Dead Voices on Air is Mark Spybey with cEvin Key on tracks 3,4 and 5.

Overall impression: excellent. This material was recorded in 1992/93, and is still some of DVOA's finest work to date in my opinion. All of the tracks utilize Mark's simplistic, but not dismissable, approach to music: looped sounds, percussive hits, growls, grunts, etc repeating through a seemingly endless delay effect. This album is closely related to the other albums, such as "Shap" and "Hafted Maul". I really enjoy the 3 lengthy tracks, these in particular are quite ambient and morph and change over the course of the 10+ minutes making for very eerie listening in surround sound at high volume. The shorter tracks (with Key) are more percussive/noisy, also very good and they maintain the DVOA sound (ie they don't become Download songs). As usual, Mark's artwork on the cd insert is awesome. Highly recommended to all "experimental soundscape" fans.
