Scorn is Mick Harris (with Nicholas Bullen - bass and vocals on "Almost Human", "Maker of Angels" and "Scorpionic").

Overall impression:
good. According to my copy of the College Edition of the Webster's New World Dictionary of the American Language, the word 'anamnesis' means 'a remembering'. A fitting title since "Anamnesis.." collects previously unreleased leftovers, compilation tracks, a Peel Session and a remix from Scorn's highly productive and influential '94-'97 years. There's nothing here that's going to suprise a Scorn addict, it's the same big, bad-ass bass sound as always. The first 3 tracks are the Peel Session recorded on July 17, 1994 with Nick Bullen on driving bass and occasional vocals. These alone are worth the cost of the cd ... heavy stuff in the same vein as "Evanescence". "Geeked" (original) through "Tamper" cover '95-'96 ... these tracks mark when Harris went solo and are in the same vein as those on "Logghi Barogghi" and "Gyral". "Beat 2 Version" and "State of That" mark the more minimal change in sound as found on "Zander" and "Whine". The final track is the Coil remix of "Dreamscape" that was initially only available on the "Ellipsis" 5x12" remix set. As with most remixes by Coil, this one is cool, but it doesn't touch the mindblowing 11 and 1/2 minute "Shadow vs. Executioner" remix of the same song on Scorn's "Ellipsis" remix cd. As usual for Possible / Invisible releases, this one has minimal cd art and info on a 1 page insert. If you dig Scorn half as much as I do, then you must own "Anamnesis 1994-7" ...
