of fraternal love, while the gorgeous 'Closer Than a Friend' revels in the men's glorious harmonies. Of Brown's own solo numbers, a recut 'Here I Come' is the weakest, his vocals reed-thin, which the backing Roots Radics' militant rhythm and producer Errol 'Flabba' Holt's crisp production emphasize. Far superior is Brown's inspiring, soulful performance on the praise-filled 'Give Thanks to the Father' and his impassioned loverman delivery on 'True Love Is Hard to Find.' Arguably the best of his numbers is the last, 'Lover With Meaning,' and here Brown's voice is thick and rich with emotion. The sparser the sound, the brighter the singer shines, as on his totally laid-back 'Hooked on Your Love,' where the backing is stripped down to tattooed beats, Holt's reverbed bass, and a sprinkling of keyboards. From the sweet 'Goodbye Love,' across the vivacious 'The Love Letter' and on to the sufferer's-themed 'The Feds,' Isaacs struts his best stuff. Of course, as the title makes clear, this set wasn't meant as a clash album, but a showcase for two superb talents."

PSYCHIC TV A Prayer For Derek Jarman CD
Unavailable for almost 30 years in its own right, this collection from the Cold Spring archive has been repackaged and remastered with new art. This classic album exists as a document of the soundtrack work Psychic TV created for the many films and videos of Derek Jarman. Another demonstration of why Psychic TV were one of the most important groups in the world. The titular track, "Prayer For Derek," is intended as an invocationary prayer, based on Tibetan rituals; a collage of sounds including field recordings of the lulling waves running aground on the shingle beach opposite Jarman's Prospect Cottage in Dungeness, Kent alongside bird song, crying babies, and massed ritualized chants to aid the late film director in his after-life journeys. Other tracks feature elongated drones, washes of dissonance, melancholic guitar chime, evocative piano scoring, Burroughs cut-ups, gothic chants, and familiar snarling gods. SONOLOGYST Planetarium 2CD
An aural exploration of the solar system by Italian deep sound master Sonologyst, using data from NASA's probes. On this album, raw data from radio waves, electromagnetic fields, and plasma fluctuations, utilizing data sonification files provided by NASA, are transformed into a haunting soundscape, unveiling the ambient music of planets, solar winds, and the cosmic beyond. As the newest addition to Sonologyst's series of sonic documentaries, this work deepens his exploration of the sonic spectrum, converting cosmic phenomena into immersive auditory experiences. NASA and other space agencies have captured "sounds" from the cosmos by recording non-audible signals like radio waves, electromagnetic waves, and plasma (ionized gas that's prevalent in space) wave fluctuations. These are converted into audio frequencies we can hear using a process called data sonification. Spacecraft like Voyager, Cassini, and Juno are equipped with special instruments (e.g., plasma wave antennas, magnetometers, radio wave receivers) to detect radio waves, plasma waves, and electromagnetic fields. These signals can provide data on phenomena like solar wind, planetary magnetospheres, and charged particles. Since many of these signals are outside our hearing range (radio waves might have frequencies far below the audible range (20 Hz to 20 kHz) or far above it, while magnetic and plasma waves are often in the range of milliHertz (mHz) to kilohertz (kHz), also outside human hearing), they are converted using various techniques, including frequency scaling, sampling, filtering, and amplitude modulation. Some events, like plasma wave bursts, happen over long periods. Scientists may speed up the playback so people can hear the changes in a shorter time frame. After conversion, the resulting sounds are often enhanced to make certain patterns, pitches, or changes in intensity more noticeable. This may involve amplifying certain frequencies or adding layers to represent multi-dimensional data. This processing helps bring out subtle differences that might otherwise be hard to discern. Double CD in a matt-finish gatefold ecopak, with a bonus disc of the raw source material from NASA's probes.

COATSHEK Sound Bath LP
"Dark Entries returns to the steam room with Coatshek's Sound Bath. For their SoundBaths series, now-defunct poppers brand Double Scorpio commissioned artists to make mixes for an imaginary queer bathhouse. When asked to contribute, San Francisco-based artist Coatshek aka Sheki Cicelsky took the opportunity to create original compositions. The resulting album, Sound Bath, serves as a masterclass in slow and sultry ambient techno. Taking inspiration from Pink Floyd, Manuel G?ttsching's E2-E4, and his friend's DJ mixes (particularly Nick Moss and Matthew Paul's for 'Por Detroit'), Coatshek landed on 107 bpm as the optimal speed for sauna sex. With just a few synths, his Telecaster, and 'lots of delays, reverb, and weed,' he sculpted stunning cuts like the effortlessly grooving 'Softest' and the psych-laced 'Triple Virgo.' The cover for Sound Bath was designed by Coatshek's fianc? Nate Sprecher, and features photographs by Luke Kraman taken at The Ever Afters campout. The album also includes an insert featuring the Double Scorpio SoundBaths series artwork by Blake Wright. Equally hypnogogic and sexually supercharged, Sound Bath situates the bathhouse as a liminal dreamspace of unbounded erotic potentiality."

LOUTH-ROBINS, TRISTAN Borrowed Out Of Time LP
"Borrowed Out Of Time is the latest album by Kaurna Country artist and writer, Tristan Louth-Robins. It follows a steadily paced run of releases for labels like 3LEAVES and his own Studio Maurilia which share an inquisitive spirit, informed by, but different from, influences such as Alvin Lucier and Rolf Julius. While Tristan's compositions might be neatly situated somewhere adjacent to both sound art and acoustic ecology, they aren't beholden to those genres, and his work with field recordings and composition are smart in their suggestive possibilities. Borrowed Out Of Time feels like a step forward for Tristan; it makes sense that it's his first full-length vinyl release, made real by Adelaide's redoubtable De La Catessen imprint. Tristan is one of those consistent presences within Adelaide's network of experimental musicians, sound artists, and general refuseniks... The album itself started with Tristan's use of remote acoustic recorders. Deploying them to a reef at low tide, near his hometown in Normanville, he found himself empathizing with these lonely, passive technological presences: 'It was the first time I could remember a profound pang of something for what the technology was experiencing, sensing and 'feeling'.' A loosely contemporaneous encounter with James Bridie's Ways Of Being and the concept of unwelt ('the way non-human things sense and experience the world around them'), plus a commission for an installation work for Adelaide Festival's Neoterica, nudged Tristan further in the album's direction, thinking through ideas of the uncanny/unheimlich and interference. If that material, plus other recordings sourced from those acoustic recorders, proffers the groundwork for Borrowed Out Of Time, Tristan's embellishments and extrapolations in his home studio bring other voices to bear -- a Tama acoustic guitar; tape hiss; digital noise; cymbals; fence wire; ring modulation; yet more -- producing a suite of four works that strike as gently poignant, even as they deal with source material that is sometimes disembodied, denaturalized, or rendered adrift through processes of compositional dislocation... Throughout, I hear a cussed curiosity and a sharpness in attention, coupled with a compositional ear that's hitherto been mostly implied; now, though, Tristan's music has achieved an easeful poetics that has no need to ask you to be enamoured of it. It's simply there, smartly designed, inviting even at its most austere, ready to welcome you to its world, on its own terms, but with warmth and understated wit." --Jon Dale

GOLONKA Cut Out the Day LP
De la Catessen Records presents Cut Out the Day, the third album by Adelaide world music/cabaret outfit, Golonka. Cut Out the Day is a wild and original mix of gypsy vibes, European blues and gritty klezmer: a mixture of originals and covers from the fringes of Eastern Europe. This theatrical collection of original numbers and poetic arrangements of a wide range of eastern European folk tunes boasts moments of sublimely atmospheric melancholy, and the laughter of dark whimsy. Whatever trouble and sadness might be the seed of a song, Golonka's cure is furious rhythm and wild dancing. Golonka's five musicians from diverse backgrounds have performed all around the world, each having carved out their own career with a distinct musical voice that makes Golonka more than the sum of its considerable parts. The group formed almost 20 years ago and have been gigging constantly since then, with highlights including Womad and a tour of Japan. Featuring Dylan Woolcock on vocals, guitar and domra, Quincy Grant on clarinet and guitar, Gareth Chin on accordion, Belinda Gehlert on violin, and Harley Gray on double bass.

PASCOE & MARTIN Here Comes Everything 18CD BOX
De la Catessen Records presents Here Comes Everything, a monumental 18CD box set marking the long-overdue recording debut of duo Pascoe & Martin. This is De la Catessen's most lavish production to date in its ongoing commitment to unearthing, documenting, and illuminating experimental music from Port Adelaide, Australia. The world of Here Comes Everything is rich, playful, and virtuosic. In its limitless variety it invokes a day-long perspective -- and what a glorious day -- of quotidian experiences, from the wondrous to the mundane. Here Comes Everything is sublime in its reverence of detail; awesome in its cumulative flood of experience; revelatory in its many extemporary dialogues whispered and roared. Each of the 18 parts of this Here Comes Everything is a single long improvisation, named after one of the 18 chapters of Ulysses. James Joyce's schema for Ulysses -- an 18-row chart he devised to help his friends navigate the labyrinth of each chapter's themes and references -- is the structure on which Pascoe & Martin's far-reaching musical epic is based. Here Comes Everything is the saga of two contradictory musical characters in their search for meaning and for each other. Chris Martin's piano is elevated, cabalistic, and rapturous. Derek Pascoe's saxophone is earthy, sensual and profane. Pascoe and Martin's journey in Here Comes Everything is akin to that of Bloom and Dedalus in Ulysses, where the fundamental inspiration for Here Comes Everything can be found. Pascoe & Martin have been honing their craft as a long-form improvising duo for 25 years. Since 2000 their public performances have been unmissable events. Pascoe & Martin continue to challenge and contradict each other in their open-ended Socratic dialogue. Years in the making, yet entirely and thrillingly in the moment, De la Catessen Records presents Here Comes Everything in an edition of just 300 copies. Lavishly illustrated by Michael Hocking with drawings taken from life during 18 recording sessions, Here Comes Everything is not to be missed.

KLEISTWAHR Winter/Music for Zeitgeist Fighters 2CD
In 2021 US label Helen Scarsdale Agency released Kleistwahr's Winter album on vinyl in an edition of 300 now more or less sold out, while Music for Zeitgeist Fighters preceded it by a few years on Egypt's Nashazphone imprint also as an LP limited to 300 and equally hard to find these days. Both albums are brought together on this limited edition 2CD release and feature, between them, five bonus tracks not previously made available elsewhere. Anybody paying enough attention in recent years will know that Fourth Dimension Records has long been dedicated to Gary Mundy of Ramleh's longstanding solo endeavor and is therefore happy to add these two wonderful albums to the fold. As with all of Kleistwahr's music, the very same strands of noise, tempered abrasiveness and serrated industrial hum that the project initially introduced in the early '80s can still be found guiding the sound but there's so much more to Kleistwahr than this. As with Ramleh, ravaged psychedelia and a tendency to infuse it with sensibilities found more often in art rock, prime period post-punk and even avant-garde music likewise play a significant role, rendering it a distinctive project driven by a singular vision that thankfully shows no signs of letting up. If you missed out on the original vinyl releases of these two albums, want to catch the additional material or simply prefer CDs, you'll need this set. Limited to 300.

His album Truths and Rights was a roots reggae success, and featured 'Jah Promise' and the album's title track, 'Truths and Rights.' He also enjoyed big hits with covers of U.S. soul tunes such as 'Ready Or Not' and Earth, Wind and Fire's 'Reasons.' In addition, he has had many songs with the phrase 'Rub A Dub' in the title, the most acclaimed of these is to the 'Rub A Dub Session.' Osbourne is also the most in-demand vocalist for dubplates due to the amount of dancehall classics he has had. This has resulted in the nickname Dancehall Godfather. IT'S ALL MEAT It's All Meat CD
Official reissue of this sought-after Canadian psychedelic hard-rock album from 1970. Formed in Toronto in the late '60s, It's All Meat (the name was taken from a dog food commercial!) soon caught the attention of influential character Jack London (frontman of pre-Steppenwolf band Jack London and the Sparrows) who managed the band and secured a deal with major label Columbia Records. After recording their first 45, the proto-punk MC5/Stones sounding "Feel It," the band started working on their first album with the tandem of Jed MacKay and Rick McKim as main songwriters. It's All Meat was released in 1970 and offered a powerful mix of garage-rock, psychedelia and early hard-rock, drawing influences from bands like the Stones, Country Joe & The Fish, Doors, Velvet Underground -- tracks like "Roll My Own" or the lysergic "Crying Into The Deep Lake" are now considered classics of the genre. Sadly, the band would split soon after the LP was released. Remastered sound in 24-bit domain. Includes booklet with liner notes by Plastic Crimewave and rare photos/memorabilia. Features seven bonus tracks including non-LP singles and rare tracks.

BIXBY, DAVE Ode To Quetzalcoatl (Remastered) LP
Since its discovery in the late '90s, Dave Bixby's legendary $2000 private press album from 1969 is considered by all serious record collectors as the King in the loner/downer folk genre. First reissued by Guerssen back in 2009, the label now presents a new, improved edition with newly sourced/remastered sound and extras. After being involved in '60s Michigan folk and garage-rock bands such as The Shillelaghs and Peter & The Prophets, Bixby started playing acoustic guitar and experimenting with LSD. After a year of drug abuse he felt broken. Starting a soul-searching, spiritual journey, he wrote Ode to Quetzalcoatl and most of the material for his second album, Harbinger's Second Coming in just one month and a half. Assisted by fellow musician Brian MacInness, who played some guitar parts on the album, Dave recorded Quetzalcoatl using an echo-laden four track machine in a flat's living room. The sound is lo-fi and sparse: just acoustic guitars and some occasional harmonica and flute, added to Bixby's haunting, emotional vocals, spiritual lyrics and solid songwriting. The opening cut, the eerie and painful "Drug Song" sets the mood perfectly for the rest of the album which contains more tormented titles like "666," "Lonely faces," "Open Doors," and "Secret Forest." Featuring original artwork in hard cardboard sleeve. Restored and remastered in 24-bit domain at Grammy Award-winning Osiris Studio. Includes insert with detailed liner notes plus rare pictures and lyrics. Also features extra insert with the map/story of Quetzalcoatl by Dave Bixby, as well as download card.

MARGARITA WITCH CULT Margarita Witch Cult LP
Purple color vinyl. Born from the murky industrial depths of Birmingham, UK, Margarita Witch Cult's self-titled debut studio album is a tour-de-force in classic metal, hard rock, doom, and mind-melting psych. A thunderous drum fill propels you into opener "Diabolical Influence" -- a lurching behemoth of a tune that makes easy bedfellows of crushing stoner riffs, Latin incantations, and a simply humongous chorus. The pace quickens with the frantic "Death Lurks at Every Turn" -- a hair-raising thrasher of breakneck snare rolls and unruly guitar solos. "The Witchfinder Comes" only furthers the sense of foreboding, as tales of torture and pleas for exile fall on the ever-deafening ears of the listener. "Be My Witch" comes in hot and heavy as a grungy ode to the forbidden, and the blistering "Annihilation" concludes side A with speed-freak ferocity. The more adventurous and immersive side B is kick-started with "Theme From Cyclops" -- the deft chops of all three members being undeniable as they gallop into the ambitious, face-melting journey that is "Lord Of The Flies" -- a belting doom groover that culminates in a classic guitar and bass dual to rival even the most virtuosic of axe-wielders. Near the end of this perilous sonic expedition, "Aradia" serves up an instrumental serving of pure downtuned filth, with sleazy swagger and tasteful shredding that give extra provenance to its author's deep bag of tricks. The killer blow comes in the shape of the simply savage "Sacrifice" -- an unholy exhibition of undeniable force. The duality of the track makes for an experience that leaves the sweet listener reeling -- the bludgeoning weight of its monstrous main-riff giving way to razor-sharp verses and a tripped-out, mind-bending psych jam -- only to come crashing back to crushing reality as the final, fatal notes ring out. With their debut LP, Margarita Witch Cult have crafted a timeless, merciless beast -- one that will chew you up and spit you out, yet somehow keep you crawling back for more.

CHEATER SLICKS Don't Like You 2LP
"In 1995 In The Red released the Cheater Slicks fourth full length album, Don't Like You. The band, based in Boston at the time, travelled to New York to record at Jerry Teel's Funhouse studio with Jon Spencer acting as producer. The result was a completely over the top noisefest that remains one of my favorite ITR releases to this day. Admittedly, Jon's production was heavy-handed and extreme but, I thought it suited the band and this material well. Prior to the recording the band demoed their material at a couple of different eight track studios in Boston. The demos showed that the band had enough material for an album that would be (in my opinion) their strongest to date. When the album was released it was very well received but there was a small number of people close to the band and myself who were critical of Jon's production and preferred the straight forward recording of the demos. With vinyl for Don't Like You being out of print for decades I figured the album's 30th anniversary was a good time for a re-release and to finally release the demos as well. I think both stand the test of time." --Larry Hardy

BETON ARME Renaissance LP
Montr?al has always had an active music scene, but it seems hard for bands to break out and reach wider audiences outside Canada. However, when a band is able to break out, they become the archetype for their respective sounds, creating something entirely unique from familiar riffs and structures. Now comes B?ton Arm?'s uplifting blend of Oi!, punk and hardcore. While it seems most people are learning about the band through their recent tours, they have been active since 2018, meticulously dialing in their sound. Initially influenced by the skinhead scenes of France and Italy, their new LP Renaissance borrows from sounds outside the subculture, orchestrating harmonies to unite the punks, skins and moshers. The Italian influence still remains, however on this LP, there is a subtle influence of early American hardcore bands, adding more stomping rhythms and upping the pace of the songs. Renaissance is an excellent example of how a band can evolve their sound without losing the aspects that define them: razor sharps riffs, unexpected disco drum syncopations and, of course, orchestral "Ohhhhhhs". Every song verges on an anthem that will get stuck in your head for days.

TELLEM, GENE Phantom Vibrations 12"
"A place between deep listening and a dance" is how Gene Tellem describes the music she releases via her Montreal-based independent label, Bienvenue Recordings. However her words apply just as well to her own sound as an artist, producer and remixer. Though inspired by early deep house and its musical antecedents, Gene's work possesses an emotional resonance that transcends influence. It's a quality that's characterized her output since debuting her productions in 2017 -- whether working solo or within her four-piece group Secret Witness, with vocalists or instrumentally, or via Bienvenue or other labels within the indie community. And it's in abundance on the five-track Phantom Vibrations EP -- her latest contribution to the imprint with which she shares an appreciation for the sounds and spaces that blur active listening and movement, NYC's Love Injection Records. Its centerpiece is "Phantom Vibrations" -- a paean to the allure of the elusive and ethereal that features the soulfully understated vocals of singer and co-writer Teddy Bryant across four distinct mixes. Gene's "Main Mix" emphasizes the song's emotive duality. It opens pensively -- Teddy's doubled voice pledging devotion to an unrequited "phantom love" over stuttering bass and percussion. But halfway through, his repeated refrain becomes less a plea than an invitation. Bass and drums synchronize, the track motors up, and the lyrics' melancholia is absorbed into the momentum of the dance. The "Radio Mix" and largely instrumental "Alt Mix" capture these intertwined emotional ghost notes as stand-alone statements. Two remarkable additional remixes come courtesy of Sapporo, Japan's Kuniyuki Takahashi. Long venerated as an artist, producer and sound designer (over a storied career that's included collaborations with Theo Parrish, Joe Claussell, Henrik Schwartz, DJ Sprinkles and 4 Hero's Dego amongst others), Kuniyuki's "Kuniyuki Remix" dubs out Bryant's vocals within a beautiful arrangement of darting synth work. His dreamlike "Beatless Remix" strips back the track to its melodic bones, and in the tradition pioneered by Francois K's early '80s Prelude dubs, bathes Bryant's vocals in ecstatic echo.

While the original versions touch on classic disco/vocal house, Londoner Oliver Night takes his remixes into deeper territory and brukwise.

BARTHOLOMEW Subterranea CD
Newcastle-based electronic artist Bartholomew returns with Subterranea, his most personal and cinematic release to date. Arriving on Lunar Module, a new CD imprint from Castles in Space, the album delves deep into emotional terrain -- fusing generative electronics, orchestral flourishes, and raw sonic textures into a poignant meditation on instability and resilience. Following 2023's Moorbound -- a love letter to the Newcastle Town Moor -- Subterranea marks a turning inward. While Moorbound found grounding in the natural world, this new record confronts internal architecture: the disquiet of mental health struggles, personal upheaval, and the ever-shifting nature of equilibrium. Across nine tracks, Bartholomew -- real name Chris Bartholomew -- draws on his background in theatrical composition (Barbican, National Theatre Studio), marrying cinematic storytelling with a palette that recalls the emotional resonance of Hans Zimmer, the granular textures of Tim Hecker, and the stark minimalism of Ben Frost. The result is a body of work that's as vulnerable as it is technically accomplished. The seeds of Subterranea were planted after a shared bill at Newcastle's Cumberland Arms with Gordon Chapman-Fox (Warrington-Runcorn New Town Development Plan). Impressed by the raw demo material, Chapman-Fox brought the project to Lunar Module, a label whose mission -- charting inner worlds and emotional topographies -- was an ideal fit.

MAZOLEWSKI QUINTET, WOJTEK Live Spirit I CD
Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet (WMQ) -- one of the most charismatic groups on the European jazz scene -- returns with Live Spirit I, a new double album recorded at the iconic Witold Lutos?awski Polish Radio Concert Studio in Warsaw. The release features four brand-new compositions alongside electrifying new takes on WMQ classics, including a stunning 20-minute version of "Polka," the title track from their best-selling record. This is WMQ at its core: deeply rooted in Polish jazz tradition, elevated by the spiritual depth and uninhibited virtuosity of improvisation, and shaped by a distinctly modern sensibility and urban energy. Live Spirit I is not just a celebration of the group's unmistakable sound -- it's a powerful reflection of their ongoing evolution. The album was recorded during the international tour for their critically acclaimed studio release Beautiful People (WMQ 009LP). Alongside the Warsaw concert, the quintet performed dozens of shows worldwide -- selling out Londons Jazz Cafe and earning ovations in Chile, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico. As both a virtuoso bassist and composer, Mazolewski seamlessly blends traditional jazz with contemporary influences, creating a sound that is both hypnotic and emotionally charged. His 2014 album Polka was named one of the five best jazz records of the year by DownBeat, and earned high praise from Kind of Jazz in the UK. The follow-up, When Angels Fall -- featuring reimaginings of Krzysztof Komeda's compositions -- was also widely acclaimed by outlets like DownBeat and London Jazz News. His latest studio project Beautiful People showcases a bold immersion in spiritual jazz traditions, while remaining deeply rooted in Slavic culture and sharply attuned to the pulse of the present. Live Spirit I captures WMQ in peak form: a tightly unified collective that shifts effortlessly from meditative focus to ecstatic improvisational flights, powered by the energy of a live audience. Mazolewski's compositions flourish in this setting, revealing a potent mix of vitality and groove -- qualities that have kept jazz relevant across generations and continue to attract new listeners.

DREAMIES Auralgraphic Entertainment LP
The perfect marriage between psychedelia, pop and experimental sounds. This unique album by Bill Holt, first released in 1974, sounded way ahead of its time and became an international cult classic in the following decades. A perfect example of what was called "Head Music" at the time, Dreamies consists of two large suits full of Lennon-esque vocals, sound collages, early electronics and proto-sampling. Featuring remastered sound and original artwork in hard cardboard sleeve. Includes reproduction of the rare original insert and extra insert with liner notes by Klemen Breznikar (It's Psychedelic Baby) and photos."One of the top 50 Out There Albums Of All Time" --Mojo"The overall effect is something like a primordial Olivia Tremor Control, and easily as wild and unfettered as anything the Residents were doing in the '70s. Dreamies has its obvious and acknowledged influences -- the Beatles and John Cage chief among them -- but it's also clearly the work of an untutored auteur dissecting his own mind in the basement on reel-to-reel." --Joe Tangari, Pitchfork

CHILDREN OF THE MUSHROOM Lady CD
First ever release of post-Children Of The Mushroom heavy prog studio/live recordings from 1971. Formed in California in 1967, Children of the Mushroom were the quintessential garage-psych band. As the times evolved, the band hardened their sound, shortening their name to Mushroom. By 1970, Mushroom became Lady, incorporating prog-rock influences and instruments like flute to their hard-pych organ/guitar dominated sound, drawing inspiration from bands like Jethro Tull, Steamhammer, Gypsy, or Bloodrock. In 1971 the band recorded a few studio demos at Village Recorders in Los Angeles, which are presented here in top sound quality along with a couple of raw, lo-fi but killer live tracks from the same year. Long tracks, heavy fuzz guitar, Hammond organ, flute, and powerful vocals. Remastered sound. Includes insert with liner notes by Klemen Breznikar (It's Psychedelic Baby) and rare photos. CARTER, DOROTHY Waillee Waillee LP
2025 restock. "Palto Flats/Putojefe Records present the first ever reissue of the work of American composer Dorothy Carter, master of the hammered dulcimer, zither, and other instruments of the hammer chord zither/psalterium family. A true musical vagabond, Dorothy was born in New York in 1935, though her spiritual pursuit of an expansive musical knowledge would take her to monasteries in Mexico, conservatories in France and London, and the founding of the Central Maine Power Music Company (CMPMC), with new-age/minimalist luminaries such as Constance Demby and Robert Rutman. Dorothy Carter was many things - a virtuoso player, storyteller, historian of Celtic and Appalachian folk music, avid lifelong busker, avant-garde musician, and itinerant troubadour, laying a framework for music that existed both within and outside of standard folk idioms -- never better represented than on her 1978 masterwork, Waillee Wailee. Underscored by Bob Rutman's cavernous bowing of the steel cello, the richness of Waillee Waillee's sound produces an album unlike any other in her discography. Carter counted musical colleagues as diverse as Constance Demby, Einst?rzende Neubauten, and Laraaji, as well as her lifelong artistic partner and friend Bob Rutman, whose imprint is felt throughout the grooves of this record. The master tapes for this recording were fortuitously discovered in Rutman's Berlin studio, many, many years later. As recounted in Laraaji's contribution to the liner notes, Dorothy was 'someone who really influenced my early zither exploration and vocabulary and inspired my shift toward hammered zither performance and recording,' after encountering him busking on the sidewalk one day in the 1970s. Later, when living in Berlin in the early 1990s, Dorothy would begin work on manuscripts detailing the history of the dulcimer family and providing extensive sheet music, selected material of which is reproduced in the twelve-page booklet included with this release. Dorothy would find later success touring and performing in the late '90s with the ensemble Medi?val B?bes, which she led with British musician Katherine Blake, playing a prominent role on their first four albums. The recording of Waillee Waillee would mark the end of an era for Dorothy: leaving behind the familiar confines of the northeast, she embarked to New Orleans, settling with her family there."

BAKER, CHET Intimacy 2LP
"Baker was able to maintain this magical atmosphere, where time cease to exist both when he was playing his trumpet with his usual elegance and when he was singing with his ethereal voice and delicate and light scatting. Chet Baker realized the uniqueness of the evening from the first tune. 'The Touch of Your Lips' confirms how appropriate was Chet intuition to use Stilo at the piano. His comping perfectly complements Baker's voice and when given space he continues with along piano solo at a very slow tempo that gives continuity to the magic created by Bakers' voice. And finally, the trumpet takes center stage carrying the baton sweetly received from the pianist. Chet Baker solo is a way of storytelling, very moving and slow paced."

It is the worthy conclusion of a work that will reconcile the fans with some of the characteristics that make jazz -- a term that some don't want to use anymore, but this is another story yet to be told -- a fascinating and pleasantly charming world."

MAYURASHKA LSI Dreaming 12"
Japanese sensation Mayurashka has arrived on Rhythm Section International! Known for her delicate, subtly psychedelic approach to production -- all subtlety is thrown out of the window on the opener, "Parents and God." It slams, jerking in and out of tempo like Ron Hardy in beast mode. Out of nowhere a soulful church organ arrives -- at first for a brief respite -- but then for an extended solo, which gives way to an '80s electro style breakdown before reverting back to form. It shouldn't work, but somehow it does -- to a dizzying extent -- and heirin lies Mayurashka's magic: a blatant disregard for norms and a deft touch that makes the unorthodox so compelling. "Notango" takes another big left turn -- sitting somewhere between tribal seance and rain dance, it's mostly organic drums and otherworldly sound effects that combine to drag us deeper into the wormhole before "Vat Murmur" takes listeners back into the light with its uptempo disco energy and giving way to heavy chugging bass. This one is equally for fans of idjut boys and Larry Levan. The EP rounds off with the title track "LSI dreaming" -- to try and describe it is almost impossible.

EDWARDS, TERRY The Koln Concerts CD
"In 2002 Anthony Moore invited me to take part in the per->SON symposium which he curated at Kunsthochschule f?r Medien, K?ln. There were lectures and discussions presented over the weekend along with performances by myself, Marc Ribot, Alexander Balenescu (with and without his quartet), Kenneth Fields and Yu Hongmei. This record documents my solo performances plus duets with Marc and Alex. Initially I'd asked Marc if he'd care to join me in a version of "Harlem Nocturne" but he said "Terry, we both know how Harlem Nocturne goes. Why don't we improvise instead?" -- so we did. Alex was game too. I've been meaning to put this out for a while and have finally been galvanised into action by the knowledge that 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the somewhat more famous K?ln Concert album by Keith Jarrett. Respect to both him and the promoter of that concert, Vera Brandes." Recorded live at the Stadtgarten, K?ln April 18-20, 2002.

ALLISON, DOT Subconsciousology (Lomond Campbell Remixes) LP
Subconsciousology is a full reworking of Dot Allison's 2023's Consciousology, by producer Lomond Campbell, who, as the title suggests, has made it deeper, darker and dancier. Whereas the original album was all ornate avant-garde folk and psychedelic explorations, this new take is as hard-hitting as it is heavenly, as beat-driven as it is beautiful, and crucially it finds Dot re-embracing the electronic music with which she first made her name in One Dove. "I love that Lomond has brought a rich musicality and has created wild universes around the elements he has chosen to retain in the various songs," adds Dot. "It reminds me of working with Andrew Weatherall in a way, where the mixes were bold and reinventive departures. The whole concept of the original record is about interconnectivity and the electromagnetic aspects to consciousness, so the remixed version is like a rainbow diffracted from a beam of light." Everything in this pot of gold sounds and feels at once familiar but different -- from the chugg.

GALORE Dirt LP
"With multiple songwriters, sinuous harmonies, and rock riffs born out of an intensely communal creative process, Galore -- bassist Ava Rosen, guitarist Griffin Jones, guitarist Ainsley Wagoner, and drummer Hannah Smith -- embodies the spirit of a true musical collective. The album's theme is in its name: Dirt. In ten songs, Galore takes listeners back to the sandbox of creativity on an exploration of what makes them human through layers of jangly, off-kilter guitars, interwoven harmonies, and incredible pop sensibilities. Three out of four members of Galore were born and raised in San Francisco and Oakland, and all of them cite the Bay's storied music scene as inspiration. Local favorite Grass Widow's influence looms large in lead-style bass lines and frequent harmonies on tracks like 'Solastalgia' and 'Dream Palace,' while tracks like 'Bastard' and 'Zinger' lean on the rowdy experimentation of early aughts femme punk band Hey Girl. Dirt was produced by Galore, Jason Kick (most recently producer of Marinero, Abracadabra, Healing Potpourri), and Simi Sohota (Healing Potpourri). The album was recorded and mixed by Kick at Santo Studios and Tunnel Vision in Oakland, California, over the course of 2024. The band took their time to write songs, craft sonic moments, and produce an album that mixes Galore's intensely catchy pop melodies with layers of Jones' and Wagoner's fuzzed and jangly guitars, warm wurlitzers, tongue-in-cheek sound effects and the steady rhythm section of Smith and Rosen. Dirt is an exquisitely crafted album and a step into new soundscapes for Galore. Their creative magic catches listeners on this powerful summer release, sure to be on repeat."

DON'T WORRY Idealism LP
Idealism is an album about navigating life in the 2020s as millennial adults, and all the difficulties and uncertainties that come with that -- knowing you'll probably never be able to afford to buy a house, and that a simple grocery shop costs way more than ever before. But it's also about all the joys and positives of modern life too -- being kind to yourself, being kind to other people, and overcoming difficulties. The band tries to capture that dichotomy on this album, hence the title Idealism, which the dictionary says is "the unrealistic belief in or pursuit of perfection." The album has been a long time in the making, diligently demoed before tracking across studios in London and Essex. Taking a more pop production approach, layering parts and additional keyboards, synthesizers and percussion to add a richer and fuller sound to their traditional indie rock set up. Nostalgia has always been a running theme for Don't Worry, as displayed on 2022's Remorseless Swing and their 2018 debut album Who Cares Anyway?. There's a decent dose of it on this new album still, including on the cover, with a photograph taken in their home of Harlow New Town in 2001 by Jim Brown. And in their musical influences, Pavement, Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins, The Streets, Fleetwood Mac, UK Grime, and The GTA Vice City Soundtrack (alongside contemporary influences such as Fontaines D.C., MJ Lenderman, Andy Shauf). But perhaps for the first time on this album, they push through the comfort of the past, embrace the present and look forward to the future with hope.

VA Italia New Wave: Minimal Synth, No Wave, & Post Punk Sounds From The '80s Italian Underground LP
2025 repress on yellow vinyl. What exactly happened in the Italian underground/post punk scene of the '80s, is not entirely clear. Therefore, this collection of 13 incredible tunes helps track down the feeling and focuses on the blurry images of a period that was mixing influences from the UK/USA scenes with a more "national" approach to new music developments. The damage began in 1977 when a series of urban/suburban musical agitators, whether skilled or complete amateurs, decided to embrace instruments as weapons for a war against sonic stereotypes. Here's the result: a multiform sonic attack that marks the history of a movement that may have remained local in most cases but whose echo reflected the amazing creativity of a generation. Features Neon, ?????? (Pankow), Le Masque, N.O.I.A., State Of Art, Jeunesse D'ivoire, Monuments, Rats, Fockewulf 190, Luc Orient, Illogico, 2+2=5, and La Maison.

PUFFER Street Hassle LP
This is not the end of a dark alleyway in some US city, this is not the bottom of a platform heel in England, this is not the back corner of some dusty drawer at a record fair in Holland. These are not the places you'll find rock and roll. This is Quebec: A different sensory perception of rock and roll. A heightened awareness of the highest highs and the lowest lows. This is Belgium with snowmobiles, Catholic Texas, Ugly France. All the crumbling highways, the coldest beers, and the loudest joints. Guitars do different things in Quebec. Puffer shimmy across the invisible barricade between Montreal and the rest of the world not just as another crop of punks but as the great descendants and inheritors of modern greats like INEPSY's Rock and Roll Babylon and Annihilation Time's II. Loud, brash, unrelenting. You'll go deaf before you get bored of it. Self-produced, self-recorded, and mixed by the band, this is the vanguard of punk that has lived long beyond its moments of origin. This pure blast of 1979 by way of the hellish weimar end-times of 2025 never made the necessity of punk rock feel so real.

DORELLA, BRUNO redrum LP
redrum (with a lowercase r) is the original music for the dance performance of the same name by the gruppo nanou (with lowercase g and n). Composed in 2023 and staged in 2024, it won the Ubu Prize for best dance show of the year. The collaboration between Bruno Dorella and gruppo nanou has been going on for many years now, and for this show the music is almost entirely electronic, with rare inserts of guitar, bass and vocals. Bruno Dorella plays, produces and mixes the entire work, in a process that, as with the previous Paradiso, involves continuous dialogue with choreographers Rhuena Bracci and Marco Valerio Amico, and with the bodies of the company's dancers.

BRANCA, GLENN The Ascension LP
2025 repress. 2014 release. "Glenn Branca's first full-length album The Ascension is a colossal achievement. After touring much of 1980 with an all-star band featuring four guitarists (Branca, fellow composers Ned Sublette and David Rosenbloom, and future Sonic Youth member Lee Ranaldo) along with Jeffrey Glenn on bass and Stephan Wischerth on drums, Branca took his war-torn group into a studio in Hell's Kitchen to record five incendiary compositions. Originally released in the summer of 1981, The Ascension effectively tears down the genre-ghettos between 20th century avant-garde and ecstatic rock 'n' roll. On 'The Spectacular Commodity,' chiming, shimmering tones unfold into sinister drone-territory ? la Tony Conrad, while abrasive guitars and repetitive beats retain the raw primitivism of No Wave. The title track attains a densely packed, larger-than-life sound and (as author Marc Masters says best) 'never stops climbing skyward.' With artist Robert Longo's stark front cover that depicts Branca battling an unidentified man, The Ascension is a must-have record not only for fans of early Swans and Sonic Youth, but also of Steve Reich or Slint's Tweez."

GORDON/IKUE MORI/DJ OLIVE, KIM SYR 5 2LP
2025 repress. "'Donald Duck, kill Minnie!' These words, ordered with urgency against a circular series of drum strikes and manipulated guitar/electronic textures, come over three fourths of the way through the album known as SYR 5 (aka 'Olive's Horn'). While the words and sounds taken on their own may shock, their appearance within this collaborative effort between Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth, Body/Head, solo efforts), Ikue Mori (DNA, solo) and DJ Olive (We, solo) by this point in the album are not surprising. Taken on whole, SYR 5 sees its creators' respective histories forged in the '80s downtown noise scene, No Wave zone and Marclay-inspired club collide head on to create the audio equivalent of a slow-playing J.G. Ballard novel. Starting from the album's initial impressions where shimmering tones are interrupted by the sounds of winding clocks and bird calls before giving way to cinematic sweeps of percussion, alien samples and blown out wasteland subs, the listener is constantly taken on a guided journey through a waking dream state where anything is possible. It is a world where dub samples, gurling beats and plaintive vocals (as only Gordon can deliver) fit together like the final locking puzzle pieces, the only elements needed to fully grasp a new reality. Re-appearing on vinyl for the first time in 25 years, these sounds have proven to be jaw-droppingly timeless." --Cory Rayborn, 2025

CONN, BOBBY Bobby's Place CD
Welcome to Bobby's Place, the new split personality album from long time musical mischief maker and cultural provocateur Bobby Conn! Side A finds Bobby living in a tent somewhere on the astral plane surrounded by synthesizers, woodwinds, hand drums and a pulsating psychedelic fog. Planet Earth and the temporal plane are only faintly visible in the distance. Bobby is joined by his partner in crime Monica BouBou on violin, and DJ LeDeuce on unknown electronics making three long form journeys through polyrhythmic soundscapes. Master percussionist Michael Zerang (Peter Br?tzmann Tentet, among many others), virtuoso flautist Constance Volk (Ensemble Dal Niente, Twyla Tharp Dance), and bassoonist Airan Wright (Mucca Pazza) come along for the ride. While sonic exploration has always been an aspect of Bobby's music, this is his purest expression to date. Side One finds Bobby starring in an alternative reality workplace sitcom also called "Bobby's Place." In each episode Bobby starts a new small business, like a restaurant or a nail salon, with a team of puppets, but the business inevitably fails and ends in bankruptcy by the end of the show. Bobby sings odes to blind (emphasis on blind) optimism in the face of rising Fascism and the decadent decay of late capitalism, joined once again by Monica BouBou and his band from 2020's Recovery release (TR 450CD): Josh Johannpeter, Jim "Dallas" Cooper, Devin Davis, and Billie Howard. The album was recorded at Bobby's home studio in Chicago over the summer of 2024 and mixed by the brilliant Cooper Crain (Bitchin' Bajas). Bobby Conn is a vocalist, songwriter, and performance artist working in Chicago. He came out of the Chicago "No-Wave" noise and performance scene in the mid-90's but quickly developed a reputation for extravagantly excessive performances, satirically political lyrics, and experimental, electro glam art rock. He collaborates with his partner and violinist Monica BouBou, DJ and sound designer Adam "DJ LeDeuce" Greuel, longtime rhythm section Jim "Dallas" Cooper and Josh Johannpeter, as well as many talented players in the Chicago classical, jazz and improvisational scene. With Monica, he often performs as a minimalist electro duo with sequenced backing tracks, and also performs at larger events with his seven-piece Superband.

DRUMM, KEVIN Kevin Drumm 2LP
Limited 2025 restock; 2010 release. An expanded and definitive double LP edition of Kevin Drumm's groundbreaking first album, originally released on Perdition Plastics in 1997. Featuring some of the most fiercely abstract and organic guitar work ever heard, Drumm's debut is both jarring and completely alien. Dubbed by some as the greatest prepared guitar record ever recorded it prefigured (and continues to trump) almost an entire decade or so of contemporary "out" music that would follow. Beautiful and completely essential. This edition includes an entire fourth side of previously unreleased recordings from Drumm's personal archive, all recorded in the same era as the original album. It also includes entirely new artwork featuring the body of the actual guitar used to record the album. Kevin Drumm - guitar. Recorded directly to tape in the fall of 1996; Tracks A1-C1 were first issued in 1997 (Perdition Plastics). 180 gram vinyl; Includes two full-color inserts; Includes download code; Heavy "tip-on" gatefold jacket with spot gloss and matte finishes, textured de-bossing.

BARK PSYCHOSIS Replay CD
Originally released in 2004, Replay captures one of post-rock's most influential and elusive acts, during their peak years of 1988 to 1994. Bark Psychosis always defied convention -- layering samples and textures to create immersive soundscapes that helped define post-rock when the genre was growing stagnant. One of their key innovations was their use of volume and contrast; dense guitar walls collapse into delicate vocals and synths, revealing the dynamic range at the heart of their sound. This CD repress stays completely true to the original, which features photography from St John's Church, where the five live tracks were recorded in 1991. The setting's natural acoustics perfectly complement the band's expansive, atmospheric approach. This edition also includes rare studio material: re-mastered versions of "Reserve Shotgunman" and "Hex' (first released as B-sides), the cult favorite "Clawhammer" (from a 1988 flexi-disc split with Spacemen 3's Dreamweapon), and a remix of "Big Shot," making it essential for fans and collectors alike.

VELVET UNDERGROUND, THE White Light/White Heat LP
2025 restock; 2008 release. While 1967's Velvet Underground & Nico was a part of Andy Warhol's global artistic vision, 1968's White Light/White Heat was free of all Warholian influence, so in a way it could be thought of as another debut album. Here the music was left to fester on its own, with no artistic visionary interfering or trying to create a soundtrack for his pop art, and the Velvets filled that void with an album that is an aural subway car full of drunkards, junkies and whores rumbling through the bowels of NYC with a one way ticket to oblivion. Includes 3 bonus tracks.

SISTER NANCY One Two LP
"Sister Nancy's 'Bam Bam' on the Stallag Riddim is arguably the most licensed dancehall track for advertising and film backgrounds with multiple uses since 2000. The song has also displayed amazing lasting power for club DJs, with its instantly recognizable hooks. This album, originally released in 1982, showcased Sister Nancy for the world on the heels of a hit that has only gotten bigger over the decades. This is the first legitimate re-issue of the album, since the death of producer and techniques label founder, Winston Riley. Demand will be strong for this rare gem."
