Overall impression: bleah. Why was this released ... other than to capitolize on the clever followup title? The front cover art is warning enough to avoid this disc, but unfortunately I let my curiosity get the best of me and ordered it anyways. I happened to like the last SoD studio album, "One for the Money" quite a bit, but "Two for the Show" is just plain worthless. It's pretty much a "best of" live set comprised of songs covering "One for.." and most of the previous singles and albums, recorded in the U.S. between June and July of '96. The songs I'm already familiar with aren't all that much different from their studio counterparts ... probably because SoD's live show doesn't comprise of much more than Duncan X singing over DATs and sequences, and the occasional in between song bantering to the crowd. The sound quality and songs sound fine, but what's the point? Needless to say, I won't be amused by a "Three to Get Ready" followup, unless it's something new from the
studio ...
