Overall impression: good. "Lovely" is the 2nd ep/single prior to the new Wagon Christ album, "Tally Ho!". "Lovely" is the album track, an uptempo number with a bouncy, almost ska feel and the usual crisp snares and hi-hats from Vibert and lots of "we're so lovely!" female vocal samples looped ad nauseum. "Pretty Crap" is much more interesting ... an 8 minute + slow drum and deep bass groove with nice fills and breaks. "Suspension.." features more of a squelchy bass sound and a pitch shifted "break it down!" vocal sample. Good stuff, nothing stellar though, "Pretty Crap" probably being one of the best of all the new Wagon Christ tracks. Was it worth the $10 for this cd? Of course not, especially when you consider that "The Power of Love" and "Lovely" could have easily been combined into 1 ep, but then Virgin wouldn't get to collect all that lovely money now would they?
