Overall impression: good. This is the first single from the debut album, "Breath From Another". Heaven Sent, the best track from the album in my opinion, is a lovely blend of sounds as diverse as flamenco guitar, piano, orchestral arrangements, bits of crunchy noise, rock guitar, "trip hop" beats and 19 year old Esthero's beautiful voice. The Mad Professor Dub is, well, a Mad Professor Dub ... an echo chamber dub re-working with occasional blasts of vocals and orhcestral bits from the original track. Track 3 is an extended (and better) re-working of the album version. The insipid "squeal like a pig" samples and most of the lyrics are removed, the Shug and Meesah rhymes are left intact, and longer drum 'n bass instrumental sections graced by occasional Esthero melodies are added. Track 4 is lame. It's essentially a new track, a boring and loooooong drum 'n bass instrumental affair. Track 5 is remixed by Charlie Clouser (of NIN fame). It's not an aggro NIN-ish mix at all, rather a lush and superior version of the original. A loose jazzy feel dominates throughout as Clouser adds some samples, beats, keys and excellent production. So, overall 4/5 of the tracks get a thumbs up. Spend your $6 on this rather than the album ...
