New releases should be arriving in stores this week from Tim Hecker, My Cat Is An Alien & Zaffiri, Odd Nosdam, Bishop Allen, Architecture In Helsinki, plus a collection of Wheat out of print albums and a reissue of Calexico's Spoke on vinyl.
Look for not only 1 but TWO new things this week from Oren Ambarchi and Faust (not together) plus stuff from Neko Case, Svarte Greiner, Dungen, Prodigu, and Erlend Øye as Whitest Boy Alive.
Flying boldly in the face of economic crisis, this week is nothing less than MASSIVE in terms of new releases, with new things due from Beirut & Realpeople, BJ Nilsen & Stilluppsteypa, Psapp, Zombi, Alec Empire, Morrissey, Mountains, and many, many more.
The second week of February is a pretty slow week for new releases but expect stuff from Guided By Voices side project Boston Spaceships, a new Beat Konducta release from Madlib, and a new 12" from DFA's Death from Abroad series by Cage & Aviary.
February starts with new releases from Alva Noto, Telefon Tel Aviv, An Albatross, Phosphorescent, Yeasayer, and the LP edition of the new Antony & the Johnsons release.
New stuff emerges this week from Dälek, Loren Connors & Jim O'Rourke, Merzbow, Lithops, Anahita, Astral Social Club, and Strings of Consciousness while old stuff re-emerges from Polov, Man Or Astro-Man, and Enon.
This week sees some highly anticipated new releases from Antony & the Johnsons, Animal Collective, KTL, and Six Organs of Admittance as well as some old music from Studio 1, Royal Trux, and Titus Andronicus.
Catching up with the new releases, look for new things out now from KTL, Colossal Yes, Odd Nosdam, and new remixes of the classic "House of God" by DHS on Poker Flat.
As we wind down to the end of the year, very little worhtwhile stuff gets released. Thus the stuff we can find of interest is quite minimal for the next couple weeks.
New on the shelves this week is the brand new Buddha Box 2, Fire On Fire, Human Greed, Dakota Suite, and Xela as well as some old things from William S. Burroughs, Pigface, and Pauline Oliveros.
Look for new things these two weeks from Kid 606, Susanna, Fennesz, and Kieran Hebden & Steve Reid. Old things are due from Ida, Public Image Ltd., Pavement, and the Arthur Russell documentary on DVD.
It must be getting close to the holiday season since we're now seeing reissues of reissues, including Matmos and Linda Perhacs this week. New stuff this week is due from Larsen, Ocean, Brethren of the Free Spirit, Helios, and a 7" single from People Like Us & Ergo Phizmiz.
New music this week includes Grace Jones, Annelies Moneré, and Wilderness and vinyl reissues this week include the Touch & Go vinyl version of the Killer Pimp release from All The Saints, Magnetic Fields, and Camera Obscura.
New releases this week include the brand new Bohren Und Der Club der Gore, Deerhunter Matthew Herbert, Harry Pussy, and The USA is a Monster plus some vault unearthings from Bruce Springsteen & Suicide, Arthur Russell, and DNA.
Look for new releases this week from Gang Gang Dance, Bonnie Prince Billy, Bullwackies All Stars, The Sea and Cake, and a single from Sam Taylor-Wood produced by Pet Shop Boys as well as some very, very old stuff from Thompson Twins.
