Sean Lennon "Home" Toshiba-EMI Limited TOCP-40088 1998 (13:40)

Home (3:05)
5/8 (4:59)
Intermission (5:36)

Overall impression: good. This is the first single off of Sean's debut album, "Into the Sun". "Home" is from said album, a short song that alternates between Beatle-esque mellow verses and a big grungy guitar chorus. If you watch MTV, you've probably seen the video. The other two tracks are non album b-sides. "5/8" is an odd, mostly instrumental, kind of jazz/funk thang replete with lots of horn and flute solos over a bizarre bass and percussion rhythm (in 5/8 time perhaps?) "Intermission" continues in the jazz/funk vein, only slower, completely instrumental with more keyboard/samples splashed over the beat. Both of the b-sides strike me as the by-products of jam sessions. So, is it worth the $10 for the 2 b-sides? I think so. If you liked the album, you'll probably like these ...
