Overall impression: good.  I know very little about Lesser (this being my 1st Lesser disc) other than he/she//they are based in the San Francisco, CA area.  "Welcome.." is a collection of studio tracks from various sources and a few live tracks (2 and 4 are live and 5-9 are slightly different versions of tracks from the "Excommunicate the Cult of the Live Band" 12" ep also from Vinyl Communications).  Lesser's music is an odd jumble of chaotic drum 'n bass, noise, atmospheres and sample manipulations ... usually all 3 can be found in any one song.  A few tracks are hyper d 'n b ("The Anal..", "Phage") and a few are more funky and groove-y ("4th Level..", "Lesser's Shrimpjob..") but most (especially the 2 live ones) are sample/percussion collages that form something fairly unique to my cd collection ... sort of a cross between Merzbow and Squarepusher.  Lesser goes nuts with samples (vocals/other bands/noises/etc) overlaying them, splicing them together, arranging them in bizarre off kilter sequences and just generally mindfucking you with them.  Great stuff when you're in the mood for it.  It looks like the UK isn't the only source for experimental d 'n b ...
